Sage Thrasher
Summer Lake Wildlife Area, OR
During breeding season, adult Sage Thrashers are extremely secretive around their nests and become especially shy. When returning to the nest they will typically fly to within 30 ft of the nest then sneak the rest of the way in on foot. When they are disturbed, they will often run on the ground instead of flying off. They prefer running secretively with tail cocked upward rather than taking flight.
As well as being runners, they are incredible songsters. During territory establishment in the spring, they are less secretive as they raise and flutter both wings while they sing seemingly endless melodies of bubbling notes and chatters to attract a mate. Incredible songsters, one male went on for 22 minutes without a break. (Cornell Labs, All About Birds)
Isola delle femmine (Island of the females) is the one you see in the background in the photos. This place is the ideal for a morning jog, away from smog, traffic and noise.
Blue Lake beans are a classic Italian heirloom climbing bean.
The beans are stringless and the plant can grown up to 2m.
I like them steamed with butter, salt and pepper.
Today I picked just over 1kg.
Made a few modifications ( yes, one of them was a big fat gun) and took a better picture. I'm rather pleased with how it all turned out, there's a lot more I could add to it than previously thought. Currently building a MOC for it, And it's going to be awesome! Should be done within this week. Enjoy!
渋谷ストリームに行って来ました。
今日は代官山へつながる渋谷川沿いの遊歩道を少し下流まで歩いてみました。
薄汚い雑居ビルに挟まれた遊歩道は続きます。やっぱりここも少し下水の臭いがします。
夕闇の中、googleが入った高層ビルを背景に落書きとステッカーのベンチで電子たばこを吸って佇む人達がいます。
ここもブレードランナーの世界でした。
I went to Shibuya stream.
Today I walked a little down the promenade along the Shibuya River leading to Daikanyama.
The promenade between dirty and low buildings continues.
After all, there is a little smell of sewage here.
In the dusk, there are people smoking electronic cigarettes on graffiti and sticker benches against the background of google skyscrapers.
This was also the world of blade runners.
Children flying their kites at a rice terrace in Bali. In some parts of Asia, kite flying is more than just a passing childhood pasttime. There are kite flying festivals and competitions. In Bali, there is an annual international kite flying festival held in Sanur Beach every July. Traditional giant kites (4 metres in width and almost 10 metres in length) are made and flown competitively by teams from the villages of Denpasar. The event is a seasonal religious festival intended to send a message of gratitude to the Hindu gods to create abundant crops and harvests.
The Road Runner model, namesake to the popular Warner Brothers cartoon character, was first created for model year 1968 to be a lower cost alternative to Plymouth’s front line musclecar, the GTX that shared the same platform. The one above appears to be of model year 1970.

A former crew member gave an excellent insight to operations with the type during the cold war. Entering service in March 1958 I last came across this aircraft at RAF Cosford in 1982 when I photographed it outside due to a hangar reshuffle, it was then employed as a instructional airframe (8106M) from 1970 (when flown in) to 1988 after sale to this museum
