The Palouse area is a photographer’s dream located in Eastern, Washington. And 2013 saw the largest planting of Canola in Whitman County! The gently rolling hills of wheat, barley, peas, lentils and canola mean spectacular panoramic views and the wildflowers and country roads dotted with 100+ year old barns mean you will never be short of subject matter. May and June are the best months to capture the yellows and greens, July and August for the gold and brown.
Hope I will get the chance to visit this beautiful place to catch different color of scene !
Wisconsin & Southern's Madison bound freight, L864, rolls into Lodi Wisconsin on this comfortable spring morning. Not far behind the power, one can see the tell tails that would protect brakemen from being knocked off of the top of freight cars, by ropes that would brush them and alert about a low clearance ahead.

Hartwell Railroad's road freight works south toward Elberton, GA to interchange with CSX. Former NS high hood GP38-2 #5130 is in charge of the pretty sizable and fully loaded train, along with former Conrail and St. Lawrence & Atlantic GP38's.
CSX hotshot R191 blazes west past fall colors in the Maryland countryside behind a trio of forty-series EMDs. The B&O signals and standard cab motors are from a simpler time on the Philadelphia Subdivision.
Of course, CSX removed these classic signals and replaced them with modern equipment a few years ago.
BNSF’s Sandpoint local, led by EMD SD60M No. 1412, rolls eastward toward the E. Dufort Road grade crossing at Algoma, Idaho, on January 28, 2020.
