The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood (Russian: Храм Спаса на Крови) Khram Spasa na Krovi is one of the main sights of St. Petersburg, Russia. It is also variously called the Church on Spilt Blood and the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ (Russian: Собор Воскресения Христова), its official name.

"The preferred Russian name for this great church is [Храм Спаса на Крови] Khram Spasa na Krovi, but each English-language tourist publication seems to list it under a different name. The moniker of "Spilled Blood" is most popular in preference to the likes of the Church of the Resurrection, Church of our Savior on the Blood, Cathedral of the Ascension, Resurrection of the Christ, or Assumption, Church of the Redeemer, or any permutation of the above."

This Church was built on the site where Tsar Alexander II was assassinated and was dedicated in his memory. It should not to be confused with the Church on Blood in Honour of All Saints Resplendent in the Russian Land, located in the city of Yekaterinburg where the former Emperor Nicholas II (1868-1918) and several members of his family and household were executed following the Bolshevik Revolution.

One cannot miss this magnificent cathedral when walking on the Nevsky prospekt boulevard; it constantly attracts hundreds of those that would otherwise just pass by and continue walking on St. Petersburg's main avenue...

Hedgehog rescued by my daughter, it was crossing the street when we drove by.

We stopped and my daughter used the sleeves of her coat to carry the hedgehog to a safe place far away from traffic.

She still finds it hard to smile since she has metal braces on her teeth, but she finally agreed posting her picture.

Have a great week!

Thinking about another Saturnus.

More benevolence.

More favor.

I am one of his chosen ones.

My Savior hears me when I pray,

Upon His Word I calmly rest;

In His own time, in His own way,

I know He'll give me what is best.

Colossians 3:17 NKJV

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the father through Him.----------------------------------------------------------As we go through life, we have many decisions to make daily.

Work, school, and chores all require some actions and decision making.

Remember W.W.J.D. ( what would Jesus do)? To test ourselves on this, we should ask these questions:

Can I do this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ?

Would this be to His glory?

Could I expect His blessing to rest on it?

Would I want to be doing it when He comes back again?

When we apply this test to our own words and actions, we may find some things that need changing. [ Romans 13: 13-14]

Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lust.------- What business does a Christian have with revelry, drunkenness, lewdness, lust, strife, and envy? The answer is none!

Sinful actions and sinful attitudes all start with a single thought. [ James 1:14-15]

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death.----

Sow a thought- reap a habit.

Sow a habit- reap a lifestyle.

Sow a lifestyle- reap a destiny.

What will your destiny be? The choice is yours to make.

You can choose to accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior, submit your life to Him and enjoy a growing relationship that will take you into Heaven to spend eternity with God.

You can choose to embrace the world and its views. Reject Christ and spend eternity in Hell separated from God.

If you are a believer, do not let the worlds temptations make you play the hypocrite.

If you are not a believer, I urge you to choose wisely!

Transparent Watercolors, Colored Pencil, Black Ink Pilot Pen over Graphite Pencil on White Watercolor Paper. The photo I used was not my own work. It was from a Church Passion Play photo that I downloaded from the internet. I don't exactly know who to credit for that. The rest of the designs were all mine, and I did make this art. It was commissioned by an insurance agent. It was going to be a mothers day present for his Mom. Jesus Christ was about healing and Peace! In fact, he was and is the "Prince of Peace!" So, I'm also saying, "Peace!" I want to be like him because he's my Savior!

According to hinduism, Goddess Durga is honored as the savior of the world from evil Mahishasura.

(Echeveria strictiflora). Davis Mountains, Texas.

One of the Davis Mountains most spectacular botanical residents is the Desert Savior. This succulent member of the stonecrop family (Crassulaceae) is primarily found on rocky canyon walls and slopes of central and northern Mexico. In the United States it is known only from Jeff Davis, Brewster, and Presidio Counties in far West Texas.

We found several growing from rock crevices and the bases of boulders at elevations above 6000 feet. Here they were able to take advantage of minute amounts of soil and moisture that collect over time. In the Davis Mountains they seem to be found primarily in exposed rock outcrops and canyon walls adjacent to rocky streams.

The Desert Savior is a truly spectacular plant. It's stalk of waxy, fiery flowers reaches up to a foot and a half over it's thick, grayish green succulent leaves. Each curled stalk may bare 2 dozen or more flowers that gradually open, unfurling the stalk as they develop and fade. Hummingbirds are likely an important pollinator of these succulents, as evidenced by their bright red coloration, somewhat tubular flowers, and the fact that their peak blooming seems to coincide with the start of hummingbird migration of late summer.

The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood (Russian: Церковь Спаса на Крови, Tserkovʹ Spasa na Krovi) is a Russian Orthodox church in Saint Petersburg, Russia which currently functions as a secular museum and church at the same time. The structure was constructed between 1883 and 1907. It is one of Saint Petersburg's major attractions.

The church was erected on the site where political nihilists assassinated Emperor Alexander II in March 1881. The church was funded by the Romanov imperial family in honor of Alexander II, and the suffix "on [Spilled] Blood" refers to his assassination.

Construction began in 1883 during the reign of Alexander III, two years after the assassination of his father Alexander II. The church was consecrated as a memorial to his father. Estimates suggest that the construction cost 4.5 million rubles. The construction was completed during the reign of Nicholas II in 1907. Funding was provided by the Imperial family with the support of many private donors.

The church is prominently situated along the Griboedov Canal; paved roads run along both sides of the canal. On March 13, 1881 (Julian date: March 1), as Alexander II's carriage passed along the embankment, a grenade thrown by an anarchist conspirator exploded. The tsar, shaken but unhurt, got out of the carriage and started to remonstrate with the presumed culprit. A second conspirator took the chance to throw another bomb, killing himself and mortally wounding the tsar. The tsar, bleeding heavily, was taken back to the Winter Palace, where he died a few hours later.

A temporary shrine was erected on the site of the attack while plans and fundraising for a more permanent memorial were undertaken. In order to build a permanent shrine on the exact spot where the assassination took place, it was decided to narrow the canal so that the section of road on which the tsar had been driving could be included within the walls of the church. An elaborate shrine, in the form of a ciborium, was constructed at the end of the church opposite the altar, on the exact place of Alexander's assassination. It is embellished with topaz, lazurite and other semi-precious stones, making a striking contrast with the simple cobblestones of the old road, which are exposed in the floor of the shrine.

The flight out to Seattle was one of the worst I have ever been on. We were on the plane for 9 hours.

Thank God that I was next to Michele and Evan. They were awesome. And I kicked Evan's butt at Mario Kart DS!

My favorite shot from an otherwise abysmal Sunday on the NS Lafayette District. This would end up being the only train we would see with full nose light all day. But I can finally mark this great shot off my list.
