In July 1950, four RTs (1692, 1702, 3070 & 3114) were loaded on board a steamer at Hull en route to Scandanavia, on the first leg of an ambitious tour through seven European countries to publicise the Festival of Britain which took place in 1951. Each vehicle on its return to Britain carried a GB plate and special commemorative interior plaque. One of the four, RT 3114 (PR) stands at Poplar Baths on the 277A. Wednesday 26th February 1975. 2H-2.

Four months after this photograph was taken, Brixton's RTs on route 133 were replaced by DM vehicles. RT 4043 (BN) waits at Streatham garage, about to turn and head north again. Monday 21st October 1974. 2D-10.
This was my first time ever riding the RT...i can see why everyone in the Borough complains now...its worse than i thought it could be, and it was quiet, it must really suck in rush hours.
First port of call on our tour was the Chester to Burtonwood run, where RT 190 appeared. This bus was to play a large part in my meeting my wife!
