Saving the old, what is left of Edwards no 8 after the fire that gutted the inside of this old building? I do not know if it is a listed building but they are saving the façade on all four sides.
Founded in 1980, the East Side Community Garden at Emerson Elementary School is Riverside’s oldest garden that serves several groups and individuals from the local community. These members are mostly from immigrant backgrounds and manage several garden plots. With the support of the Riverside Community Garden Council and teachers at the school, Brayan Cruz is facilitating the garden plots allocated for the Elementary students during their Spring school period and some parts of Summer 2018. Semillas Con Semillas is a school gardening project that aims to grow traditional and heirloom seeds with youth. In order to promote both cultural preservation, awareness, nutrition and health funds from the Pollination Project will directly go towards obtaining plants, seeds, tools and materials needed inside as well as outside the classrooms. Furthermore, more Native California plants will be established in the garden through this project. This project is consciously focused on sourcing from vendors who are advocating for land restoration and seed preservation. In the process of growing native seeds and utilizing traditional gardening practices, students will be able to benefit from food grown in the garden. Gardening can provide an import contribution for child growth development. In this project students will directly benefit from the plants grown in the garden.
By growing Native plants, the garden itself will be benefit from the overall ecological impact. Native pollinators and insects alike will be attracted to the new plants. The soil will also be affected positively with the introduction to Native California plants adapted to the local soil. These seeds are important not only for the nutrition that it may bring to the children, but also for the overall nature of promoting regionally adapted plats with cultural significance.

Some senior high school students were listening seriously the presentation of Saving Energy Campaign of TOTAL E&P INDONESIE by Adhika, Health-Safety-Environtment of TOTAL E&P INDONESIE on Wednesday, 6 May 2009, at the booth of TOTAL E&P INDONESIE in the 33rd IPA Exhibition held 5 – 7 May 2009.
Daylight Saving's photographers didn't show, so I got asked if I could go down to their practise and take a couple of shots.
Friday night Lockedin Magazine & My8five0's Tim Crutchfield was enjoying a rocking night with Saving Abel with special guests, local boys Airvarata and South Florida's Grin Cynic @ Vibe Night Club and Lounge. Airavata and Grin Cynic got the crowd pumped up for Saving Abel. Bringing their special Tennessippi Southern Rock to the panhandle, Saving Abel kicked off 2021 and had the audience on their feet and pumped up well into the night proving why they are such a fan favorite. Here's to what we all hope to be a great year of music and touring for these southern rockers!!!

Workshop participants learned how to save seeds of common vegetables, including "wet seeds" like tomatoes. Community gardeners are encouraged to begin a habit of saving and contributing seeds to the Hayward Seed Lending Library, to share with local gardeners. Workshop participants learned about the advantages of growing locally adapted crops. The workshop was led by Alameda County Master Gardener and Seed Lending Library volunteer Irene Beebe.
This workshop was presented as part of the Hayward Seed Lending Library, sponsored by the Friends of the Hayward Library. The Seed Lending Library operates as a community seed exchange. "Check out" a variety of vegetable and flower seeds to plant in your personal garden. In return, consider harvesting some of the seeds from mature plants for your own use and for sharing with the Seed Lending Library. A black bear exits the forest to snag some salmon from a creek and bury them in his cache to eat later. This bear has a tapeworm, which can be expelled, as well as the tapeworm eggs, by eating sedge grasses before hibernating. Hibernation also kills off most of the parasites, hopefully allowing the bears to emerge healthier in the spring. Raw salmon carries these eggs and as soon as the bears begin eating the incoming spawning salmon, the tapeworms appear again.
