Wereldwijd zijn er 36 miljoen mensen op de vlucht. Oorlog, honger, onderdrukking en natuurrampen zijn de oorzaken, maar wat kunnen wij eraan doen? Een vluchteling is nergens zonder jouw hulp! Giel Beelen, Paul Rabbering en Coen Swijnenberg laten zich opsluiten in het Glazen Huis op de Grote Markt in Breda voor 3FM Serious Request 2008.
Deejays van de lokale omroep Sternet houden op dit moment een actie met een eigen glazen huis in Haaksbergen. Net als met het glazen huis van de actie Serious Request van 3FM dat dit jaar op de Oude Markt in Enschede staat, zamelen de radiomakers in Haaksbergen geld in met een marathonuitzending.

The Chairman read the proposed amended rules seriatim & they were unanimously adopted on the proposition of Mr. Wray (Fulham), sec. by Mr. Croeford (Paddington). The of the annual subs. from 5/ to 10/ was opposed by the delegates from Hampstead Garden Suburb, but was carried with a large majority. In Rule 8 it was agreed without division to strike out the words after VP. The term of office of the latter to be 3 years. In rule 10, the words "if possible" were struck out & 7 substituted for 14.
Election of Officers: In vacating the Chair, Mr. Turner took the opportunity of thanking the delegates & officers for their support & cooperation during his term of office & explained his reason for retiring from the office of President. He introduced as his successor, Councillor H Foreman JP, the Mayor of Hammersmith, & claimed the loyal support of the association for the incoming President. The nomination was sec. by Mr. Braithwaite in an able speech enumerating the Mayor's qualification. In support Messrs. Woodroffe, Thompson, Sinclair, Renwick, Williams, Brown & Wray extended on behalf of their respective clubs, a welcome to the Mayor of Hammersmith in his new capacity.
The motion was then carried with acclimation & the Mayor, in taking the chair was greeted with enthusiastic applause. In returning thanks, Mr. Foreman promised to help the association in every possible way, & expressed his intention to present a trophy to the association as a permanent memorial of his mayoralty of Hammersmith, to be allocated as the committee might determine, & whoever might be the winner or winners, he would be pleased to give a small gold medal or medals in addition. This generous offer was accepted with musical honours.

I borrowed an idea from a friend and had my Live Journal friends make requests on what they wanted to see a photograph of. It could be an actual object or a concept.
This was my friend, Nicola's idea. She wanted to see fur. So here's a shot of my siamese, Sebastian, washing himself. I shot this on a Nikon D70 then brought it into Photoshop. After running some actions and curves on it to mimmic the effect of cross processed film, I created the borders using custom brushes.
