Gimpo's 25
: Gimpo starts to reveal his vision. He wants this thing, this Gimpo M25 spin, to become an annual event. The closest Saturday night/Sunday morning to 21 March each year, to mark the opening of the rave/festival/drug-taking/banging/techno/hippie thing that Gimpo and his weird mates know all about. He wants loads of other people to join in, come out in their cars, vans, trucks, loaded up. A non-stop 25 hour party, road to nowhere sort of thing; car stereos cranked up, people screaming, pumping horns, blowing whistles. Hundreds, thousands, pouring out of Clacky services. Not a race, but a celebration of this broken down modern world, where the M25 would get clogged up, grind to a standstill, the authorities could do nothing - and Gimpo would be king.

Close up of the complete squares I got done so far.
The French knotted sewing machine is my favorite, I wanted it to be like a vintage Singer sewing machine. French knots were a pain but it's matter of practice. Also I used 100% rayon thread to make the flourish details and it made the work harder but since it's my first time at French knotting I like how it looks.
My second favorite is the feather stitch square, I really like the colors, I used lamé thread in one of the "branches", never stitched with that material before, it was tricky but I like challenges.
Dug into the stash for an older favorite (the white/black print), and a newer favorite (the acid green print)..
A giant sampler I've done for the window of Red Door Gallery in Edinburgh. It was not without it's problems but I am pleased with how it turned out. iPod included for scale, bottom left.

The 3u high case is tightly packed, multiple circuit boards, what looks like about a mile of interconnection wire. The UI is very good, some of these old devices are still fun to play with (=creativity-enhancing) today.
Contents - shrimp, crawdads, king crab legs, stone crab legs, mussels, corn, potatoes, and keilbasa, all for $20!!!!
sooooooooo goooooood . . .
Inspired by Pam Garrison's sampler. The bird pattern was shared from her blog. It was fun to work on the small sampler focusing only on the tiny bit I was working on , with no plan in mind.
I got my FWS book for Christmas and these are the first 3 blocks I've made!
