The United States Army Garrison Italy conducted a routine annual full-scale exercise Lion Response 2017 on Caserma Ederle May 10.
This year’s exercise tested the cooperation of Italian and American security forces and emergency Italian and U.S. personnel to react to an emergency situation, which included a terrorist attack and a mass casualty situation on Caserma Ederle and a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device at Camp Darby in Livorno.

In response to the Waheen Market fire, the United Nations deployed an inter-agency team of technical experts earlier this week to work with the government and the response committee to assess the damage and support the rebuilding of the marketplace.

"First Class Response" - last week we had extraordinary snowfall in Scotland, especially in the lower half of the country. Our transport networks ground to a halt. What was commonly believed to be the unbreakable network of roads and rail up here (we usually mock England for their transport systems falling over with the lightest dusting of snow) just stopped.
The result: Scotland's Transport Minister Stewart Stevenson has resigned.
I snapped this as I made my way to a train station near where I live. Every train after the one I was one was cancelled. Strangely, it turned out that the electronic signs were actually saying that the train I was on was cancelled too.

Weird Sensation Feels Good: The World of ASMR
(May – April 2023)
Millions around the world are part of an online community who experience ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response): a physical sensation of euphoria or deep calm, sometimes a tingling in the body, triggered through sound, touch, and movement.
This is the first exhibition of its kind to lift the world of ASMR out from your screen and into physical space. Step into an acoustically tuned environment and understand how people are using new and existing tools and materials to navigate our complex world.
Explore the emerging field of creativity that has grown up around this feeling and the work of designers and content creators who try to trigger it in their viewers.
The exhibition is curated in collaboration with ArkDes, the Swedish Centre for Architecture and Design.

In response to prevailing drought situation in the region, ActionAid Somaliland has started distributing food for 1,000 drought affected families in 3 regions in Somaliland. The first operation was carried out in late December 2015 and Early 2016.
December 2018. The Oregon Department of Agriculture led a team of 22 Oregon volunteers to Butte County, California to take over the operations of the Small Animal Full Care Shelter. ODA organized 5 veterinarians, 6 veterinary technicians and 11 shelter management experts from all over the state to serve in a clinical and management role caring for more than 500 animals.
The City of Irvine's Emergency Operations Center was fully activated in response to the Silverado Fire, which burned nearly 12,500 acres. The Irvine Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority successfully evacuated more than 90,000 residents after the ignition of the Silverado Fire.
15 November 2016. Aweil: Achan Akot (2), a child with severe malnutrition, is weighted at the feeding centre (outpatient therapeutic programming) run by Medair in Aweil, South Sudan.
Alarming levels of malnutrition and a severe malaria outbreak are putting thousands of lives at risks in Northern Bahr el Ghazal, South Sudan. A full-scale emergency response has been launched by the humanitarian community. Medair, an international emergency relief and recovery organisation, is part of this response and is providing emergency nutrition and health services, safe water, and sanitation and hygiene support.
The emergency levels of malnutrition are compounded by a malaria upsurge in the past weeks and the limited access to water and sanitation facilities. The prevalence of malaria cases in the area has increased by 400 percent in nine weeks’ time. The limited availability of essential drugs and the small number of staff in health facilities have made it very difficult for people to receive adequate treatment in time unless they have enough money to pay.
Medair’s emergency response team is providing critical services to the most vulnerable in the area. In the past weeks, the team has set up three emergency nutrition clinics to treat children under five with acute malnutrition and is aiming to establish four additional sites. The team is also providing emergency water, sanitation, and hygiene services and has opened a malaria treatment centre in Aweil town.

After shutting down the district's internet and network services in response to a cyber security incident, Interim Superintendent Matt Smith spoke to local media about the event outside the district's transportation and technology building on Tuesday, January 10th. Shortly after the media meeting, DMPS staff continue to work diligently at restoring and repairing data and the network inside.

The Vicenza Military Community conducted its full-scale exercise Lion Response 2016 on Caserma Ederle May 10.
The annual exercise was a tool to verify the cooperation of Italian and American security forces in response to an emergency situation.
This year’s scenario included two simultaneous simulated terrorist attacks near controlled access areas on Caserma Ederle.
