On this day last year we were exploring the back roads of the Palouse in eastern Washington. I think this barn with the collapsed roof has been photographed many times, but, what the hell, here is mine to add to the collection :)

"Sorry to tell you, pretty lady, but you're fucked."

"Well, all right, if that's what I have to do to get a ride."

This is the roadside view there at Oxbow Bend in the Grand Teton National Park. Stacked the ND filters here to get this late morning long exposure.

What was even more special is that about 30 seconds after finishing this long exposure me and about 10 other photographers were treated to a mother moose and her baby crossing the road and then descending down into the river proceeding to swim across the Snake River. Needless to say I ran very quickly to the car to grab the long lens ...

Couple of those shots are in the comments:

...isn't it a beautiful tree!!?

admin. invitations only, please. thanks.

While in GTNP in late '19, I stopped to get a closeup shot of this enormous bull bison while drinking along side of the road.

Looks to have been putting on its Winter coat in preparation for the Season to come.

Such powerful animals they are............

Thank y'all for your views and kind remarks.

Have a great Wednesday.

Not found as common as it use to be this falcon is familiar to most people as the bird that can be seen hovering over roadsides and in the open countryside for long periods as if it was suspended on a wire. The male is smaller and has a blue-grey head and tail while the female seen here has her underparts all brown, spotted and with black.

The first coffee for the day, the act of slowly awakening, the way the sunlight hurts your eyes, the feeling of dislocation, of being between here and there and not quite aware of where any of these terms belong -- you get the picture, i hope...

Mill barn: Had to stand in the middle of the road to get this view, which was beautiful in the afternoon sun despite the hideous electric pole. Waterwheel in the pond weir (? please correct me if I'm wrong; I have limited knowledge of this type of engineering) is just to the right and the stream gurgles merrily off beneath the barn to the left...

Propped up and hanging in there.

This waterfall along the Chief Joseph Highway (WY 296) appears during the Spring runoff. Quite a bit of water this year, I don’t remember seeing water at this location during the summer. The water falls over till deposited by the Pleistocene Crandall Glacier. At the falls the till overlies Archean granite and gneiss. After going over the falls, the water flows down the borrow pit of the highway.

今週末は好天でしたが色々あって撮影に行けませんでした。

なので在庫放出です。この写真は去年横浜で撮影しました。この町では歩道にもこんな綺麗な花がが植えられて入る様です。

It was fine this weekend, but I couldn't go to shoot because of chores.

So it is an inventory release. This photo was taken in Yokohama last year.It seems that such beautiful flowers are planted on the sidewalk in this town.

At the end of a fruitful session in Hillock wood, I was rewarded by this blast of late afternoon sunshine illuminating a small patch of trees at the side of the road. It was getting a bit dark by the roadside and was glad of the in-body stabilisation of the little Oly!

A view of the front of this mini empire. It includes a store, a tour of the house in the rock, a tiny zoo, and a gift shop... and a bust of FDR carved into the rock... so much going on here (note the jeep on top of the rock)!
