We wrapped up tonight over at First Avenue for their annual tribute to the Replacements. This year the evening was focused on the Tim album, and as usual the club was full of happy patrons singing along to all the songs. It's always a nice holiday moment.This photo is of the lead singer of The Goondas. I have heard about how great this band is live over and over and over and over again, but I've never been able to make it out to see them play. Until tonight. And I loved them! I can't wait to see them at their next show -- the lead singer reminds me of a younger Iggy Pop. Oh yeah, I took more photos of all the bands who played tonight... but I'll try to post them tomorrow. It's almost 3 a.m. right now, and this girl needs some beauty sleep.

The shack next door is 12" from our fenceline and my neighbour is taking advantage of the missing fence currently (a new one is being installed shortly) to remove all his rusty iron sheets from the wall and roof. He replaced the roof at the weekend and has put plastic on the wall to protect it from the weather until he returns next weekend to finish cladding the wall with new iron.
Well, it is really the engine hoist. A folding one I got from harbour freight for $89. It was not quite long enough so I had to use it without the safety bolts in place. My son commented that I am always telling him never do things like this (as I do something unsafe)

Just as the Antony Gormley Another Place sculptures are going to leave the UK shores a young lady and her uncle were working hard on the beach creating their own version as a replacement.
They were made with driftwood and flotsam and jetsam
A series of photos showing the replacement of escalators 1&2 at Kentish Town. Because of the configuration of the station and the escalators position within that it was decided the most efficient way to replace the machines was to close the station and remove both at the same time.
