This mermaid is sitting on a real shell positioned on a tiny round mirror. The waves and sea foam are hitting the shell as she waves to a passing ship.

Clear satin finish, no stain.

The green tape is holding newly glued bits in place. The pillar in the foreground has not yet been glued into place.

The fireplace doesn't look right where it is.

The park as viewed until Meadow Lake. I am surprised the ruins of the Aquacade is still there at the edge of the lake. Well, I knew it as ruins. I guess it looked new once. They have since dismantled it and you can only see the wooden floorboards now and a newly built small pavillion.

A view of the bridge crossing over Roosevelt Island. The bridge used to have an elevator that accomodated cars to be lowered down into the Island. Until the Roosevelt Island Bridge was built it was the only way to travel to the island sans a boat.

Not bad, but definitely not the look I want. So it's back to the drawing board!

And a side view on that interesting blue base (which is a 2"x2" paint chip). The cake holder on the far counter is made from a small googly eye (taken apart, eye removed and a micro glass bead added on top for a handle). It does remove to show off the cake and cake plate underneath.
