Had a request for number one cookies for a first birthday party. They wanted pink and green and I played around with ideas. I had already done pink and green number two's for the other daughter, so I asked if I could use a little yellow to change things up a bit.

These are the jasper rocks in my back yard birdbath I've been playing with... posted by request.... :-)

I believe this is the sexiest article of clothing i own....yup...a lil awk tho...

Looking at these beautiful masking tapes, can you believe they originated from fly catching paper from 1923? Any company survives over 80 years deserves certain admiration. Kamoi is a Japanese company started to produce fly catching paper in the 20's and gradually changed its business nature to paper adhesive tapes, recently supplying masking tapes for the auto industry.

A few years ago, a Japanese school teacher sent a mail to Kamoi requesting them to make more colors available from their adhesive tapes because she used to do school projects with a lot of their tapes and felt the demand strong for the craft projects in education sector. Kamoi responded by trial running and eventually the MT masking tape brand was born. Imagine that, one customer comment transforms your entire business. You just have to listen carefully and appreciate your customer's creativity. Today MT became wildly popular in Japan for all the possibilities this simple tool can bring to lifestyle.

I saw these tapes in Japan early 2008 when they hit the market. I immediately got a few and pondered whether this will be good for our market in Hong Kong. Some say Hong Kong is a cultural desert but I always challenge them "did you do something about it?" Lifestyle is learned, so these tapes won't get hit unless somebody is willing to show the possibilities. You just have to inspire by examples, and listen to your customers. OK, they are arriving in a week's time to city'super/LOG-ON and I'm gonna feature them in our Travel Photo Cafe 2009! I beg you to go to MT masking tape's web site, check out how people are using them in most creative ways and you'll be amazed, guaranteed!

I have been absolutely overwhelmed by requests to sign up for July! I was going to wait until the April round was finished, but I think accepting sign-ups now might be the only way to stop the IMs! XD

It's that time again! POSE FAIR!

This year we bring some major changes, so please read carefully.

We have decided to change Pose Fair from an annual event to a quarterly event. This means that we will have FOUR Pose Fairs each year, with fewer participants for each round.

Pose Fair now has a limit of 40 stores plus 6 sponsor stores. The goal is to give more people an opportunity to shine and succeed at the event over the year.

Participation will be *FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE*. This may mean that some stores end up participating in every round and, unfortunately, some stores may miss their chance to participate if they don't sign up quickly enough. So it's very important that you don't procrastinate in signing up if you want to be in Pose Fair for any given round.

We do have some guidelines set in place for participation.

◉ You must be a pose store first and foremost. Poses must be the primary content at your store.

◉ Animations are no longer considered "poses". Our main demographic are photographers and bloggers so static poses (and props that go with them) must be our focus.

◉ You must have a store free of copyright and trademark infringement. This means that NONE of your items that you currently sell can be in violation of any intellectual property rights. NO refunds will be offered to those who pay and are found to have violations in their stores.

◉ You must create two new items for this event. One item consists of a pack of single poses (minimum of 5), a prop with poses, or a couples/friends/family pose set. Gachas are permitted, one gacha will count as both of your items.

◉ You MAY create more than 2 items, but they must fit within your booth.

◉ Pose Fair Dates ◉

April 1st, 2018 - April 30th, 2018

July 1st, 2018 - July 31st, 2018

October 1st, 2018 - October 31st, 2018

January 1st, 2019 - January 31st, 2019

April Timeline:

Set Up Opens - March 26th, 2018

Set Up Ends - March 30th, 2018

Blogger Day - March 31st, 2018

Event Opens - April 1st, 2018 - Midnight

◉ Price ◉

Standard Booth - 5m x 5m - L$3000

Sponsor Booth - 10m x 10m - L$10,000

◉ Sponsor Guidelines ◉

1. If you want to be considered as a sponsor, please sign up for standard participation and on the participation form mark that you are interested in sponsorship. If you are selected, you will be contacted and asked to pay the difference in price to secure your spot.

2. Sponsors must have stores that have been active for at least one year.

3. Sponsors must have participated in Pose Fair 2017 or Pose Fair 2016.

◉ To Participate ◉

1. Make your payment at the payment center here:

maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Rosser/25/211/3267

2. Fill out the participation form. This is not an application, only a form to collect your info so we know who is participating. As long as you meet the requirements, you are accepted. If you are unsure if you meet the requirements, please contact RubyStarlight Writer before making payment. The form URL will be provided in your receipt once you make payment.

3. Join the group! There is a group joiner at the payment center.

Another fun MOC build &shot to put together.

I tried a few variations on this shot before settling in on this one. The starfield is a piece of sparkly paper with two flashlights shining on it.

To get the blue color, I covered the lens with a blue gel for a few seconds of the exposure, then removed it while the shutter was still open to burn in the rest of the image.

What do you think?

We tend to celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied ad multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.

We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.

“A concise poem about our work as stated elow

A place without being

a thought without thinking

creatively, two dimensions

suspended animation

possibly a perfect imitation

of what was then to see.

A frozen memory in synthetic colour

or black and white instead,

fantasy dreams in magazines

become imbedded inside my head.

Artistic views

surrealistic hues,

a photographer’s instinctive eye:

for he does as he pleases

up to that point he releases,

then develops a visual high.

This is his request.....Mom, I love quail egg chick and smiley mark. Please make smiley bento box tomorrow, my younger boy said last night. Okey, okey I'll make it. ..and I made this:D

A young girl asks for money from passing cars on the streets of Mumbai. People seemed to be fairly generally generous towards her so she was faring quite well in this spot. She couldn't have been more than 10 or 11 years old but curiously was carrying a small baby - which was generating a lot of attention from the passers by. After this shot, I indicated to her to come across as I had a few rupees. She looked up, started to cross the road but, then suddenly turned and ran at full speed. The police had spotted her and had moved towards her but, even with the weight of the baby, she was far too aware and quick for them.

i have been asked elsewhere for a tighter portrait crop version of this and after a bit of playing around with various crops i think this works best

Having seen her Uncle Rupert's cupcake tower, Sophie requested "blue cakes" for her third birthday !

Unfortunately her party was on Sunday and there was no way I could do her cupcakes with all that I had to do for our own party on the Saturday.

So today I made her some blue cakes for her to take to nursery to share with her friends. I made the blue more of a turquoise shade though this time rather than a "blue" blue as I thought it looked a bit more girly !!! :o))
