My poster for the lovable yet slightly grotesque and smelly Boggins, The Adam and Joe dog. He is apparently to some an annoying nuisance yet I find him lovable and comical despite his ill health and stench. Dont let Boggins be put down!
(NB: Boggins is a fictional dog from the fantastic Adam and Joe BBC6 Music show, no real animals will be harmed!)
"Save the Earth" by artist Donna Ahrendsen. One of the 30 artistic birdhouses on display throughout Lincoln during March 2011, then at the Grand Manse Gallery in early April 2011, before being auctioned off as a fundraiser for the Pioneers Park Nature Center.

The Council needs to hear from us again! When we raised our voices in October 2008 against the elimination of the City Arts Funding, the community prevailed. We are Artists, Patrons, Teachers, Parents, Youth, Cultural Workers, Business leaders, Families and Community members. WE CAN DO IT AGAIN!
The Oakland City Council considers a 50% Cut to Oakland Arts at a special budget session on Thursday, April 1, 2010, 7:00pm. This is one move closer towards elimination of the Cultural Funding Program, the long-established, competitive City program to provide arts and cultural services reaching 1,416,435 people in Oakland.

Was fortunate to receive a new technology - a Papershoot camera! It's digital but without any 'chimp' function (no screen) so it's point and shoot and then 'develop' - download pics to review. While internals are electronic, the 'body' is paper! Seems to have a 28 to 35mm view relatively fast at f2.2. Really enjoyed this - such a fun camera and something I'll definitely bring around with/without my other film based operandi. Hope everyone is having a safe and enjoyable season, and once again I thank this community for inspiration and support.
In July 1966, Save Mart opened a new 20,000-square-foot supermarket at 130 W Stockton St. This store was a replacement for an older store located just adjacent to the new store. The grand opening newspaper article noted: "The new Save Mart store on Stockton St. has joined the swelling list of buildings which reflect the heritage of Sonora. The slump stone and large timbers which front the building enclose a modern, attractive and well-equipped supermarket that offers a wide variety of products". The old store building became a drugstore after Save Mart moved out, and is now subdivided amongst multiple retailers. The current store received an interior remodel in the late 1980s, and none since then. Sometime during the 2000s or 2010s, however, the front facade was slightly redone.

Everything in Deltona seemed the same until we headed out Howland towards 415. Where there once was a park, there is now a Wal-Mart Supercenter. I really shouldn't be surprised, but it was still quite a contrast after what I'm used to now.

We had to cut our game short, but we used digital photography (and the placement of Kurt's development card in a baggy with something behind it so that neither Justin nor I could see which card he drew) to record our progress.

I especially enjoyed the "Save Fenway Park" display. I didn't even live in New England when the previous ownership group announced plans to build a new ballpark, but I supported Save Fenway Park's campaign to show that staying in Fenway was economically and structurally possible. I sent away for a bumper sticker just like the one in the display, and when I bought a new car I peeled it off my old car and stuck it on the new one. A few years later when I moved back north, I picked up another bumper sticker outside Fenway at my first Opening Day. That one still hangs over my cubicle at work.

If you have a minute, take a look at the series here. Sorry about the large number to go through but I have uploaded these for our son and his fellow band members to see.
On Friday 1 October, 2010 our son's band Clean Slate were the "hosts" as it were for a benefit evening of music with several bands for a fellow band member who had fallen into some hard times.
The music was good, the crowd enjoyed the bands that were all there playing at no cost to help out a fellow musician.
I was asked to photograph the evening. Not having ever photographed a band before and, not being that comfortable with the people shots thought well this would allow me to step outside that comfort zone once again and try to do something different.
I read up on photographing rock concerts noting that manual mode, a fast lens, bump the ISO up as high as it would go, and trying to get a shutter speed that would not cause alot of blur was hard to say the least. These bands were all fast! They moved quick and the lighting of course was mainly just what they had for the venue.
Still I am pleased with how some of these ones have turned out...I think I have trashed about 60 photos from the over 200 I took for youngest son. These are no where near the quality of my flickr friend Jane's concert photos but to me, she is the concert master of all my fiends here, but still, as I said I am pleased none-the-less.
