Cheap disposable/reuseable camera, from Goodwill ($2) loaded with the unkown film it came with. I re-spooled the film a few times during use to give some multiple exposures. Many of the exposures on this camera my toddler took.

What an excellent day! Besides a so-boring-it's-not-even-right class, the day was fantastic! 1) We got our recycle bin delivered and 2) I got to see Beth Moore!
I guess you'd describe Beth Moore in this context as a motivational Christian speaker, but moreso with a Scripture message leading her talk. Our Wednesday night B-stud has done her Daniel study, and she's great!! I loved it and I was so glad I got to go. And, I got to meet Heidi's Mom and have a sleepover with Emily's Mom and her friend Ally and her mom. Really happy fun night :)
Going back to when it all started, was sorting out my Nan's button tin! Many makers are inspired by memories of sorting out their Grandma's button tin, with that generations attitude of make do and mend, rather than the throw away culture of our parents, inspiring the recycle, reuse, and revamp culture of our generation. With this in mind, I aim to launch an online project called "Thread of Society". I want to see your Gran's button tin/boxes/tubs and what you can create with the contents; this could be jewellery, sculpture, what ever the contents inspire you to do!
This is Alice Corbett's button tin, which I spent hours playing with the contents of. The contents are very precious to me, as they create a memory of great times with my beloved Grandparents, who were makers of the make do and mend generation. As they installed the making bug within me, I hope to pass it on to others. So, enjoy and remember, and see what inspires you to create your precious jewellery or sculpture from your Grandma's button tin!

(not the original colors)Something I made to enter in a notebook cover contest.
Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to submit it.
Originally, the colors were never like this. They weren't as bright. But because I had to change the format, the colors changed.

This little tool is a lifesaver. It truly takes up everything from dirt, dust, dog hair, fingerprints. It is very easy to pen and close that you just have to roll the white opener. The inner black stick roller is also helpful for cleaning the screen especially the finger print. You can use a microfiber cloth that folds up into the size of a penny, this you can also fit right into your pocket and after a few rolls, the job’s done!

Give your empty water bottles to children. They reuse them. They take their drinks to school or do what these have done. Scrape out the inside of the Boa fruit, mix with water and sugar shake and drink. Tastes good.
See the fruit, see the drink. They came to share their drink and thank me for the bottle. Took a gulp and am still alive. Photo taken at Bird Safari Camp. Find on www.hiddengambia.com
From Orla Kiely's Target line. These are the envelope style of reusable bags, but have some extra details that the Target branded ones don't have, like cool brown piping and a loop on the inside that could be handy for keys or a bottle with a hook thing.
The floor of the ovens appears to have been raised incorporating a reused moulded stone that might have been a plinth, or possibly a capital on a column.
Reusing this cause its so good. Originally I didn't even notice the tree all that much. I was focused on the house when I took the shot. The tree adds a bit of a foreboding feeling to this already dilapidated house.
It's pretty simple really, The ReUse Project is about finding multiple uses for things and throwing nothing away that doesn't have to be. ReUsing is kind of like Recycling, only we arent geting rid of things, we are finding new uses for them.
Here are a few examples of how you might ReUse...
Example 1:
I was walking down the street the other day when i found ________ in the trash. I decided to take ________ home and turned it into _________.
Example 2:
I had _______ sitting in my closet for the last million years and I finally did something with it.
Example 3:
I got _________ for my birthday this year, and i really didnt like it, so i cut it up and turned it into _______.
There are many ways to ReUse.

I got one of those in a swap lately, and seen them here too, and when I looked more closely I thought: I can make that too! so here is my first try on a foldable totebag :)
A reusable Tote Bag for my daughter's teacher. She was in Australia once and loved it. Her class is the Wallaby's. This fabric has Kangaroos, but they are the Wallaby's cousins so I thought it was acceptable.

I found a bin big enough for Yewlee to store the wood that the ToyVoaygers collected from the eco center. I hope the bin men don't take it away before she has chance to reuse it.
Now she can use this room to store toys instead of junk.

I have a talented friend who makes wedding dresses and just occasionaly she gives me a bag of small offcuts of the most wonderful material, usually silk.
In this photograph I have shown how every inch of this material is used. I have machine embroidered ( without a hoop) several different sized flower shapes with are destined for cards and present decorations.

Bringing my own reusable grocery bags to the store is a simple change, but one that will save me from using approximately 500 plastic bags each year. Every week when I went to the grocery store, I would come home with an average of 10 plastic bags full of groceries. Sometimes it was even more, because the young clerks at checkout don't care if they only put a few items in just one bag and those bags are so flimsy they easily break if they are overloaded. Every week I would think, "I need to remember to bring/buy those reusable bags and stop using plastic!". Well, after my time with Polar Bears International the thought of using so many plastic bags made me cringe. I went out and bought those reusable bags and I use them for all my shopping now. I even bring them to Walmart, where people look at me like I am crazy for using them, but I don't care! I hope that maybe a few people are actually proud of me for doing my part to help the environment. Just maybe some of those people will follow in my footsteps next time they go to the grocery store or Walmart, too. I also am happy that I am setting a good example for my children when I come home with the groceries. No more plastic bags!
When I take my lunch to work with me (or in the car, or wherever), I use my reusable lunch sack! This baby has gotten me through nearly 10 years of work lunches. That's a lot of brown bags.

A few years ago a client wanted me to take her entertainment center cabinet to the dump. Rather than make that trip I stored the boards in my workshop. I was thinking of making my mother shelves for her storage shed. Then this client asked for shelves in her closet and as it turned out the boards from the entertainment center were an exact fit. I didn't even have to cut the wood. The client admired the finish.
