Abby said that Ben had dressed Roxy and had put her dress on back to front (as seen in pic) . . . which is now a new baby fashion, because I turned the dress round after her lunch, which meant the front of her dress was then clean for the afternoon. Good, eh?
I have a cold and have had a Bourbon to make me temporarily better. The decorating is finished and looks great - despite the fretting builder who said the sun hadn't shone today. And what has that to do with it? Well, apparently it will show up any little imperfection which can then be put right. I jest not. What a great man! Had a lovely day with Roxy, despite her teething. I have taught her alliterations - biting bunny's bottom badly . . . a side effect of teething . . .

Both Roxy and Elsie were home today. Elsie is so good with Roxy and played with her in the morning. At lunch Roxy unexpectedly fell off her chair ( a surprise for us all, especially her) and hit the floor with a thud. She seems to have recovered well. When Roxy went for a nap after lunch, Elsie and I read her book, did some of the homework she has to do during the holiday, played Uno and Connect 4.

The Roxy was destroyed by fire in January 2015. Currently being rebuilt the theater will open sometime in 2022.

Roxy stayed the night with us and slept through . . . and I slept hardly a wink! She was a great guest.
I don't know what has happened to Corel, butuall my settings have changed . . . maybe a move to make me update, so I am having trouble processing photos . . .
tomorrow we are going to east London, as Abby flies out to Bangkok - a difficult job where she as a designer in London has had to juggle makers of her costumes across the other side of the world. So we are over in east London lending a helping hand for an afternoon to Rachel and Ben. Hope Elsie will be well this week and up for a photo . . . last week she was unwell.

I had a Roxy day today and yesterday evening young friends came round to collect some of Roxy's baby clothes (so I wasn't on flickr) - they are expecting their first on Easter Day.
And here I am now . . . starting to catch up . . .

we have had a couple of days without the internet - in a way it has been restful, but I would have liked to have uploaded my pics of Roxy yesterday, after my day with her. I worked in a nursery school for 10 years so I can't say that all children aged 2.5 - 3 years have a volume control = loud, because I have witnessed some withdrawn and some naturally quiet children - but most have this loud setting. With Roxy yesterday I began to whisper which made her stop. Why aren't you talking properly, Grangran? she asked. Because you are talking loudly enough for the two of us, I said! And oddly, it worked. I love her enthusiasm.
Catching up will proceed at low volume . . .

I had a Roxy day today and G was with Abby for a costume fitting. Roxy and G have met before and she gets on really well with him. He thinks she is 'so cute' and clearly they were meant to have lunch together. G managed to duck everything Roxy put his way ....
Once again, Roxy graciously endures the ignominy of being dragged out into a late afternoon snow squall for yet another photo-op.

Elsie wasn't in photo mood and nowadays I play it by ear, knowing that if a couple of weeks pass and I say pretty please I will probably get a favourable response.

the week has disappeared. First east London on Monday and the usualy kerfuffle of mummy going away (Abby is in Bangkok this week) yesterday G & D came over for a meal, and today the exhaustion of another bad night on top of little sleep last Saturday and tomorrow we are going to Gloucester to see Christopher and Caroline and John. Hopefully will be back on Friday and Sunday to start catching up, having an evening meal with Claire and Earl on Saturday and back to east London on Monday . . . . and then next week seems relatively calm . . . . oh dear, I see a tax return coming on!

I am not a very good pupil in Roxy's school. I find myself being told off before I've even . . . breathed! This is indignation at her pupil taking pictures! It gets worse but is maybe too blurred to post . . . she makes me laugh.

Formerly a private theatre, it is now run by a community board. I particularly like the metal Roxy sign on top and the now inoperative neon sigh above the marquee.

it is not often I have Roxy captive for a few photographs with my Nikon. But today Roxy came over to us, instead of me looking after her at her home in east London, because the windows there are being replaced - and it was obviously safer, warmer and more friendly here today. Gramps was on good form and got out his splendid Alice in Wonderland pop-up book which is a work of art, and I took a few photos . . .
Princes Street Gardens from today's walk, some folks sitting on the benches (no shortage of seats with so few people around), lady in the cool Roxy Music T-shirt observing safe social distancing from both sides of seating, walking down the middle.

For those who follow my journal ...you will know that Roxy is mad about horses. In fact, when she grows up she wants to be a horse. She is lucky enough to have an aunt, Abby’s brother’s partner, who is also mad about horses...so much so that she was the British side saddle champion. She and Charlie live in her stable yard in containers that Charlie has made into their home, since they are unable to build a permanent residence there.. The BEARS spent last weekend there....
Peter and I are in Norfolk, so I am taking a Flickr rest for the week, but will be posting a couple more Roxy pics that Abby took. Back soon ...

If I had to guess, and really I can only guess, what Roxy is thinking, it would have to be something along the lines of, ‘So, it’s snowing again. What’s the big deal?’. After all, she wasn’t fooled by the Mock-Spring-Sampler we had back in February. Sure, she enjoyed it while it lasted but, it was still Winter no matter how much we wished otherwise. So, with her hoodie and slicker, she was ready for another adventure or even just a walk around the block.
