Coyote and Luna Color Version - Most of the time I would go with the B&W version but this happens to be one of those times where the color and B&W versions seem equally cool to me so I'll post them both.

Backstory - Coyote, proprietor of Coyote's Flying Saucer Retrievals and Repairs Service located in scenic Jacumba, California a small desert town along I-8. He and Luna were very kind and allowed me to get a few pics of the yard. If you happen to see the Desert View Tower (it's on In-Ko-Pah Road off I-8) that's where you'll find Coyote, stop in and say hi. He might also give you a souvenir and maybe some stickers if he has any left!

I am not normally one to re-post old images, however I have upgraded to the new version of DxO Optics Pro that now supports my Pentax K-1. I first posted this image back in May, using LR as the RAW developer. I was able to push this image much further using DxO and, thanks to DxO’s excellent PRIME noise reduction, the result is clean without loss of detail.

Something to see while waiting to get ones flying saucer repaired by Coyote at Coyote's Flying Saucer Retrievals and Repairs Service located in the desert along I-8 in scenic Jacumba, California.

If you make a wish and give a donation, the wish will come true. I wished for some good pics despite the high angle of the sun. Coyote was right and I think I got my wish!

WRT the Love Rocket, being mounted on a golf cart I think Coyote kind of rides on it during parades to impress the ladies...

It’s GroyneDog Day revisited…..again…..only the dogs are out of shot today, so maybe its just Groyne Day?

I hate being late. For anything.

I wanted to catch the pool around the groynes as the tide came to greet it. It moves very swiftly on this section of the beach and it will advance a hundred yards or so in the space of a few minutes. So, we arrived in time, plenty of time, like 90 minutes ahead of time. Em, Bertie and Martha were very patient whilst we waited, lots of balls were thrown for retrieval, the dogs also joined in.

Here’s a bit of Groyne Day

So I've learned the hard way that you should always back up your photos. I knew this but didn't do it and lived to regret it. My hard drive crashed which had all our family and travel photos. After several attempts to retrieve the data locally, I read a review that said to only use a hard drive manufacturer data retrieval company. Fortunately, they came through for me. Unfortunately, it was a $600 USD lesson. This photo comes to you courtesy of Seagate. 😊

Another of the 124 lost photos after retrieval. This one was to mark a change in my Second Life when an important friend left suddenly, but I resolved I had to carry on.

View across the River Lagan from the SSE Arena to the Belfast Harbour Commissioners’ building and, behind it, Sinclair Seaman’s Church.

The first section of the Harbour Commissioners’ building, designed by the Commissioners' engineer George Smith, was opened in 1854 and erected at a cost of £8,000. A subsequent extension, by the celebrated Belfast architect William Henry Lynn, was completed in 1895 at a cost of £14,349. The style of architecture reflects that of an Italian palazzo.

Sinclair Seaman’s Church is a Presbyterian foundation built in 1857-8 by Sir Charles Lanyon, the key architect of High Victorian Belfast, for visiting seafarers.

Yet another piece of Excel sheet anti-architecture is being built next to it, but I trust from how it is shaping up that the view across the river is being preserved. There are no guarantees with that given Northern Ireland’s planning system is as dysfunctional as the rest of its public administration and even parts of the riverfront that were beautifully reimagined as part of the late 1990s retrieval of the waterfront have already been lost.

The story here opens at a place and time that may evoke the crucial color. A morning scene like this would be a ticket to a variety of eye pleasing elements when we are meant to focus on the sensory wonderment or even for the perfect shape of heart on a romantic connection.

As a beautiful, yet with some enigmatic metaphor this is the image of a blue hour – a time before sunrise when the whole world has this blueish color to it. At the dawn of a new day when everyone is embracing the possibilities it may bring.

The scene becomes something of a tranquil state not just retrieval of childhood memories that fuses an air of melancholy at the same time, but also for the kind of optimism towards the future it represents.

That’s why It is said that Images are beautifully muted cinematography and in various ways they are striking and memorable.

it's been some time since I've taken Biscuit to this beach for sunrise, he probably could care less what time we go, but I so love it!

the calm (even if the waves are heavy), and the light, just what the doctor ordered!

Finally the stars aligned where I had the day off work, not a weekend and 2 hot days in a row, meaning the weather was perfect early morning to be wading in thigh deep ocean :-)

Wow, just checked: Biscuit actually hasn't been to this beach for ever, 4 years ago!

He stuck to me like glue except to go out and get his ball, I honestly wasn't expecting that, but I guess for him it makes sense having not been here in so long, and not having Saxon as "back up" ... he does get a little nervous of wide open spaces with nothing to focus on (unlike bush walks where there are loads of smells to explore), and other dogs running noisily about ... I'm glad he did stick by my side really :-)

Despite the clingy behaviour, he's a good and enthusiastic swimmer, and I kept him in retrieval mode most of the time. He was so exhausted, a calm and satisfied puppy for the rest of the day :-)

The aftermath of the posts of the past two days was a valiant struggle on the part of the striped mullet, possibly assisted by a submerged cormorant that surfaced as the Osprey gained control, and finally a successful retrieval of the fish from Horsepen Bayou.

“Memory, then, is not only a backward retrieval of a vanished event, but also a posting forward, at the remembered instant, to all other future moments of corresponding circumstance.”

- Richard Powers, Three Farmers on Their Way to a Dance.

A while ago, I posted a portrait of Finn, a prehensile-tailed porcupine. During my morning visit to the zoo, I was fortunate to find my nocturnal friend awake and moving around. Here, for my future retrieval, and our mutual photo sharing, are six of my favorite shots from that day.

Trakai Island Castle (Lithuanian: Trakų salos pilis) is an island castle located in Trakai, Lithuania on an island in Lake Galvė. The castle is sometimes referred to as "Little Marienburg". The construction of the stone castle was begun in the 14th century by Kęstutis, and around 1409 major works were completed by his son Vytautas the Great, who died in this castle in 1430. Trakai was one of the main centres of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the castle held great strategic importance.Trakai Island Castle was built in several phases. During the first phase, in the second half of the 14th century, the castle was constructed on the largest of three lake islands by the order of Grand Duke Kęstutis. The construction of Trakai Island Castle was related to the expansion and strengthening of the Trakai Peninsula Castle. Kęstutis moved his main residence and his treasury to the Island Castle.

The castle suffered major devastation during an attack by the Teutonic Knights in 1377. After the assassination of Kęstutis, a power struggle between Jogaila and Vytautas the Great for the title of Grand Duke of Lithuania began. The castle was besieged by both sides. Soon after the reconciliation between Jogaila and Vytautas, the second phase of construction started and continued until 1409. This phase is regarded as the major development in the history of the castle. Apparently, during the truce with the Teutonic Order, the construction works were supervised by the Order's stonemason Radike, four years before the Battle of Grunwald.
