DESCRIPTION OF THE BARBARY LION
The Barbary lion was a Panthera leo leo population in North Africa that is regionally extinct today. This population occurred in Barbary Coastal regions of Maghreb from the Atlas Mountains to Egypt and was eradicated following the spreading of firearms and bounties for shooting lions. A comprehensive review of hunting and sighting records revealed that small groups of lions may have survived in Algeria until the early 1960s, and in Morocco until the mid-1960s.
Until 2017, the Barbary lion was considered a distinct lion subspecies. Results of morphological and genetic analyses of lion samples from North Africa published in 2008 showed that the Barbary lion does not differ significantly from lion samples collected in West and northern parts of Central Africa. It falls into the same phylogeographic group as the Asiatic lion. and is also closely related to lion populations in West Africa.
The Barbary lion was also called "North African lion", "Berber lion", "Atlas lion", and "Egyptian lion".[

La presidenta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre, acompañada por la consejera de Presidencia y Justicia, Regina Plañiol, se sumó hoy a los actos del Bicentenario del Tribunal Supremo con una recepción, en la Real Casa de Correos, a los presidentes de doce Cortes Supremas Iberoamericanas y Filipinas y a once embajadores. Aguirre incidió en que esta conmemoración significa que “llevamos 200 años perfeccionando nuestro sistema de convivencia de acuerdo a los principios de un Estado de Derecho que nació en la Constitución de Cádiz”. El Tribunal Supremo es, desde entonces, afirmó Aguirre, “la cabeza de uno de los tres poderes del Estado, una institución fundamental de nuestra convivencia porque es el garante último de las libertades de los españoles”.
Todas y todos los Representantes de la FAO en América Latina y el Caribe se reunen en Chile para trabajar juntos en los grandes desafíos de la region: Hambre y malnutrición cero, fin a la obesidad, impulso a la biodiversidad, adaptación al cambio climatico y migraciones.

The Lord Mayor's Coach was built in 1757 by Joseph Berry (of Berry and Barker of Holborn) and cost £1,065, 3s (estimated to be about £120,000) funded by the City's Aldermen. The coach has been used in every year of the Lord Mayor's procession from 1757 onwards, and still continues each year (the only exceptions being 1939-45).

The new centre represents further investment by Pas Reform into the future of the hatchery sector. As a company committed to the training and support of its customers around the globe, Pas Reform Academy has become a leading knowledge provider for the hatchery sector - and the new center also includes a brand new training facility, to accommodate the increasing number of poultry specialists visiting The Netherlands to further consolidate and develop their skills.
The building of Slovenian Parliament was designed by the architect Vinko Glanz in 1954 and completed in 1959. The main accent of the building is its portal, supported by five pillars tiled with granite from Pohorje. Sculptural compositions by academy sculptors Karel Putrih and Zdenko Kalin adorn the entire terminal part of the portal, depicting family happiness, education, mining, electrification, justice, the textile industry, mechanical engineering, fruit growing, agriculture, fishing, forestry and shipbuilding. Far to the right and left there are male and female figures with their arms aloft. Pillars by Zdenko Kalin represent safe path into the future, happiness, prosperity and peace.
The two cherubs with a wreath symbolically bestow glory and honour upon everyone who strives to create more beautiful and fulfilling life. Two of the pillars are devoted to arts, there are children playing, and sculptures of men and women armed for resistance.

I believe I had represented Pattern through the use of texture in my image. The spikes on the cactus repeat throughout the image, along with the white dots on the cacti. From my understanding there is a lot of texture in this image.
I sat the Cacti on a table with the gray wall on the back so the background wouldn’t be distracting. Following that, I used the flash from my camera, my flash on my phone and my room light as well. I had turned down the brightness and boosted the clarity a bit.
One thing I believe I did well was edit the image because before it was very bright and the colors were not presented well. One thing I wish I did better was take the photo from a different angle creating a more interesting image.

The Campania in the Roman era exhibition recently opened on the ground floor opposite the impressive Farnese collection. The 20 rooms are filled with sculptures and paintings from the 2nd century BC to the 3rd century that decorated public buildings in Naples and southern Italy (including some from Pompeii and Herculaneum).

Each State is represented by two statues inside the capitol building. California is represented by Junipero Serra. The second statue representing California is that of Thomas Starr King. If you want to see that statue in the capitol though you probably will be too late as Thomas is being replaced by a Statue of Ronald Reagan right about now.
