FORT NORFOLK, Va. – For years, Mother Nature’s fury has steadily eroded the structural integrity of the Fort Norfolk pier and wharf area, seriously degrading its operational effectiveness and jeopardizing its safe operation. Broken, crumbling and missing pilings; underneath pier foundation completely deteriorated; wharf top cap rotten away; mooring fasteners and piling bolts – gone! That was then. Today, new state-of-the-art structural upgrades expand the facility’s operation and extend its useful life for up to 15 years. The Fort Norfolk Bulkhead and Pier Repair project, under the design and construction management of Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, began work in October 2011, and was completed ahead of schedule and more than $150,000 under budget. The Corps’ prime contractor, Team Henry Enterprises, LLC, based in Newport News, Va., is an 8A minority-owned small business. The project marked the first time Team Henry had performed work for Norfolk District, but their land work experience extended to other federal and state agencies. Completing the project ahead of schedule and below budget was no surprise to Steven Baum, Norfolk District’s project manager.

Rail replacement coaches at Manchester Piccadilly station on 18 February 2018 included Coastal Coaches of Warton PO17AUP “Lady Claire”, an UNVI Voyager GT bodied Mercedes-Benz Atego.
This is the replacement key surrounded by the removed screws, more or less in the placement they were removed from.
Stagecoach 27570 on rail replacement duties at Weybridge. This bus was up from Portsmouth for the day working the all stations from Woking to Wimbledon.
Another block was purchased from Trust Salvage that came out of a 1965 Buick Electra. The block was bored .040 and the crank was polished.

The new "bridge" will actually consist of two separate parallel structures, one for each direction, which will merge into the existing tunnel at Yerba Buena Island. The complete bridge will include pedestrian and bike lanes. Studies are under way for adding a pedestrian/bike capability to the western span, which is not being replaced; most likely those will be suspended from one side of the existing bridge. PLA parts on the left have begun to crack. New ABS parts printed on my MakerBot on the right.
Luckily I live in THE FUTURE and have multiple printers so I'm able to print my own replacement parts.
An urgent infrastructure movement seen passing through Nové Košariská station sees an intriguing machine delivering a section of rail for use slightly further down SK 131. My guess for the working's destination would be Kvetoslavov as the unusual combination was seen at Rovinka scuttling back empty towards Bratislava less than one hour later.
The old fender is rather rusty. Much worse than the rest of the car. Surprisingly I was able to get it off in one piece.
Construction has finished on a bridge replacement project over Saunders Creek on Highway 28, providing a wider, more dependable crossing with better access for drivers and cyclists for years to come.

The next job will be to add the next box sections , this will be done by the traveling lifters, The blue structures you see here, once lifted from the barge the box section will be slowly lifted in to place and secured , then the next box section will be lifted in the other side in the same procedure

本当は近所の店で24金メッキ加工をしてギラついた仕様への改造を考えていたのですが、
金メッキ加工店が無くなり、どうしたものか悩んでいたら、1年半以上も経過してしまったという。
我ながらお粗末。
Scania Irizar Century (23201) YN04YHY is seen here on rail replacement duties at Exeter St Davids Station on Christmas Eve 2012 when practically all the trains running to Exeter were cancelled due to flooding. This coach was formerly part of National Express' fleet.
This photo is being used for week 20 of the dogwood 2017 weekly photography challenge. This week's challenge was "Technical: Sky Overlay". I recently took a trip to Yellowstone and took some shots from this cool overlook. The sky could've been better, so I used this photo for the challenge.
