Day #16
My Sax, more of a conversation piece than an instrument...one has to pick it up to create the music, sadly I have let that slip. Many years ago it was the focus of my day, hours in the practice room, alas, I will let the REAL musicians play the music, I've got other talents to explore...
i try to mix things up with my posts and not post too many shots from the same place. ok most of the last few months have been from peru, but then i've been in peru for over 100 days. i'll rephrase that, i was in peru for the last 100 days but late last night i crossed another border and arrived in the eighth country on my trip: ecuador. i don't know how long it will be before you see ecuador as i still have quite a backlog of processed and unprocessed peruvian photos. i'll see how my mood takes me. it's not helping matters that this shot is my fourth from the small pueblo of sauce, and if i have my way there are at least two more i want to post. maybe i should increase my uploads to more than one-a-day, or perhaps not worry about it so much. one moment... yup, that second option worked a treat.
this nice peruvian man gave me and my friend some free coco (coconut) and cacao (cocoa) which he grew near the blue lake - here's the original

Much the same view as CIMG0639_1 but not only has the online card punch been moved to the front of the power supply part 'B' but also my IBM keypunch has been placed in front of magnetic tape deck 'A' under the window. This is one of the older type IBM keypunches with rounded corners, in fact a bit more than a keypunch as it has not just a program held on a punched card which rotates as in a normal keypunch but it also has a plugboard and three or four input/output sockets on the back. I bought it with a Friden Flexowriter and I unwisely rejected the bundle of cables which came with it which allowed data to be transeferred between the two devices. This enabled not only paper tape to punched card transfer and punched card to paper tape transfer but also the printing of a deck of cards onto paper without using a computer. Not that the paper tape was in ASCII code but an extended binary coded decimal code, probably EBCDIC but different manufacturers and countries had local versions of it, for instance the UK had a pound sign and 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 for the fractions of a penny in the day when there were 960 farthings to the pound. Shame it wans't a thousand :-)
Note most of the many reels of second hand wire hanging from six inch nails in the roof truss must have been tidied away. Just a few remain.
mari brought this german christmas ornament home from heidelberg. it called to her on a previous trip, and she hunted down the same place when she was back in germany. just to bring me little anthropomorphic peas. i have good friends.
Same field as the previous shot www.flickr.com/photos/jackieb163/71026105/, but I liked this one better because of you can see Downtown Corpus in the back ground.
The same vid after tweaks with the fast colour corrector and the Neat Video noise plugin (demo). There was a gang of noisy Rainbow Lorikeets outside this morning so I've added a clip of them. It seems to have been cropped so I'll need to investigate why that is.
Same school of fish from the previous picture. Just more grunts.
Taken on French Reef near Key Largo, FL.
Same Photo of AM Radio diff treatment, taken whilst he was busy building some fabulous new creation at his sim the far away. Bit of a sneeky pic.

Same place as my last post, but different composition. Two more pictures will follow shortly so stay tuned:)
My great grandmother's wedding picture with her parents picture in the frame in the background. The original photo of Nettie had been taken outside, though she still was beside the chair. The chair remains in the family.
