The kitchen in Lavender Cottage is far from finished, but Mrs. Schwartz wanted to try it out anyway. There will be a hanging cupboard over the work area next to the fridge, as well as shelves over the sink. I still have to make a kitchen table.

i'll post a pic of it open as soon as i remember the combo- i built the safe first-then the desk around it. the safe made the desk really heavy. 2lbs.

More pics of the outdated area of the Panorama at the Queens Museum of Art.

This little half-scale witch is the first doll I've ever made completely from scratch.

i designed this kit from the ground up adapting from full sized period blueprints.i wanted to do a piece that was faithful to the original style-yet had good access to rooms as a dollhouse.

All the styrofoam rock has been glued on and a light coat of spackling has been applied.

I was just here a few months ago. The water shown here is the Sputen Duyvil Creek. See pics in comments of model bridges shown in far right.

Elmira the witch loves Christmas. She's decorated her mantel with lovely Christmas candles.

An aerial view of Queens...sort of. Actually a scale miniature of New York City at the Queens Museum of Art.

Still lots to do, but it's coming along nicely.

Still more "rocks" to be added to the walls.

This half-scale scene is in a 7inch by 5 inch box that is 2 inches deep. The box came with the glass glued in, which made it a bit difficult to photograph.

I made the fireplace, the ornaments (except the bats), the cauldron, the chair and Elmira herself.

A first coat of wash has been applied, using tan and sandstone paint. It had to dry completely before the outside could be done.

This is the first blanket chest I ever made. It is about 4 inches long and has a hinged top that opens. I stained it walnut and gave it a beeswax finish. Entirely hand made, it was a Christmas gift for my husband.

That old cedar cleaned up very nicely, and I decided to make a table for the Grotty Grotto.

All the work is done by hand, using an olfa knife, an Xacto knife, a hand drilll, small files, and sandpaper. I have no power tools.

All the pieces are cut for the roof beams and gable end.

The items under glass are L to R:

Plate of cookies, white decorated cake, chocolate decorated cake.

The plates are all handmade.

You can almost hear the singing of this tiny angel - dressed in foam green silk with a star for a halo and fine feather wings that don't show up in this shot.

This little pitcher started out being a vase. I got a little lopsided with the carving, so made a handle and spout to turn it into a pitcher instead.
