Not sure what it's really called. It's an assignment I had to do in my senior yr.of high school. The instructions were to cut half of a picture from a magazine and replicate the cut-out half. I need to edit/ darken it.

Intel Corporation’s employees work in the D1X fabrication facility in Hillsboro, Oregon. Among Intel’s most modern facilities, D1X is a multibillion-dollar microprocessor research factory. Workflows are perfected at the plant and can be then replicated at other Intel facilities. (Credit: Walden Kirsch/Intel Corporation)

This machine can apparently make itself (or at least all the component parts of itself). It takes a looooong time to do so, but still.

Full log replacement on a 1930's log home. We removed, replicated and replaced over 330 lineal feet of logs on this log cabin. Intensified Wood Restoration, LLC. only uses select cut logs that are harvested during the winter months.
This was my attempt to make a night vision-esque picture using the options only supplied by my 40d. I would say success. Even more success by the fact that Ben looked like something scared the hell out of him. It couldn't have been me.

for years i've been meaning to replicate Antonio 'Wandre' Pioli's construction methods.
here is my first prototype ... i have used solid 6061 T6 rod ( rather than the hollow extrusion of the originals ) milled down to the required cross section - this is 'wrapped' in padauk to form a hybrid neck with the typically asymmetric 'Fred Flintstone' headstock T.I.G. welded in place. the neck is bolted to a similar rod embedded in the mahogany body to form a continuous resonating beam from tuner to bridge.
I now wanted to replicate the texture and shape of the RCM, here I have made a latex mold of Amethyst. I first had to press the Amethyst into clay, once that mold had dried I then coloured some latex black and poured it in, and once the latex had dried pulled it out from the clay mold.
For this project I chose to replicate one of Avril Lavigne's album covers. This picture meets the project goals because I attempted to replicate the lighting and composition of a source image. To take this picture I had my sister stand in front of a black sheet in our basement. I put the camera on a tripod and then had someone else hold a bright lamp right above the camera so that there was no shadows on her face except for the one beneath her chin. I directed my sister on how to hold her head and where to look so that she looked to be in the same position as Avril. In Photoshop, I had to do a lot of editing to make this picture even resemble the real thing. I used layer masks to turn up the brightness and highlights on her face excluding the lips and eyes. After that I made the black background darker and darkened the black around her eyes. I also had to change her eyes to blue since they were originally green. From there I just did a bunch of little things to try and take away the yellowish tint that her skin still had because Avril's skin looked to be almost pure white on the album. I also darkened certain parts of the hair and used the smudge tool to make her ears look a little more balanced like the original. I also tried using the smudge tool to make her chin and jaw more like the picture, but it ended up looking too unnatural. Overall, I don't really think this picture replicated the original that well and its not what I was thinking it would look like.
