If you get a chance to visit Hoover Dam, make sure you check this Bronze Sculpture of High Scaler who built this dam. I have done quite a bit of rock climbing years ago and after seeing what kind of harness these guys used, makes me wonder the kind of working condition they were in. I can't imagine hanging in one these primitive support system in hours at scorching dessert heat. These folks were tough like a nail, no doubt!

I've drawn the outline of the 40 foot figure on the side of the studio building. it comes near to the top.

- Marco told me that they couldn't set up the 40 foot figure inside the studio. he said the head would barely fit inside the dome but the rafters would interfere with the shoulders and the left arm.

La mattina dopo, la scala era stata riverniciata di grigio, colore che ricopre le pareti delle case dell’intero quartiere da quando sono stati cancellati i murales e gli slogan contro il governo fatti durante le contestazioni per il Parco Gezi lo scorso giugno. C’erano state allora molte proteste e gli abitanti del quartiere avevano organizzato una manifestazione perché le autorità di Istanbul concedessero il permesso di ridipingere a colori la scalinata. E così è stato: sabato 31, dopo aver ottenuto un’autorizzazione ufficiale, le scale sono tornate di molti colori diversi.

Southern Pacific Railroad's AC-4 (meaning Articulated Consolidation) class of steam locomotives was the first class of 4-8-8-2 cab forward locomotives. They were intended to improve on the railroad's MC (Mallet-Consolidation) class 2-8-8-2 locomotives with a larger firebox, hence, the four-wheel leading truck (instead of the two-wheel).
The AC-4s were the first SP Mallets built for simple expansion. Baldwin Locomotive Works built them in August through October 1928 with a maximum cutoff of 70%, so tractive effort was rated at 112,760 lbf (501.6 kN); a few years later, limited cutoff was dropped and calculated tractive effort increased to 116,000 lbf (520 kN).
The AC-4s were removed from service starting in 1953, and all ten were scrapped by June 1955.
