Located in Wake County 10 miles northwest of downtown Raleigh, William B. Umstead State Park is a cherished retreat from bustling urban life. The park features an extensive network of hiking and multiuse trails, as well as three manmade lakes and their tributaries that are perfect for fishing. Both park entrances offer picnic shelters, and Crabtree Creek offers camping areas. Group camps and the historic Maple Hill Lodge let visitors experience a rustic overnight experience without typical modern camping amenities.
The logs and wood in this kitchen give the room a warm rustic feel, that can only be achieved in a custom built log home.

Grotto and Summer House.
by White Watson
Originally built in 1798, remodelled in 1820.
The Grotto is constructed of massive sandstone boulders, built into the hillside with a curving front and a roughly round-arched entrance. It is surmounted by a rustic timber summer house of eight tree trunks supporting a conical slate roof.
These images were made during a journey down Rustic Road 44 in Marinette County on June 24, 2017.
R-44, Right-of-Way Road, crosses two creeks and is adjacent to the Lake Noquebay State Wildlife
Area and Marinette County Forest land. R-44 was originally part of the Wisconsin-Michigan Railroad.
Wisconsin's Rustic Roads system was created to preserve many of the state's scenic, lightly traveled country roads. Features of Rustic Roads include rugged terrain, native vegetation and wildlife, or open areas with agricultural vistas.
