This is the preferred perch for this male ruby-throated hummingbird. Sure, it perches other places, but not as much as this perch. As you can see, it can't stay long before it is time to launch another defense of his territory.

Trying something different to help get better photos of the hummingbirds when natural lighting is too low. I placed two dome worklight fixtures on a light stand and place LED bulbs in the fixtures. I think it helps and got lots of decent photos but need brighter LED bulbs.
