The Sumpter Valley Railroad.
Enjoyed an afternoon chasing the Sumpter Valley Railroad which runs between the ghost town of McEwen and the Gold Rush town of Sumpter along the Elkhorn Scenic Byway in Baker County Oregon .
The Sumpter Valley Railroad is open weekends and major holidays, Memorial Day Weekend through the last weekend in September. Round trips take just over two hours, including a layover in either McEwen or Sumpter. There are also many special events throughout the season, ranging from train robberies to photo specials.
The Railroad’s station is located in Oregon’s Sumpter Dredge State Park and visitors to the railroad can also tour this iconic gold dredge during their visit to Sumpter and the railroad

HELP NEEDED IDENTIFYING ROBBERY SUSPECT: CCSO detectives are asking for the
public's help in identifying a man suspected of robbing a convenience store
on Smallwood Drive in Waldorf in November. The suspect entered the business,
approached the counter as if he were going to purchase an item and told the
clerk he had a weapon. He threatened the employee and demanded money. The
victim complied and the suspect fled. The suspect is described as a white
male, 5'10", slim build, wearing a 2007 blue Colonial Beach Drag Ways
jacket, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. Anyone with information about the
suspect's identity is asked to call Det. P. Tona with the CCSO at (301)
932-2222. Callers wishing to remain anonymous may contact Crime Solvers at

submit a web tip. A cash reward is being offered for the tip that leads to

This flashllight was left in my student dwelling my sophomore year. Over Christmas somebody broke into the rooming house I lived in and took a cassette tape deck that hooked up to a stereo system. They left the turntable.
And their flashlight.

There was an armed robbery at Jordbro today. Two men held up a security guard vehicle from Loomis at Moränvägen at the Jordbro Galleria. The robbers disappeared on mopeds. I was in the area and decided to stay around. Took some photos of police cars, onlookers and a police helicopter that circled the area for half an hour before landing in a park. More police arrived and after 20 minutes the helicopter did another search of the area.

When I went for a lunchtime walk, I found a local jewellers had been cordoned off. It had been, as they say, 'done over'.
This poor little puffin didn't make it back to his burrow fast enough and got mugged by this black headed gull.....it's a tough life for puffins. The gulls will knock them out of the sky and are really brutal on the ground.

For whatever reason people feel compelled to shoot this sign but no others in the area. Maybe it has something to do with Pretty Boy Floyd? It does add a little something extra when you are standing there reading this sign.
In five visits in as many months, I have never had any problems in Cuenca (though I have come close to being robbed at dusk). My good luck has officially run out-- last night, thieves attempted to pick my lock and then broke my window. I didn't have anything of real value in my car, but they did steal beach towels, two pairs of shoes, and other miscellaneous items.
