Guess I'm into mono nowadays ;-) I took this picture during a photo walk through the city centre of Rotterdam last Saturday. Exceptionally hot for this time of year, so being near water is very welcome! I was showing the participants the joys of a wide angle lens and I think a few of them are now planning on getting themselves one of those babies :-)

About the image: a single exposure converted to mono using Nik SilverEfex.

Today I had the pleasure to shoot this wedding for the wonderful couple of Mr. and Mrs. Vermillion. Lori, is the sister of a good friend of mine(Mark) and her Husband Kevin have been together for I think 12 years. It was a small ceremony, but went smoothly and was very emotional. I had a blast shooting and these are just the first few I have edited.

A Refreshing Swim

30 November 2013 -- 334/365

Jamestown, Rhode Island

The photography gods have a very warped sense of humor. I decided to visit Fort Wetherill State Park this morning for my daily photo. The Spanish-American War era Fort is in ruins, and there's hardly an inch of the concrete structure that is not covered in graffiti. I spent about 90 minutes wandering through the ruins and taking countless photos. I had several that would work well for this project, and satisfied with the morning's results, I returned to my car and headed to lunch. Driving down the access road to the park, I spotted these three divers coming out of the water. A quick slam on the brakes followed by a reverse-race back to a parking area and a sprint from my car to the waterline got me there just in time to take this photo. Fort Wetherill will have to go into a separate collection since this clearly trumps any graffiti strewn ruins that will still be there tomorrow!

The trio had been diving off the coast of Jamestown for the better part of the morning. When I asked how the conditions were, they replied, "Cloudy." The last week has been extremely windy and the silt in the water is still unsettled. Not that Narragansett Bay is ever truly clear, mind you, but after the wind we've had it would be a thick underwater fog. The water temperature today was 46 F (8 C) so it was definitely a brisk swim.

Post processing started with a brilliant warm filter in Topaz Adjust. I then adjusted adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Old Coke and other soda bottles. I love the colors of the glass.

The reason we can't get her out of the bath without a fight.

I wanted San Pelligrino but they didn't have it so I ordered the only one they had which is Perrier, taste good too :) I think the LX3 dynamic color mode is also very nice.
