Looking a little worse for wear in the wind as well as sporting a not so impressed look.

Rufous Hummingbird (Female)

Colorado Springs, CO

I had dozens of hummingbirds in my backyard last summer and I'm hopeful they will return any day now as Spring has arrived and the flowers are blooming.

A bit of brightness on a lovely day.

Orange Ranunculus

I love Ranunculus, densely layered, and this bloom opened beautifully, not always evident, their stems are extremely delicate and do tend to just collapse before the bud can open into a gorgeous voluptuous bloom...

With love to you and thank you for ALL your faves and comments, M, (* _ *)

These birds are natives of Africa and have been introduced to many countries, particularly in the Caribbean. Somehow a small population has established itself in Southern California and they seem to be doing quite well based on the fact that they can be seen in several different areas of the state.

Kalij Pheasant (Lophura Leucomelanos). This whole trip was a blessing from God.

Cant decided if this little lady was calling out to me to remind me she knew I was there or just cause the wind was annoying her feathers

Two white pelicans chaw the fat on a beautiful morning along San Francisco Bay. I think they're gossiping about the goose in the background. These pelicans are a gabby bunch.

A little breeze was causing some sweet wee ruffled feathers today

This female Sparrowhawk stopped in her tracks mid air when she saw me...took us both by surprise!...she was hot on the heels of a flock of Gold Finches. As was I!! 😁Give me a Sparrowhawk any day though!

♥ Thank you very much for your visits, faves, and kind comments ♥

This was an old crow that I saw whilst visiting Marwell Zoo a couple of years ago. I really like how old and wise it looked, as well as the shape and textures of its feathers after it had ruffled them.
