A real big boys toy - and I got a go.

Normally the crane is controlled by an operator in the cabin above - eventually this crane will be remotely controlled by an operator in a building about 1/2 kilometer away.

Testing my new lens once again.

I spent ALL day today packing up and readying for the move. by about 4pm I was so exhausted I collapsed onto a small patch of space on the couch and dozed off.

I'll have to clean off the couch more, because I'm sleeping there tonight. This morning, I took my bed apart so that I could use the bedroom to stack all the boxes as I pack them. The bookcase is pretty much all done; next up is the kitchen. Then it's clothing and piffle--which will surely take up a ton of boxes, though.

Yarn is going in each box as packing padding. Someone remind me of this when I go to cut the boxes open!!

I was flying the remote control plane while a friend shot this picture. I like how it looks with the mountain as a backdrop. It could be a scene from the 1940's. The plane is a "Waco" and it flies well.

something that controls remotely

Just a small selection of the many remote controls we use at home let alone all the redundant ones gathering dust in various drawers.

I just do not want to think about ancient mobile phones!!!

CD's even hundreds of 45 rpm discs, LP's by the score.

...but whatever it does, it doesn't look right.

Automatic control technology is an everyday necessity.

I couldn't believe it when the editor in chief told me that my hat had been picked for the cover. It was even in contention?! www.pepperknit.com/2014/07/cover-girl/

We were given a toning exercise 'White on White' in our Masters Apprentice classes for photographers. This is just one of the many photos taken by yours truly.

Different lighting, angles, you name it. I tried the lot last night.

What do you do when you cannot locate white eggs anymore?...... you paint them....eggs & crate with undercoat paint!

Of course I could have chosen any white object for this exercise, but I had a hankering to do this.

Now I just hope this is right. If I rightly recollect from the lecture there was not to be any pure black nor pure white.

If you'd like to take a break it's always a good opportunity to browse rebrickable.com and learn from the great designs available there. I'm building now one of my favourites, it has many excellent solutions. Unfortunately that cool rear axle on the picture won't be used, I felt the urge to replace the L motor with something... faster :)

Can you name this MOC and the designer?

It's kind of hard to believe that just two days ago Maggie, Lindsay, Julie, and I were all wearing long underwear, knee-high socks, legwarmers, multiple shirts, sweaters, coats, scarves, hats, and gloves inside mittens to keep warm on the Brooklyn Bridge.
