This gives a sense of the depth of KÄ«lauea Iki since you can see the cars in the parking lot at the overlook. It also gives you a view of the bathtub ring.
I didn't get many pictures of the hike down, which goes through lush vegetation with views of the crater floor through the trees.
I took this picture to give a sense of scale to the picture of my yarn stash. The bed has an American full size mattress.
I dry brushed 4 different shades of blue and turquoise on to the platter, I then painted scales to cover the top.

The motors are huge 1000 watt, 36 volt monsters made by Unite Motors (MY1020). I am concerned about motor efficiency. This much wattage uses much battery power. Lack of power? I think not!

The pattern on these birds is stunning.
This wasn’t a bird we expected to see on our Texas trip.
We were at Falcon Dam and heard they were at the park.
We sat in the bird blind for about 10 minutes and got the scaled quail, bob white, green tailed towhee and spotted towhee.
If they were all that easy we probably wouldn’t bother.
