When word reached Gabriel in the mountains, that the Jarl was requesting assistance and declaring war upon Galainir, he was ready. After having had suffered the humiliation of losing his home to the usurper, he had been getting ready and building his forces for months, all in secret of course. Now, the time he had been hoping for was finally here. After having gathered his troops and begun the march to the capital, Gabriel and the Darkstar Warriors encountered battalions of Lenfels and Loreesi looking for the same opportunity. After squashing some ridiculous clan machismo and rivalries, Gabriel and the leaders of the other battalions knew that joining forces was the best way to mount this attack.
As they approached the castle and formulated the plans, Gabriel shocked the others with what he termed his ‘secret weapon’.
“The dwarves of Garheim are tinkers….they will be able to breach the castle walls better and quicker than a sapper.”
“I don’t believe it, they’re dwarves. All they know is stone and mining.” Jerik, the Lenfel captain said.
Ahmed, the Loreesi captain snorted, but otherwise said nothing.
“Just wait, they have created something they call flash powder. It’s dangerous, but in these circumstances I think it’s warranted.”
As the siege began, the dwarves loaded a barrel into the catapult and lit the end. As the troops charged the gates, there was a moment of pause as the flaming barrel flew overhead. Then, chaos erupted. At once there was a blast of heat as that of a furnace that permeated the entire battlefield, and the sound of the explosion seemed to felt as strongly as it was heard. The walls erupted in a shower of stone and fire. Gabriel took a brief moment to turn and give just a hint of a smile to Ahmed and Jerik.
Then, the fighting erupted. As Gabriel charged the usurpers, it seemed that bodies fell left and right. It was hard to tell what colors they were wearing with the mass of blood and gore. As he looked up his eyes connected with that of the ugliest man Gabriel had ever seen. Clad in black, he whirled chains that ended in blades from each hand. In a blur, the chains whipped through the air and tore apart the soldier just in front of Gabriel. As their eyes met, Gabriel knew he had but moments to react…..

September 1983 and Talsarnau station has no passengers and therefore the Swindon Crosscountry 3-car DMU has not stopped to pick up or set down.
At the time I was disappointed that the train hadn't stopped as this meant that my going away shot had the unit fairly distant however with the passage of time I really rather like this.
As you can imagine the station has changed a little, the small signal cabin has gone but the rest of the buildings survive and a waiting shelter has been added to the left.
All trains call only on request. The station building is now a private residence.
Harlech Castle is visible in the distance though with the increase in vegetation it no longer stands out so prominently.
In early 2015, Talsarnau was one of several stations on the Cambrian Coast Line to get a Harrington Hump (rather than raising the whole platform, a raised area is built where the middle doors of the train are when it stops at Talsarnau) made of paving slabs, cement and tarmac. This means that for those getting off or on the train through the middle doors of the train, the vertical step is very much reduced.

A request was made in 1941 for further, new C17 class locomotives and the specifications were forwarded to the United States where the United States Army Transportation Corps (USATC) drew up plans for a 2-8-2 with specifications similar to a C17 class. The locomotives are also known is United States of America as USATC S118 Class steam locomotives. These locomotives were intended as a standard design for use on narrow gauge railways in other parts of the world as a wartime measure. Thus twenty engines obtained from the United States under Lend-Lease arrangements and later purchased. They were the only ones of their type to come to Australia out of a total of 741 similar engines built for USATC. They were unloaded in Sydney in 1943 and railed to Brisbane for assembly.[1][2][3][4]
Per Queensland Railway's classification system they were designated the AC16 class, C representing they had four driving axles, and the 16 the cylinder diameter in inches. Because the classification was already being used by an existing class they were designated American C16, i.e. AC16. The American steam locomotive earned it the nickname of Yank. The engines entered traffic with their US Army road numbers but had "A" appended to differentiate them from existing engines with the same numbers.[1][2]
The engines were supplied with conical profile tyres. These were altered to QR standard cylindrical profile and pressed one-sixteenth of an inch inwards on the wheels to reduce wear. In 1943 the decision was taken to alter the second and third coupled wheels to thin flanges. A number of other modifications were carried out over the years.
The engines were fitted with Walschaerts valve gear. The original tenders rode poorly and resulted in a speed limit of 30 mph being imposed with a prohibition on passenger train working. The axle load of these tenders also restricted the engines to main line usage. The floor level shovelling plate made the fireman’s work more difficult. One feature that did proved popular was the use of louvre coal boards and these subsequently became standard on all QR steam engines. The headlight mounted on the smokebox door proved to have advantages and was later adopted for some other classes.[2]
In 1958, No. 217A was fitted with a tender taken from a withdrawn C16 class locomotive. The previous restrictions were then lifted. All 19 members of the class then remaining in service had been similarly treated by 1963.[1][2]
After being fitted with these tenders, seven of the class was attached to Alpha where they had a brief period of glory in the early 1960s when they replaced the C17 Class hauling the air-conditioned Midlander between Alpha and Longreach. The American engines with a larger boiler capacity were able to reduce running times in the sections that contained many long banks. Diesel locomotive took over the working in 1963.

The selection of model is very important in the glamour shot so Apparel & Undies project.
In this case the model is perfectly great for the assignment.
However, the chair & the backdrop need to be improved. Curtain behind is somewhat distracting.
The top right & top left lighting need to me improve not to be over burn.
I am not sure what is the adjustment for the white balance in the original shot. I like to recommend that the red tone should be reduced further. Perhaps the room wall directly opposite the model is a little on the pink tone. Thus giving the texture more red cast.
Bottom right should have a reflector to bring more balance of light.
A flash behind the low center of the image would gives the light profile of the model & make the subject stand-out!!
The skin texture have been smoothed by the noise reduction feature of the Corel Paintshop Pro Xi.

As requested in DPReview, a black and white version of this path. Started off in Silver Efex along with some cropping in Elements, then tone and border in BWEffects with some Topaz Clarity to finish it off.
On request of a good friend, a little photoshoot with this DAF XF.
As it is 17 years of age, and has done a modest 2 Million kilometers, it's due to go on export, as both this company and the Netherlands deem it too old for duty... Still, sentimental value... as this was her first personal company car, and thus naturally, a proper memory of it had to be captured =)

A few years ago, someone emailed me and requested that I build more Canadian Pacific equipment. At the time, these GP20ECO units were new and they seemed a good fit for me. Now that I've finally gotten around to building one, it's hard to find a shiny red one in the wild anymore. Anyway, here it is, a Canadian Pacific GP20ECO in red, red red. Sadly, my red stickers have not improved.
As requested, here's some Alice ^^ I was supposed to take her out Saturday on a little road trip with my family, but on the way to our first stop her neck decided to snap, and by the time I got home and fixed her, it was dark out :/ But I had some time tonight so here she is~! :D
nrhp # 90000130- The city of Albany had a subscription library which operated from 1885 to about 1890. Because of renewed interested in having a public library, a grant was requested from Andrew Carnegie. A pledge of $10,000 was made on June 2, 1903, and a lot was purchased in July 1904. The building was designed by Edmond J. Eckel. After requesting bids in November 1905, Louis Walin was selected. The final bid was $9,071, which required further grant money from Carnegie, bringing the total donation to $12,500. The library opened to the public on March 1, 1906.
The library basement housed city hall from 1939 until the mid-1960s, and then the University of Missouri Extension Office. The building continues to serve as a library in Albany.
The library was nominated for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places under Criterion A for its significance in social history as a Carnegie Library and Criterion C for its architecture. The library was listed on the National Register on February 23, 1990, as the "Albany Carnegie Public Library".

So totally randomly, one day we asked him if he could show us the condition of his vehicle engine. We should have expected that: absolutely spotless! Well done dear man!

Awesome "magic hour" light and feel in the January AM due to the strange cloudy/sunny weather! That's the glorious fun of shooting at the Malibu beach! Forecasts mean nothing (they predicted sun, sun, sun), and you have to have fun adpating to the world's greatest studio with the world's greatest lights (the sun in all its manifestations), props, and backdrops!
Combine the 50mm lens's optical steady shot (OSS) and the shallow-depth-of-field of the F/1.8 with Sony NEX-6 latest face-tracking auto focus, and you can see how the moving video keeps the model's pretty blue eyes in focus, while blurring the background!
She was tall, thin, fit, toned, defined, and beautiful!

Following requests for me to show an example of the new
company East Coast Buses here is former Lothian's Volvo B7RLE / Wright Urban Eclipse number 198 (now numbered 10198), barely identifiable with these new tiny fleet numbers .
The new company has emerged as a result of the termination of services by a n other company and closure of depots in Musselburgh, North Berwick and Dunbar. The new ECB has taken charge in Musselburgh and North Berwick where vehicles will now be operating from.
The new style fleet numbers, now prefixed with 10 for single deckers, are in tiny and almost invisible letters, but meanwhile revised electronic destination screens with the biggest looking figures imaginable are being rolled out on vehicles for these services.

Photo request shots! Chalyss asked for some more photos of my 70cm Mirodoll Lightning, my fierce warrior elf lady. So, I took my girl in the back yard yesterday and tried to photograph her from all angles.
Lightning's face-up and outfit by me. Sword is from Angell-Studio, wig is from Dollzone, shoes and gloves from Pink Fantasy store on ebay.
