Reused billing envelope, magazine and postcard and book cut outs, stickers and labels, rubber stamps, map bits.

We love to recycle old items. Chicken feeders and old coal buckets make grea planters and message boards.

I got carried away and started looking round for other things to spin, plastic bag yarn seems only good as pan scrubbers

Reusing a picture from 2007 and added the quote. I first got interested in reading accounts of near death experiences as a teenager. I read all of Dr. Raymond Moodys books and then started looking for other authors covering this material. Dr. Raymond Moody coined the term: near-death experience (NDE), in 1975.

It's pretty simple really, The ReUse Project is about finding multiple uses for things and throwing nothing away that doesn't have to be. ReUsing is kind of like Recycling, only we arent geting rid of things, we are finding new uses for them.

Here are a few examples of how you might ReUse...

Example 1:

I was walking down the street the other day when i found ________ in the trash. I decided to take ________ home and turned it into _________.

Example 2:

I had _______ sitting in my closet for the last million years and I finally did something with it.

Example 3:

I got _________ for my birthday this year, and i really didnt like it, so i cut it up and turned it into _______.

There are many ways to ReUse.

I do love clips! The pattern called for a key clip. Honestly, I am not one to clip my keys. So I decided to add a clip to keep reminders handy. This card is for a dentist appointment I'd like to forget.

A nice variety of sizes! I made these for my daughter's lunch box. Good bye, disposable baggies!

It happens quite often: I wake up and I find my feet but misplace the floor. I don't remember where I came from or where I am. I recognize the night desk but not the lamp. I recognize the bed but not the sheets. I recognize his face but nothing in his appearance is mine. I can't claim people or places, I cannot call anything as my own as it changes through time. So go on, darling, keep changing your address. Change your name, change your looks. Let me wake up everyday and look for you again.

Jenny Wren has been making jewelry and accessories for 20 years. She made a conscious decision to use more found objects and recycled materials in her jewelry. This was a result of her deep concern for the environment and the challenge of repurposing found objects that are often discarded.

In celebration of Earth Day on April 22, 2012, Benevolent Media and SCRAP DC presented an afternoon of eco-conscious art and design, featuring a pop-up marketplace of local vendors and interactive workshops led by teaching artists dedicated to inspiring “creative reuse” and environmentally sustainable behavior.

This event was scheduled as part of The Water Street Project, a multidisciplinary “flash” exhibition housed in a temporary art gallery/creative space in Georgetown, along the newly renovated waterfront.

Built from reclaimed marble, recovered by reuse action (reuseaction.com) from a lavatory renovation in one of the Buffalo Public Schools. It was a stall partition, so a close inspection shows who loved who, and all sorts of school age nonsense scratched into the marble. We cut it down to size for the customer and left the markings in the marble as part of its charm. The legs, undercarriage and mounting brackets are all made of reclaimed house trim. The marble installed originally in the 1920s, most likely by Italian immigrant craftsmen. In this city the old wood work was done by Poles and Germans, while the stone work was done by the Italians. crafts they brought from their home countries. Without rescuing this material it (and its heritage) would be in the landfill.

Each piece we build is unique and imbued with history...and keeping materials out of landfills.
