Experimentations with Sean Wood and Louis Commère of the Neurocomputational and Intelligent Signal Processing (NECOTIS) research group during an interdiciplinairy art, science and technologies research residency in 2015. The residency program is a collaboration between the Sporobole art center and Université de Sherbrooke.

The granular sampling system analyses and maps audio features such as the amplitude, balance, pitch, spectrum, frequencies, harmonics and percussiveness of sounds. Using a random walker algorithm, it generates endless compositions based on the relationships between the sound samples transposed in reconfigurable point clouds.

Earlier this week, I picked a dear friend up at the airport on her way home from an artist in residency program in Germany. We caught up on the drive to the train station and had just enough time for a beer before her train took her on her way home. Damn fine IPA, and even better company. CTYW folks! Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

How many 7 year olds get to have their art prominently displayed at an art gallery? Mobius in Cambridge is showing works from the Zeleny Les Artist Residency initiative (www.mobius.org/events/zeleny-les-green-woods-residency-ex...). Zeleny Les is the name of our Catskills shared family summer home, and for Christmas my 7 year old daughter gave me a drwawing of her interpretation of Zeleny Les (www.flickr.com/photos/7516215@N03/11668830524/), which took her many days to complete. She was invited by the show curator (my sister, who directs the residency program) to display her piece in the window of the gallery! More info on the residency program: zelenyles.org

The guest artist of the CHB Residency artist residency program in 2018 is Ádám Albert. The Budapest-based artist was invited to Collegium Hungaricum Berlin in April-May 2018 to create a site-specific installation. The artwork, located on three different floors of the building, is a total installation titled ’The Gardener’s Truth’. The topic was inspired by 19th-Century physician Ignác Semmelweis, ’the saviour of mothers’.

Ádám Albert’s Berlin residency was supported by the Semmelweis Memorial Year Committee.
