Today while I was shooting sunset on this beautiful warm sunny Sunday. Some other people went to the work...they had parked their car under the bridge, nearby my bicycle, put their hoods, hide and just wait for me to finish my shooting so they can rob me and take my camera, bag and all I had in that moment with me...
Three of them was involved - two of them had a homemade baseball bats, and there was a girl too (inside the car) who was keeping guard for them...
Somehow I saw them, immediately put my camera in the bag, I secure it and then start thinking a way to take my bike.
Yes, I call the cops, they came...like in all movies... it would be too late (about 15 min later) BUT a guy (with big German shepherd) from some reason was jogging in that area, I stop him, we talk a few second, he releases his dog just for any case and together we walk in other direction.
These thieves were cowards, saw us and the dog together and then went. Police came (late), saw nothing, do nothing, and went too.
I took my bike and went home.
More and more stuff like this happens in this small, peaceful town! Should we just...get use to it?! What is happening to the people? And what would happen if their robbery was successful? How would that end?

So the night we were robbed the cops apprehended a car in Rainier Valley full of gang bangers smoking pot. One of them was on parole which gave the police the authority to search him. They found he had Robin’s drivers license and a couple of her credit cards and they booked him in jail. When they looked through his phone they found a video he had accidentally recorded while robbing our house. You can hear several others in our house with him. They were gang bangers and the cops think they rode the bus up to my neighborhood looking for places to rob and they must have seen us leave the house. There was probably a lookout outside the house ready to call in case we came back, and this is why he was holding his phone the whole time. His shoes show in the video for a split second and they are the same shoes he was wearing when arrested. This should hopefully be enough evidence to place him at the scene of the crime. He will be prosecuted soon for residential burglary and possession of stolen property. We haven’t heard any word about his accomplices and we haven’t recovered any of our possessions.
Insurance covered some of the losses but we’re out a couple grand. I’ve spent the last month dealing with the aftermath. Lots and lots of paperwork and other unpleasantries. I’ve been bidding for used gear on ebay and have finally replaced some of my camera equipment. We went up to the Skagit valley on Friday and I was able to take some pictures for the first time since the robbery.
I want to thank everyone for their kind words and generous offers of support. Sorry I haven’t been able to respond to everyone, but I haven’t been on Flickr. I’ve had too much other crap to deal with, and I had to get some gear for an upcoming trip to the Southwest we had booked before we were robbed.

next to my bed is this beautiful cabinet that houses my 'unmentionables' - mostly sex toys. when my house was broken into this was one of the ransacked spaces. nothing was taken - not even the hitachi magic wand. these people did not know their shit.
when the policeman came to inspect the house the day after, he took heaps of photos of the various disruptions. when he left, the top cabinet (the one full of dildos) was closed. he closed it to take the photo. how modest.

Bank of America was robbed. I thought the red was blood but of course it's from the ink packet hidden inside the bill fold. When the ink pack exploded the stack of 20s were abandoned on the sidewalk.

Large manhunt initiated! A spectacular and mysterious robbery of a previously unknown painting report the international news. A valuable landscape painting was stolen last night from the private property of an English count. He had inherited the picture and kept it secret so far. It was secured with the latest light barrier technology. One wonders how the robbers could overcome all barriers. The ransom note is still expected. (Note: Or, for once, it's not about money – and the two little thieves (sister and brother) have just got their rightful inheritance back?)
/ Well, it's not a work of Turner ;-) It's a button that I painted at the age of about 15 years with this landscape – long ago – and I have found in the old button box ... The size is 0,63 inch, the eyelet for sewing is on the back. The two figures are from children's surprise eggs.

Große Fahndung eingeleitet! Einen spektakulärer und mysteriöser Raub eines bisher noch unbekannten Gemäldes melden die internationalen Nachrichten. Aus dem Privatbesitz eines englischen Grafen wurde gestern Nacht ein wertvolles Landschaftsgemälde entwendet. Dieser hatte das Bild geerbt und bisher geheim gehalten. Es war mit der neuesten Lichtschrankentechnik gesichert. Man fragt sich, wie die Räuber alle Schranken überwinden konnten. Die Lösegeldforderung wird noch erwartet. (Anmerkung: Oder es geht mal ausnahmsweise nicht um Geld – und die beiden kleinen Diebe (Schwester und Bruder) haben sich nur ihr rechtmäßiges Erbe zurückgeholt?)
/ Na gut, es ist doch kein Kunstwerk von Turner ;-) Es ist ein Knopf, den ich im Alter von ca. 15 Jahren mit dieser Landschaft bemalt habe – lange her – und den ich in der alten Knopfdose wiedergefunden habe ... Die Größe beträgt 16 mm, die Öse zum Annähen ist auf der Rückseite. Die beiden Figuren sind aus Kinder-Überraschungseiern.

I had my laptop stolen from my house... there was a robbery last night whilst we were all out of the house. I lost a lot of work.. both photographs and written work. I have learnt to back up my work the hard way. I haven't lost a massive amount, as I back up now and again, but still it's frustrating. We had CSI round today to take finger prints, was so interesting to watch them dust around.
So annoying, there were quite a few pictures I'd wanted to upload... but now they are gone :( this is just an old shot I found, I had more hair then haha.
Well apart from that I have had nice things happen to me. Having such fun work experience at the moment, assisted a filmed photo shoot for a magazine cover, and will be assisting another cover shoot again soon. Such great experience, I'm learning so much.

With the last of the daylight ebbing away across the snowfields of Buckinghamshire, GBRf's 66758 "The Pavior" approaches the site of the Great Train Robbery near Mentmore. Timed at 3.36pm, about 15 minutes before sunset, the train is 4Z08, 11:29 Felixstowe - Birch Coppice.
Edit: White fronted terns, Carey's Bay. I'm sure one had a fish and I'm not sure which one ended up with it. This is two shots combined as they flew over my head.
Our weekend is almost over and I'm glad as it is been a lot of work for me. Strangely I'm looking forward to Monday when it should quieten down.

The Nov. 26, 1930, robbery of the Rochester State Bank quickly became a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style affair, complete with a car chase in which the robbers’ car was riddled by shots from a police officer’s submachine gun. “Four bandits are nabbed on a girl’s tip,” blared the next day’s banner headline in the Illinois State Journal.
The sensational events actually began in Kincaid, where four “business-like” robbers — one carrying what the newspaper described as a light machine gun — held up the Kincaid Trust & Savings Bank about 10:30 a.m. The four, along with a fifth man who stayed outside with the group’s cars — a green Hudson (said later to be bullet-proof) and a rumble-seat Ford — escaped with $3,000 in cash and $2,000 in travelers checks.
The gang apparently drove west to Rochester, where three men carrying pistols entered the State Bank of Rochester about 11 a.m. They drove off with another $3,000 in cash and the bank’s cashier, J. Earl Bell, whom they released a few blocks away.
The Kincaid robbers had disconnected that bank’s telephone, but word of the crime had been sent to Springfield by telegraph, and Springfield telegraph operator Sophie Tuczkus alertly notified city police that the robbers might be heading toward Springfield.
Springfield Chief of Detectives C.W. Jesberg and Patrolmen Louis Redpath and Primm Estill drove east of town on the South Grand Avenue Road, where they came upon a Chrysler sedan whose driver — a known police character named Frank Martini — claimed he was having engine trouble. Primm took Martini to the police station for questioning. The Journal described what happened next.
About five minutes later a Ford sedan traveling at a rapid rate of speed enroute to Springfield passed Jesberg and Redpath. The two officers took after the machine, in which three of the bandits were riding.
As the bandits’ machine neared Fifteenth street on South Grand avenue, they almost struck an Illinois Power bus and were forced to turn out of the way, running up over a curb.
The bandits, realising that the officers were following them only a short distance behind, turned north on Fourteenth street.
Jesberg sitting in the rear seat of the machine told Redpath to drive to the opposite side of the street, while he leveled a sub machine gun on the bandit’s car. After firing several shots through the machine and wounding two of the men, the driver … pulled his automobile over to the curb near the Cook Street intersection.
Police later claimed Martini had been waiting with the Chrysler so the robbers could switch cars. The Ford had been reported stolen in Chicago the day before. The loot taken in Rochester was found in the car, police said, along with three .45-caliber revolvers.
The three men arrested in the Ford — Jack McCoy, Arthur “Archie” Brown, and Ted Patterson — were eventually sentenced to between one year and life in the state penitentiary for the Rochester stickup. A Sangamon County grand jury refused to charge Martini with being part of the holdup gang, and he was released from jail — but police immediately ordered him to leave town.
