I came home to find Clementine barely responsive. It scared the living daylights out of me.
She's mostly seeming better now, I spent a few hours warming her up with heating pads and my own body heat. I think this damned house is too cold for her. She was freezing her little desert-loving buns off.
She will be okay. I hope.
We all just need a little warmth sometimes.

Responsive parallax scrolling one page portfolio for designer Youssef Habchi. Like the monotone color scheme and subtle parallax, also like the fixed nav and how the logo minimizes as you scroll down the page.
Within a week or two, depending on work loads and seasonal events that jump ahead of potholes in the queue, most holes seem to get filled. People who favor an app to carry around on cellphone or other portable device can select a topic (some shown here, others not visible in the screenshot) and report to the relevant city department directly. In villages and small towns there is enough face to face accountability that many problems can be solved with a phone call, email, or personal communication with the appropriate person. In big cities, though, software like this encourages civic participation: people who take the time to fix a problem and then see their efforts are rewarded by action in response to the report being recorded. Political, civic, and public discourse tends to involve relatively few people in all communities, large or small. Some assume that "officials in charge" know everything (or should do) and need no input from local residents. Others do not trust the authorities and play the strategy of keeping one's head down. For some it is, perhaps, a bad experience that soured them from giving feedback, suggestions, or other interchange with the local workers and officials, elected or civil servant. And in a society with a premium on convenience, when faced with forms, rules, and other administrative hurdles, the prospect of overcoming hassle puts them off any timely communication to the city offices. Thanks to apps and web forms like this one, though, at least a few people are reporting potholes (and the other topics). The map shows reports submitted (red pin) and cases closed (green pin).
