So excited about the new site revamp! Hope you like it. xo

This summer, I was quite lucky. My friend Debra worked out at the marina restaurant and ended up serving two gentlemen who she heard talking about the old Glasgow Air Force Base. They wanted to renovate it and were especially interesting in revamping the abandoned hospital. They needed a photographer for before and after shots. Debra immediately gave me their number and in the end, five of us ended up getting to explore the old hospital including my friend Brittany who is starting to get into photography. It was a fantastic and spooky experience and we loved every moment. And Brittany's husband Todd held himself in check enough to only jump out and scare us once :) Unfortunately it seems that the plans for renovating this place fell through, but at least my friends and I got our chance to explore it!

Home of the Adventurous is probably the perfect slogan for this place. When I begin to write something down about this place I honestly don't know where to begin. So I guess I should start by saying that almost everything you will be seeing in these photos is abandoned. This is a former cold war air force base that was basically left to rot by the government after less than 10 years of use. There are a few families that live in the condos still, but I would say 90 or more percent of these homes are empty. The schools are decaying, as is the hospital and all other buildings except those owned by Boeing. Boeing owns the runway and uses it for test purposes. And instead of moving their employees into the empty condos they set up manufactured homes for them.

The weather in Saint Marie is especially brutal, terribly hot dry summers and fierce awful winters. Saint Marie is like an island of condos and abandoned buildings in a great sea of prairie--nothing else is around it for miles and miles. It is true desolation. And when you drive the broken streets and see the condos with those big windows looking at you like empty eyes it is like you are in another world entirely. Then you see the signs set up by Boeing saying not to go any further and that essentially they are watching you--it's like something from a movie. I encourage you to look up other people's photos of Saint Marie and the things you will see will haunt you. Operating tables and beds left up in the hospital. Robes left hanging in the church. Everyone just walked away one day and this is what remains. If you are especially adventurous you can move here--the condos are a steal. A beautiful one fully furnished just sold for 30,000 dollars and there are others for much less than that.

The lounge of Rorem Hall, with walls taken down.

Work started in May to completely renovate four residence halls in 14 months.

A simple moc, but I've always wanted to make a revamp of this guy ever since I got his mask, I decided to add red to the color scheme to make him pop out more, his feet resembling water helicopter skids, and overall I tried to capture the dynamic feel of the star wars x-wing starfighters.

Inside the spanakopita-bagel.

Lately I've had this thing for spanakopita. I've also always had a thing for fresh bagels. Although not St. Viateur Bagel Shop, St. Urbain bagels (when fresh) satisfy. On this visit to St. Lawrence Market I saw something that was like a dream come true, the fusion of a bagel with spanakopita! Flakey exterior, with a moist spinach and feta puree interior, this little creation was the best of both worlds. Yummers.

A room in Pauley Hall with new paint and plaster. New floor coverings will be installed, as well.

The new crossing for the Rock Creek Trail at the P St NW exit. Rock Creek Park, Washington, DC.

This crossing has long been in need of improvement, but this design has several flaws.

First, for south-bound cyclists (traveling to the left) it fails to visually indicate that it's the crossing they should take rather than the P St exit. That's because the crossing requires a sharp left. The trail should have been given a slight curve so riders are led into the crossing rather than suggesting they continue uphill.

Second, while it is nice to have a new paved surface on the right side of the exit ramp, there was enough room here they could have allowed a two-foot buffer with the road.

So yeah, Noah was a pretty important character to me back when I was 16 and writing dumb OC fic. Though to be fair, I mainly saw him as an extension of Kiryna, my Japanese Momoko doll since they (still) are the most expensive 1/6th figures I’ve spent on them separately, yet happen to have ultra awkward collector doll bodies and work really cutely as a couple, since Noah had one of the tallest bodies for an adult 1/6th figure while Kiryna has one of the smaller adult female bodies on this scale.

I’m really proud of being able to finally get a hunky looking face out of that awkward sculpt and haircut, and I’m finally getting my money’s worth heh.

Housing in the West End. Former Cruddas Park council-built tower blocks now refurbished and marketed as Riverside Dene. Only half of the original blocks remain; they were built by Wimpey to a modular Scandinavian design known as the standard point block. In 2010 they were reburbished to designs by Cole Thompson Anders Architects undertaken by Wates Living Space.

A half empty Scarborough Market

Toxic Reapa was my second breakout set and he was pretty slick at the time, like Evo. I was inspired by Beardly Designs Voltix design and wanted to use that frame for something else. And Toxic Reapa seemed to fit that torso pretty well. Credit to him for the torso, arms and backpack design.

The original's stature was one of my favourite things about him, so whilst making him taller he's still not as tall as Evo, The guns of the original were terrible, so I gave him some real guns that he can holster. The tanks on his back are the best thing I've adapted from the original. I can't explain it well, but those tanks are the only trans neon green parts and they stand out superbly.

The entrance to Pauley-Rorem Hall is being replaced as part of the renovation.

New paint and carpet went in throughout the building, from the lounge to the hallways.
