I believe most of the objects in our everyday experience can have a second life and often spend time thinking about how to reuse something or what purpose it might have long after it’s original intent has passed. When I saw the shape of the jar, as well as the size of the lid I knew it would make an interesting “holder” and paperweight. I also was inspired to use both components of the jar as functioning pieces that "worked" together. Once I began to look at the natural-tone of the brown lid I thought of sand and how it might complement the lid color. I also thought the use of sand would be a daily reminder of how I was keeping plastic out of the ocean. I also like the look and feel of sand because it instantly reminds me of the ocean, which reminds me of special times and trips with friends and family. Plus who doesn’t want to have all of their pencils in one place!

An exhibit in the 2014 Swell Sculpture Festival, at Currumbin Beach. I think this sculpture would be a great symbol for any one of the many "save the whale" groups.
The whale is made of galvanised chain. The hand is made of chain also, but appears to have been anodised, then selectively heat treated to set the various tempering colours.
Wilpattu sanctuary was decalred as a National Park in 1938, Wilpattu National Park is located on the west coast close to the historical city of Anuradhapura .The dry zone jungle is thickly grown. Wilpattu Natonal Park is home for many villus, or natural lakes which dot the landscape in the Wilpattu National Park. Except for two, These lakes contain rainwater, thus are important for resident and migratory water-birds.
The history of the park is also of interest with ancient ruins having been discovered in Wilpattu National Park. Queen named “Kuweni” (considered to be the mother of the Sinhala race) is said to have lived in the place known as Kalli Villu. Historical evidence also shows the fact that Prince Saliya, son of King Dutugemunu lived in Wilpattu over 2,000 years ago.

16-212 was part of a series of six Catalinas purchased from the US Navy in 1951. They were registered 16-211 through 16-216. Completely overhauled at Aviolanda Papendrecht, the aircraft were flown to New Guinea. Assigned to squadron 321. The 16-211 and 16-213 were lost in 1952 due to flying accidents.
In 1954, 16-212 and 16-216 were flown back to the Netherlands to replace the retired Supermarine Sea Otters of squadron 8 at Valkenburg Naval Air Station. The new task became SAR. On November 8, 1954, the first sea rescue mission was flown.
16-212 left the factory in 1944 with Patrol Bombing Squadron VPB73 of the US Navy. It was used for bombing and patrol flights over the Atlantic Ocean. About 1,600 flying hours have been made. In Dutch service another 1,340 will be added, so for a total of 2,940 flying hours.
On 4 February 1957 the aircraft was withdrawn from strength. Fortunately, it was not demolished, but started a new life as playground equipment at Bosbad Hoeven in Brabant. The Catalina has stood here for years. I myself can still remember a visit to this enormous playground with my primary school class. Unfortunately, the condition of the aircraft deteriorated and the maintenance costs became too high. The end was still looming: the rescue device now had to be rescued itself! Fortunately, Naval Aviation personnel took action. The Military Aviation Museum at Kamp van Zeist took the dismantled aircraft into its depot. Unfortunately, the splashing in the open air did not do the aircraft any good, action was needed again.
In the 1990s, it was again decided to refurbish the Naval Air Base Valkenburg. During this period, unfortunately, major damage was caused to the wings. During a storm, the wings stored in the open air were carried away on the wind. They were found badly damaged the next day. To prevent further damage, the fuselage, wings and engines were safely stored shortly afterwards at the brand new National Military Museum in Soesterberg.
In 2019, the only flightworthy Catalina in the Netherlands was sold to an American private individual and left the country. The Neptune Association Foundation, which maintains this aircraft, turned to the National Military Museum with an offer to refurbish the Catalina. To exhibitable condition. Flying will never be possible again, and that is not the ambition, but exhibiting is.
The National Military Museum, the Neptune Association foundation, and the National Transport Museum in Nieuw-Vennep, where the restoration is taking place, have joined forces for the project. It's a huge job but it would be so nice if it could succeed in the coming years.
Some preservation-minded people turned this apartment building (330 Wythe) into a plea to save the Domino Sugar factory from destruction. Its landmark status is being considered now. Story from curbed.

If you would like to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, and receive His Holy Spirit to begin an ETERNAL destiny in the Christ oversoul, just say this simple prayer to the Lord who loves you:
Jesus Christ, I believe you are God's Messiah. I believe You are the Son of God, who gave Your Life as a sacrifice to save my soul from the torments of Hell. I confess that I am a sinner. Please forgive me.
Please SAVE me and fill me with YOUR HOLY SPIRIT. I dedicate my time on earth to Your mission, and I ask for the great honor of being with You for all eternity.
So please forgive my sins, take control and change my life. Please take my broken pieces and broken heart, and resurrect my Life. Please raise me as God's own child into the holy and powerful soul You want me to be.
I trust You to be my Savior, Redeemer, Provider, Defender, Guide, Friend and LORD throughout eternity. So be it.
Although I cannot even scratch the surface of God's teachings and prophecies about the Messiah over the last six thousand years, I will try my best to briefly explain our need for Salvation. The basics go something like this: All of us have a dual nature. We have a conscience that reminds us of the righteous ways of God, but we also have evil desires.
We are all sinners... you, me, your neighbor, everybody. This dual nature comes from an "original sin" or contamination of the human gene pool many millennia ago. The book of Genesis explains that the fallen angels mixed bloodlines with our ancestors, therefore this "original sin" or evil nature has been genetically passed along through all human generations.
Likewise, we inherited an excommunication from God which was originally intended only for the fallen angels. As a solution to this problem, God sent a sacrificial Messiah into this realm. His name was/is Jesus (Yeshua) the Christ. He had all the Holy Spirit of God at His command, but rather than use that power to reign over the earth, He sacrificed His life and gave up His Holy Ghost. His Holy Spirit remained in the world to indwell humankind, allowing us to Master our nature and reign on earth in His place... literally making us "the Body of Christ."
When we invite His Spirit to indwell us, we literally receive a Holy Spirit into our body and soul... this Spirit is a part of Christ Himself. Upon receiving Christ, you will experience new and holy desires. You will also receive your "calling" which is the knowledge of your purpose on this earth and the ability to achieve it. Unlike evil spirit possessions, God will not step over your free will like some "spiritual rapist" to possess your soul. You must invite Him into your heart, of your own free will.
God doesn't send anyone to Hell... souls choose Hell of their own free will. Jesus Christ continually warns us all, and sends multiple servants of the Lord across our paths throughout our entire lifetime. He has invited all of us to reunite with him, but many people choose to reject Christ and proceed into Hell of their own free will. He is Holy and will only take over and become Lord of your life if you ask of your own free will. This is why you must say the above prayer, and really mean it in your heart, to receive the free gift of His eternal Salvation, His Holy Spirit.
Much like downloading the information from a disc onto the hard drive of a computer or uploading to the "cloud", your soul/identity will then be "uploaded" into the eternal Christ Spirit Oversoul. So even if your body (the disc) is destroyed, your identity lives on forever with Him, in Him. You become One with Christ and He becomes One with you. It is that simple.
God wants to be reunited with all of His children... no one is too sinful. He knows we are sinners and He knows exactly why. An enemy did this to us and our genetic family tree, but God is resurrecting humanity by His Holy Spirit and His (Adam/Christ) bloodline. He has provided a way for us to be reunited with Him forever, so please return to the God who loves you.
For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
