New Hampshire Public Television held a dinner and the screening premiere of its new documentary, Saving New England Fisheries, at the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel on May 13, 2016. Workshop participants learned how to save seeds of common vegetables, including "wet seeds" like tomatoes. Community gardeners are encouraged to begin a habit of saving and contributing seeds to the Hayward Seed Lending Library, to share with local gardeners. Workshop participants learned about the advantages of growing locally adapted crops. The workshop was led by Alameda County Master Gardener and Seed Lending Library volunteer Irene Beebe.
This workshop was presented as part of the Hayward Seed Lending Library, sponsored by the Friends of the Hayward Library. The Seed Lending Library operates as a community seed exchange. "Check out" a variety of vegetable and flower seeds to plant in your personal garden. In return, consider harvesting some of the seeds from mature plants for your own use and for sharing with the Seed Lending Library. I thought this garden was truly inspired, obviously in Australia the saving of water is extremely important.

We had been working in a dark and cold office this week for saving on electricity.
Only things I can do for now are making a donation and saving on electricity...
I want to do anything even if it's just a small thing,
if it's the only thing I can do for others.
I hope as many people as possible will be recovered.
