I paid R45 for about 2 hours parking today. I didn't notice that this parking area is for longer term parking only and it costs R45 for the 1st day or part of a day!

Some guy tried to steal CD's or something like that from the Megastore. The gangbanger security chased him, caught him, kicked him a couple of times, brought him into the store and then stripped him clean.
FUN AND FROLIC -- Employees of the Taft National Bank and the Oildorado Sherf's Posse were taken by surprise late Friday afternoon by a raid on the bank by the Oildorado "Wooden Nickel Gang." Three bank tellers were taken "hostage" in the phony shootout, and Bank President Gene Smith said $50,000 in wooden nickels was stolen. The Sherf's Posse cornered the robbers in the parking lot and a shootout, with blacks, ensues. At least one gang member "died with his boots on," in the above photo. Smith said he plans to post the bank with armed guards throughout the remainder of Oildorado Days to ensure that any deposits of "wooden nickels," will be safe. (Midway Driller photo by Tim Neher.)

No one was more surprised than Uncle Scrooge, when one of his three grandnephews robbed him on the way to the night depository. Apparently the little duck had developed a bad quack habit and needed to finance his addiction. Unfortunately, no arrest has been forthcoming since Scrooge never could tell which of his relatives was Huey, Dewey, or Louie.

(Dallas, TX – October 28, 2014) Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins agreed today, that the convictions for Stanley O. Mozee, 55, and Dennis Lee Allen, 52, should be overturned for the 1999 murder of Reverend Jesse Borns, Jr. on the basis of
prosecutorial misconduct.
Mozee and Allen were convicted of the robbery and stabbing death of Mr. Borns in April 1999. Each man received a life sentence for this offense, and now both will be released from prison.
The Conviction Integrity Unit of the Dallas DA’s office began re-investigating these cases after being approached by the Innocence Project. Attorneys with the Innocence Project were allowed to review our files in late 2008, in accordance with the open file policy established by District Attorney Craig Watkins.
It was only after this open file review, that the Conviction Integrity Unit and the Innocence Project discovered letters
written by jailhouse informants who were ultimately called as witnesses by the State.
In these letters, the witnesses demanded certain benefits from a former Dallas County prosecutor in exchange for testifying, and/or sought to have the prosecutor deliver on promises that the witnesses believed had been made in exchange for their testimony.
The record in this case reflects that the letters, and the substantive discussions with the witnesses were not disclosed at either Mozee’s or Allen’s trials. Consequently, at least one witness was allowed to mislead jurors about why he was testifying.
“This is an example of prosecutorial misconduct that occurred in prior administration and the Dallas DA’s office must admit that these types of tactics used to win a conviction was wrong back then, and it is wrong today,” said DA Craig Watkins. “Allowing a jury to be swayed due to prosecutors playing dirty just further erodes the trust of the criminal justice system.”
