Save me.
He saved me. From you. From the rotten clutches of your greedy hands.
I escaped, but remained lost. Until him. I remained stained by you, and I suppose in a way I still am, but I am healing. Because of him.
You. Manipulative. Greedy. Disrespectful. Illusionist. I escaped you.
And he saved me.
This is my personal project and I need a small favor from your side, please comment how do you feel about this design/artwork/poster. Trust me it won't take too much time. :)

I want in to buy a small pop but left empty handed as I was disgusted that the regular price was more than double for people who did not have a "Save on Foods" card.
Fine, charge me double, loose my business, I told the manager.
In July 1966, Save Mart opened a new 20,000-square-foot supermarket at 130 W Stockton St. This store was a replacement for an older store located just adjacent to the new store. The grand opening newspaper article noted: "The new Save Mart store on Stockton St. has joined the swelling list of buildings which reflect the heritage of Sonora. The slump stone and large timbers which front the building enclose a modern, attractive and well-equipped supermarket that offers a wide variety of products". The old store building became a drugstore after Save Mart moved out, and is now subdivided amongst multiple retailers. The current store received an interior remodel in the late 1980s, and none since then. Sometime during the 2000s or 2010s, however, the front facade was slightly redone.

Advanced Wordle is fun too! To save it, I go to print, then save as a PDF. Later I can save in another file format if needed.
At first I didn't like the shadow ... but it makes perfect sense for this photo ...
As I walked past it today, I noticed the neglect, there's debris, mold-like growth near the entrance ... but it doesn't steal away from its beauty ...
I do not claim to be an expert on this issue, but I do know that this building is at risk to be demolished ... still!
I am perplexed by this.
Not only is it visually beautiful and appealing ... Bertrand Goldberg was the architect ... (Marina City/Towers ... yes! same architect!) ... how can they demolish this gem? It needs landmark status!
Well, the last I heard, the Mayor is stalling on the decision ... with good reason ... either way, he'll suffer. The money people vs. the architecture enthusiasts ... doesn't seem good.
I was glad to overhear several people discuss this situation near Prentice ... and then a man asked me "what do you think? demo or landmark?" as I took this iPhone photo ... "Landmark!" (sorry for shouting, mister!) ... he responded "hope so!"
here's an article ... google will find you more ...

Well what we can we do? There's this:

who also have a petition (not sure if it is still active): www.change.org/petitions/stop-the-demolition-save-bertran... (You don't have to live in Chicago to "sign" it!)
Here's to hoping.

May 22nd 2010 - Outside BBC Broadcasting house in London.
My girlfriend and I love BBC 6music. So much so that we went on a 450 mile road trip just to attend a protest outside BBC Broadcasting House in London.
There isn't much time to tell the BBC that the decision to close 6music and The Asian Network is wrong, the consultation ends on the 25th of May. Click here to find out what to do.
“The BBC can’t possibly close 6 Music, what will happen to the best new music and passing on the knowledge of old music? What other station plays bands like The National and then follows it with Curtis Mayfield and then the Beastie Boys? It's just wrong to even consider it, it will make fewer young people want to listen to the radio and therefore less new stuff will happen, sort ya heads out please.”

If you have a minute, take a look at the series here. Sorry about the large number to go through but I have uploaded these for our son and his fellow band members to see.
On Friday 1 October, 2010 our son's band Clean Slate were the "hosts" as it were for a benefit evening of music with several bands for a fellow band member who had fallen into some hard times.
The music was good, the crowd enjoyed the bands that were all there playing at no cost to help out a fellow musician.
I was asked to photograph the evening. Not having ever photographed a band before and, not being that comfortable with the people shots thought well this would allow me to step outside that comfort zone once again and try to do something different.
I read up on photographing rock concerts noting that manual mode, a fast lens, bump the ISO up as high as it would go, and trying to get a shutter speed that would not cause alot of blur was hard to say the least. These bands were all fast! They moved quick and the lighting of course was mainly just what they had for the venue.
Still I am pleased with how some of these ones have turned out...I think I have trashed about 60 photos from the over 200 I took for youngest son. These are no where near the quality of my flickr friend Jane's concert photos but to me, she is the concert master of all my fiends here, but still, as I said I am pleased none-the-less.
Thanks Clean Slate, Setting the Standard, Some Assembly Required, Weapons Against Evil and Transit 14 for the opportunity to photograph you all, Thanks to oldest daughter who grabbed my camera when her brother was in the spot light and managed to get some great shots and thanks to those bands who entertained not only the "young" crowd there but also, GP and I.

Save Me
~ Joan Armatrading
Sinking
Caught up in a whirling motion
Such a strange sensation
The currents uncertain
Like sails of a mill
I spin
Like wheels, I move in a circle
While you stand on the bank
Immune or evasive
Throw me a lifeline
Save me...
Intimacy and affection
Frozen
In this game of chance
I forfeit
Full hand of love
With no counters
Like a moth
With no flame
To persuade me
Like blood in the rain
Running thin
While you stand on the inside
Looking in
Save me...
Inside looking in
Complete in yourself
Throw me a lifeline
Save me...
Stand on the bank
Immune or evasive
Throw me a lifeline
Save me...
