Finally after much hunting and searching I have got some replacements for my favourite trainers. The originals stared earlier in the 365 and not long after that got filled with petrol when the nozzle didn't click off in the petrol station. Ever since then I have been on the look out for a pair. Then finally Lisa found them... She is now kicking herself because instead of keeping it to herself and getting me them for Christmas, in her excitement in finding them she blurted it out and so ruined the surprise.

From left to right are JFZ 8619, TT17 GER and BLZ 1424. The Stagecoach one is 53033 and appears to have been brought out of (or used as part of) the training fleet with signs that L plates have been removed from the front.
Other vehicles including another coach and an MCW Metrobus have carried the BLZ 1424 plates.
This is one of those shots that I take but never upload... except on a day like today when i have nothing better to show.

I found a replacement for the sweater with the holey armpit. It’s not a sweater. In fact, it isn’t a top at all. I also didn’t thrift it, despite your encouragement, but it was on clearance on Target, so it was thrift-y. It’s not super practical, but I can think of lots of ways to remix it. Meet the replacement: a ruffled, leopard, miniskirt.
Sweater, Banana Republic (thrifted and gifted). Shirt, Jones New York (thrifted). Skirt, One Star. Tights, We Love Colors. Boots, Dan Post. Sunglasses, Girlprops. Necklace, Zad. Bag, Fossil (gift).
10 years went by, my older brother came back. But no longer a brother. A Warrior, he acted tough, he was tough, and didn't even flinch anymore. He came not just with strength and courage but with bad news saying that for 10 years dad was dead. He said before he left he knew, just didn't have the guts to say in front of his 8 year old younger brother. So instead he waits until I'm eighteen. As if that will solve anything anymore. But instead of raging on my older brother I acted tuff about it. Oh and by the way this tuff means cool. Back then me and my brother said it all the time. Anyways back to the story. He was surprised we still had a house but even more. I had gained a lot of wealth since he left. Wasn't a surprise for me since I graduated when I was fifteen. He again left two days later from a call that the covenant had stolen a new technological vehicle called a scorpion or something like that. Anyways, he said that I needed to get ready to go, because he said The UNSC needed me for there spartan program or something along those lines. I was always fond of the idea fighting with the UNSC. But never actually figure I would join it. But in that time I found something I never though would be here......
Sullivans Buses TAL123 on Northern Line replacement service E passing Metroline TE1076 on route 210 in North End Road, Golders Green on 6th September 2014.
TAL123 was an ex-Metroline bus (with the same fleetnumber) and had spent most (if not all) it's service with them at Cricklewood Garage, where TE1076 was based at the time of this picture.

It's been some time coming, but finally the replacements for the FJ08 batch of Volvo B9TL's with Yorkshire Coastliner are arriving, and on December 8 2016 the new buses were launched at an event outside York Minster. As a repeat of history back from 2003, the Coastliner order is a tag-on to an order made for Harrogate and District's route 36 - however an improvement from 2003-4 is that the Coastliner buses are specified to just as high a standard if not better.
The vehicles used for the launch event are BT66 MVO and BT66 MVP which are Volvo B5TL Wright Eclipse Gemini 3's - oddly these have been given 36xx fleetnumbers, the reason I've been given is simply because these 'follow on' from the Harrogate order, but for clarity I have included the *correct* fleetnumbers in brackets for the photo titles. As it stands, only these two vehicles have currently been delivered - though two more are due late next week whilst the rest are still either in Northern Ireland or at Heysham; the two buses seen here will see their first day of service on December 12 with a new timetable in effect at the same time (the timetable conveniently shows which journeys will be run by the new buses). This order of B5TL's consists of ten vehicles to fully replace 411-420, and the order is worth just over £2.3Million; the engines comply to Euro 6 standard which means these buses emit less pollution in terms of particulate matter than a small diesel hatchback car (and studies have proven this). Each bus has a gross vehicle weight of 18t and is 11.5m long and 4.4m heigh.
In famous Transdev style, the plan for 411-420 has changed at the 11th hour and 59th minute: rather than going to keighley the company has decided not to renew the lease and so those will leave the group as a whole.
Interior specification for these is amlost identical to those used for Harrogate and District's route 36, however the seats have the Creating Desire moquette trim instead of leather (probably better for long journeys to the coast anyway, less sweaty bums!). Upstairs has high-backed coach seating with individual USB charging sockets, the seats themselves are wider than normal bus seats for greater comfort. Upstairs has two seating groups arranged around a table, and an improvement over the H&D 36 buses is that each table has a wireless induction charger for mobile phones; each table is also finished with a unique vinyl which is patterned for something associated with the coastliner route (likewise the interior panel of the staircase). The upper deck has a double-glazed panoramic sunlight going the length of the bus to allow better views and more light into the bus, whilst the aisles upstairs and downstairs is finished in wood effect. The seats have blue LED lights underneath to better illuminate the aisle and provide delineation between aisle and seats. The glazing panel inside for the staircase has been finished with an etched new-style Coastliner logo which is then edge-lit by blue LED's. At the rear of the lower deck the usual group of 5 forward-facing seats have been replaced by 4 wider seats to allow passengers more room, and the seats are also provided with a table complete with USB sockets, a footrest underneath and a space for bags (and in one photo is demonstrated by fellow enthusiast Frank). The bus has full CCTV coverage in addition to audio 'next stop' announcements controlled by GPS and the Mobitech destination equipment. The destinations also follow a new innovation being rolled out with new Transdev buses in that it can count down time until the bus departs its first stop.
Externally the buses have been given an entirely new livery in the current Transdev style as also seen in York on the Cityzap and Little Explorers buses, along with a new logo and the motto "Yorkshire's Amazing Day Out", as everything is amazing apparently. Each bus is given a unique rear advertisement to promote somewhere along the route, taking up the space previously used for the route map which has now been shifted to the side panels above the lower deck windows (seen in one photo where I seem to have caught Scott Poole by surprise). And the buses have crystal white LED destinations.
.... As you can probably expect, I decided to figure out how the new Mobitech destination system works in order to display various routes and destinations including some rare workings such as the X44 and 197 Racecourse shuttle as well as ones almost never likely to happen such as Rail Replacement.

Rail replacement buses were in operation between Reading and Reading West from Saturday 27th December to Saturday 3rd January, due to engineering work to the west of Reading Station.
Reading Buses Enviro400 no. 1208 stands in the layby on Oxford Road, just past the Reading West Station bus stop, awaiting its next load of passengers for Reading Station. This is one of nine vehicles that were originally purchased in 2011 when Weavaway of Newbury were subcontracted to operate Reading Buses route 1 (Reading-Newbury); six were in route 1 'jetblack' livery but three (1207-1209) were in Weavaway all-over black as spares. When Reading Buses took route 1 back in-house it purchased the nine Weavaway Enviro40s, and whilst 1207 joined its fellows in 'jetblack' colours but 1208/1209 were painted into Reading Buses generic livery.

The junctions west of Reading Station were remodelled between 24th December 2014 and 3rd January 2015, ahead of the commssioning of the new flyover which will take fast trains to and from the West over slow-moving freight trains.
To facilitate this the lines were closed between Reading and Reading West, with rail replacement buses operating a shuttle between the two stations. Services to Basingstoke and Bedwyn started/terminated at reading West while Cross-Country trains between Manchester and Bournemouth omitted the reversing move at Reading and called at Reading West instead.

Dating back to 1870, the New Presque Isle Lighthouse was built when it was decided to put up an entirely new structure rather then update the original light from 1840. The lantern room was equipped with a third order Fresnel Lens which was pulled in 2003, refurbished and placed in the museum in 2012.
On Monday 28th December First Solent Trdent 33141, on loan to First Berkshire, departs from Slough with a non-stop rail replacement journey to Hillingdon Underground, where it will connect with Metropolitan Line services to Central London.

On Sunday 27th and Monday 28th December 2015 the railway was completely closed between Slough and London Paddington to allow various Crossrail-related works to take place.
Long-distance services were curtailed at Reading or diverted into London Paddington and London Marylebone, whilst a limited half-hourly shuttle train service was operated between Reading and Slough. A half-hourly rail replacement bus service operated between Slough and Ealing Broadway, using RATP London United Darts, Enviro200s and Optare Versas supplemented by coaches from a number of local operators - the route was single-decked because of the low bridge at Langley Station (this was supplemented by additional 'shorts' between Hayes & Harlington and Ealing Broadway, some of which were double-decked). A half-hourly service was also operated between Slough and Maidenhead to serve Burnham and Taplow, which could not be served by trains. This was nominally a separate service but was worked in practice as an extension of the Slough-Ealing Broadway service with buses pausing at Slough for several minutes.
An alternative service was provided between Slough and Hillingdon Underground non-stop for Metropolitan Line connections to Baker Street; this also ran half-hourly this was operated by First Berkshire using Tridents and a Green Line Volvo.
As well as the dedicated rail replacement buses rail tickets were widely accepted on alternative rail, Underground and bus routes in Slough and West London, and the 81 in particular was carrying good loads between Slough and Hounslow West.
For completeness, on both days Reading Buses and Horseman Coaches also operated rail replacement buses between Maidenhead and Marlow, extended to High Wycombe to connect with Chiltern Railways services to and from London Marylebone.
I don't usually show pictures of house plants, but I am so pleased with this Peace Lily that replaces one that died when I forgot to tell anyone to water my plants when I was having my hip replacement.
You know how it is with these plants after bringing them home after purchase - they'll have a number of white spathes that last a while. They die down and no others grow for months.
This one had 3 spathes (flowers) which still look good when I got it and 4 others (still small) have shown up. Gotta take care of this baby!
