We celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied and multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.

This photo meets requirement 1. To take this photo, I changed the shutter speed to 1/1600, with f/4.0 and ISO 200. Since the time taking this photo is the afternoon when sun shines brightly, I have to reduce the sunlight camera received so that it would not over exposured.
This photo is taken in the Pike Place, when I saw this man riding horse with customers. I waited patiently for the horse starting to move. Unexpectedly, it didn't walk toward my direction but turned around, then I took this photo which freezes the horse's movement. It shows clearly the action of horse legs, as long as the riders' movement.

At the request of the government of Papua New Guinea, Task Force Koa Moana returns to PNG again. Task Force Koa Moana 23, comprised of U.S. Marines and Sailors from I Marine Expeditionary Force, have deployed to Papua New Guinea to support PNG’s stability, security, and prosperity. Their goal is to strengthen relationships with Papua New Guinea through a bilateral and multilateral security cooperation exercise that runs from June until September. The exercise includes capacity training and infrastructure improvement projects. Koa Moana is an ongoing partnership that began in 2016.
Task Force Koa Moana 23 is comprised of approximately 200 U.S. Marines and Sailors from 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Logistics Group and I MEF Information Group who will organize into multiple detachments. These detachments will conduct subject matter expert exchanges throughout Papua New Guinea at the request of the government of Papua New Guinea. The task force established a mutual agreement with Papua New Guinea to provide expertise in engineering, medical care, infrastructure development and community engagements.
Named “Koa Moana,” a Hawai’ian phrase meaning “ocean warrior,” the task force is designed to strengthen relationships between the U.S. and Papua New Guinea, enhance cooperation with PNG security establishments, and support national sovereignty of across the Oceania region.
The Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau also requested to participate in Task Force Koa Moana as well.

I've had a very special Christmas assignment last Holiday Season. A young couple wanted me to take a few shots of them and their young baby. They craved for something Christmas-themed, so the young girl was dressed up in red, Santa apparel :)
A few days ago I got an email from a woman wanting to purchase one of my top hats.... for her stuffed squirrel.... to wear at her wedding......

Unfortunately, after sending her the measurements of my hats she decided it would be too small and asked if I'd make a larger one. The chance to make a top hat for a squirrel?!?!?? Heck yeah I'll make one!
I'm almost done. Her wedding is in 10 days so this is taking priority for now. :)
