By the look of it, Malapascua Island in this picture , a low lying small island off the

northern tip of Cebu will be on the path in collision with the disastrous super

typhoon Haiyan or known as Yolanda by Philippine typhoon name.

I pray for those people even those I don't know, who are living on the path of disaster

of the typhoon land fall , may God will give them a divine escape route and hedge

of protection for those who call upon Him with true repentance at

heart - leave their idols !

Truth can truly hurt. I do apologize if this sound offensive to some, I do wish

never to hurt or offend , but I am speaking based on Biblical truth .

The Bible said if we don't speak what we knew or be able to warn

the people ( I believe this includes online ), when God take

their lives away left not warned , and it caused them to

to be eternally damned, God will claim their blood from

our hands --- woooooo are you prepared for that ? That's scary to

fall in front of God empty handed and accountable of the great loose of

many to eternity of damnation . God will judge !

As I follow Biblical truth I have no choice but to speak . It's truly a hard

bargain , but I have no other way but to be obedient by the word of God.

This is not to criticize in a negative way, but as a positive rebuke

and encouragement to discover and know God , have personal

relationship with Him through His son Jesus Christ , knowing God

for who He is and for His glory , not through traditions of men.

All of us will face God one day and answer our deeds whether

you like it or not.

In my understanding, this is the main spiritual issue of the Filipinos ,

although majority classify themselves as christians

being born in a Christian family, baptized as a baby

in a Christian church , attend Sunday service -but how many do

really worship God in the spirit in truth and

are born-again by the Spirit God ?

I said this because I once was .

I know many wouldn't like me saying this, I probably be hated by a number

from this time on but I'm speaking by conviction of the Lord

through this tiny window of flickr .

Many Filipinos do worship idols and are hard core and follow unbiblical

rituals which God hates. Though many may have known the truth

but they insist into their allegiance to religious traditions they

were accustomed to , which mostly are long man-made traditions.

Many do take pride and follow them mainly because of ignorance

of the true word of God.

Hosea 4:6

"My people perished because of lack of knowledge "

It's not about worldly knowledge from your college, but mainly of the

commandments of God.

This is the time of gradual purging from God !

This is the time of true repentance and acknowledging the one and

only God and His sanctity should never be mocked and mixed up

by false religious practices which are true abominations against God !

God's should never be represented by graven images and pictures to

be worshiped /hanged on walls , or on a grotto kissed and adored !

Where majority mixed up paganism practices and the occult

together merged into Christianity. We can't mixed them up .

We can't serve two masters ! Either you are of God or just very deceived

by darkness. There's no middle ground .

Thank you for dropping by.

This is post and run, kind of . I just felt to upload this photo as

I felt heavy knowing I still have many pictures to post of Malapascua Island

and have had great memories when I was there. Knowing the island

is under the path of this mega disastrous typhoon seemed a shock to me.

I do pray sincerely for the people especially

the real poor ones who have less means to keep themselves to safety.

Professor X (Charles Francis Xavier) is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist/co-writer Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in The X-Men #1 (September 1963). The character is depicted as the founder and occasional leader of the X-Men.

Xavier is a member of a subspecies of humans known as mutants, who are born with superhuman abilities. He is an exceptionally powerful telepath, who can read and control the minds of others. To both shelter and train mutants from around the world, he runs a private school in the X-Mansion in Salem Center, located in Westchester County, New York.Xavier also strives to serve a greater good by promoting peaceful coexistence and equality between humans and mutants in a world where zealous anti-mutant sentiment is widespread.

Throughout much of the character's history in comics, Xavier is a paraplegic using a standard or modified wheelchair. One of the world's most powerful mutant telepaths, Xavier is a scientific genius and a leading authority in genetics. He has devised Cerebro and other equipment to enhance psionic powers and detect and track people with the mutant gene.

Xavier's pacifist and assimilationist ideology and actions have often been contrasted with that of Magneto, a mutant villain with whom Xavier has a complicated relationship.

He also appears in almost all of the X-Men animated series and in many video games, although usually as a non-playable character. Patrick Stewart plays him in the 2000s X-Men film series, as well as providing his voice in some of the X-Men video games (including some not connected to the film series).

According to BusinessWeek, Charles Xavier is listed as one of the top ten most intelligent fictional characters in American comics.

Publication History

Creation and influences

Stan Lee has stated that the physical inspiration of Professor Xavier was from Academy Award-winning actor Yul Brynner.

Writer Scott Lobdell established Xavier's middle name to be "Francis" in Uncanny X-Men #328 (January 1996).

Character

Xavier's goals are to promote the peaceful affirmation of mutant rights, to mediate the co-existence of mutants and humans, to protect mutants from violent humans, and to protect society from antagonistic mutants, including his old friend, Magneto.

To achieve these aims, he founded Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters (later named the Xavier Institute) to teach mutants to explore and control their powers. Its first group of students was the original X-Men (Cyclops, Iceman, Marvel Girl, Angel, and Beast).

Xavier's students consider him a visionary and often refer to their mission as "Xavier's dream". He is highly regarded by others in the Marvel Universe, respected by various governments, and trusted by several other superhero teams, including the Avengers and the Fantastic Four.

However, he also has a manipulative streak which has resulted in several significant fallings-out with allies and students.

He often acts as a public advocate for mutant rights and is the authority most of the Marvel superhero community turns to for advice on mutants. Despite this, his status as a mutant himself and originator of the X-Men only became public during the 2001 story "E Is for Extinction".

In a number of comics, Xavier is shown to have a dark side, a part of himself that he struggles to suppress. Perhaps the most notable appearance of this character element is in the Onslaught storyline, in which the crossover event's antagonist is a physical manifestation of that dark side.

Also, Onslaught is created in the most violent act Xavier claims to have done: erasing the mind of Magneto.

In X-Men #106 (August 1977), the new X-Men fight images of the original team, which have been created by what Xavier says is his "evil self ... who would use his powers for personal gain and conquest", which he says he is normally able to keep in check.

In the 1984 four-part series titled The X-Men and the Micronauts, Xavier's dark desires manifest themselves as the Entity and threaten to destroy the Micronauts' universe.

In other instances, Xavier is shown to be secretive and manipulative.

During the Onslaught storyline, the X-Men find Xavier's files, the "Xavier Protocols", which detail how to kill many of the characters, including Xavier himself, should the need ever arise, such as if they went rogue.

Astonishing X-Men vol. 3, #12 (August 2005) reveals that when Xavier realizes that the Danger Room has become sentient, he keeps it trapped and experiments on it for years, an act that Cyclops calls "the oppression of a new life" and equates to humanity's treatment of mutants (however, X-Men Legacy #220 - 224 reveals that Xavier did not intend for the Danger Room to become sentient: it was an accident, and Xavier sought a way to free Danger, but was unable to find a way to accomplish this without deleting her sentience as well).

Fictional character biography

Charles Francis Xavier was born in New York City to the wealthy Dr. Brian Xavier, a well-respected nuclear scientist, and Sharon Xavier.

The family lives in a very grand mansion estate in Westchester County because of the riches his father's nuclear research has brought them.

He later grows up to attend Pembroke College at the University of Oxford, where he earns a Professorship in Genetics and other science fields, and goes on to live first in Oxford and then London for a number of years.

Crucially, as he enters late adolescence, Xavier inherits the mansion-house he was raised in, enabling him not only to continue to live in it, but also to turn it in to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, which he begins together with the first of the X-Men.

Brian, his father, dies in an accident when Xavier is still very young, and Brian's science partner Kurt Marko comforts and then marries the grieving Sharon. When Xavier's telepathic mutant powers emerge, he discovers Marko cares only about his mother's money.

After the wedding, Kurt moves in with the Xaviers, bringing with him his son Cain. Kurt quickly grows neglectful of Sharon, driving her to alcoholism, and abuses both Charles and Cain.

Cain takes out his frustrations and insecurities on his stepbrother. Charles uses his telepathic powers to read Cain's mind and explore the extent of his psychological damage, which only leads to Cain becoming more aggressive toward him and the young Xavier feeling Cain's pain firsthand.

Sharon dies soon after, and a fight erupts between Cain and Charles that causes some of Kurt's lab equipment to explode. Mortally wounded, Kurt drags the two children out before dying, and admits he was partly responsible for Brian's death.

With help from his superhuman powers and natural genius, Xavier becomes an excellent student and athlete, though he gives up the latter, believing his powers give him an unfair advantage.

Due to his powers, by the time he graduates from high school, Charles loses all of his hair. He graduates with honors at the age of 16 from Bard College.

In graduate studies, he receives Ph.D.s in Genetics, Biophysics, Psychology, and Anthropology with a two-year residence at Pembroke College, University of Oxford.

He also receives an M.D. in Psychiatry while spending several years in London. He is later appointed adjunct professor at Columbia University.

At graduate school, he meets a Scottish girl named Moira Kinross, a fellow genetics student with whom he falls in love. The two agree to get married, but soon, Xavier is drafted into the Korean War.

He carves himself a niche as a soldier in search and rescue missions alongside Shadowcat's father, Carmen Pryde, and witnesses Cain's transformation into Juggernaut when he touches a ruby with an inscription on it in an underground temple.

During the war, he receives a letter from Moira telling him that she is breaking up with him. He later discovers that Moira married her old boyfriend Joseph MacTaggert, who abuses her.

Deeply depressed when Moira broke off their engagement without explanation, Xavier began traveling around the world as an adventurer after leaving the army.

In Cairo, he meets a young girl named Ororo Munroe (later known as Storm), who is a pickpocket, and the Shadow King, a powerful mutant who is posing as Egyptian crime lord Amahl Farouk.

Xavier defeats the Shadow King, barely escaping with his life. This encounter leads to Xavier's decision to devote his life to protecting humanity from evil mutants and safeguarding innocent mutants from human oppression.

Xavier visits his friend Daniel Shomron, who runs a clinic for traumatized Holocaust victims in Haifa, Israel. There, he meets a man going by the name of Magnus (who would later become Magneto), a Holocaust survivor who works as a volunteer in the clinic, and Gabrielle Haller, a woman driven into a catatonic coma by the trauma she experienced.

Xavier uses his mental powers to break her out of her catatonia and the two fall in love. Xavier and Magneto become good friends, although neither immediately reveals to the other that he is a mutant.

The two hold lengthy debates hypothesizing what will happen if humanity is faced with a new super-powered race of humans. While Xavier is optimistic, Magneto's experiences in the Holocaust lead him to believe that humanity will ultimately oppress the new race of humans.

The two friends reveal their powers to each other when they fight Nazi Baron Wolfgang von Strucker and his Hydra agents, who kidnap Gabrielle because she knows the location of their secret cache of gold. Magneto attempts to kill Strucker but Xavier stops him.

Realizing that his and Xavier's views on mutant-human relations are incompatible, Magneto leaves with the gold. Charles stays in Israel for some time, but he and Gabrielle separate on good terms, neither knowing that she is pregnant with his son, who grows up to become the mutant Legion.

In a strange town near the Himalayas, Xavier encounters an alien calling himself Lucifer, the advance scout for an invasion by his race, and foils his plans. In retaliation, Lucifer drops a huge stone block on Xavier, crippling his legs.

After Lucifer leaves, a young woman named Sage hears Xavier's telepathic cries for help and rescues him, bringing him to safety, beginning a long alliance between the two.

In a hospital in India, he is brought to an American nurse, Amelia Voght, who looks after him and, as she sees to his recovery, they fall in love. When he is released from the hospital, the two moved into an apartment in Bombay together.

Amelia is troubled to find Charles studying mutation, as she is a mutant and unsettled by it, though she calms when he reveals himself to be a mutant as well.

They eventually move to the United States, living on Xavier's family estate. But the night Scott Summers moves into Xavier's mansion, Amelia leaves him, believing Charles would have changed his view and that mutants should lie low. Yet he is recruiting them to what she believes is a lost cause. Charles tries to force her to stay with his mental powers, but immediately ashamed by this, lets her go. She later becomes a disciple of Magneto.

Over the years, Charles makes a name for himself as geneticist and psychologist, apparently renowned enough that the Greys were referred to him when no other expert could help their catatonic daughter, Jean.

Xavier trains her in the use of her telekinesis, while inhibiting her telepathic abilities until she matures. Around this time, he also starts working with fellow mutation expert, Karl Lykos, as well as Moira MacTaggert again, who built a mutant research station on Muir Island.

Apparently, Charles had gotten over Moira in his travels to the Greek island of Kirinos. Xavier discusses his candidates for recruitment to his personal strike force, the X-Men, with Moira, including those he passes over, which are Kurt Wagner, Piotr Rasputin, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff, and Ororo Munroe. Xavier also trains Tessa to spy on Sebastian Shaw.

Xavier founded Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, which provides a safe haven for mutants and teaches them to master their abilities. In addition, he seeks to foster mutant-human relations by providing his superhero team, the X-Men, as an example of mutants acting in good faith, as he told FBI agent Fred Duncan.

With his inherited fortune, he uses his ancestral mansion at 1407 Graymalkin Lane in Salem Center, Westchester County, New York as a base of operations with technologically advanced facilities, including the Danger Room - later, Fantomex mentions that Xavier is a billionaire with a net worth of $3.5 billion.

Presenting the image of a stern teacher, Xavier makes his students endure a rigorous training regime.

Xavier's first five students are Cyclops, Iceman, Angel, Beast, and Marvel Girl who become the original X-Men. After he completes recruiting the original team of X-Men, he sends them into battle with Magneto.

Throughout most of his time with the team, Xavier uses his telepathic powers to keep in constant contact with his students and provides instructions and advice when needed. In addition, he uses a special machine called Cerebro, which enhances his ability to detect mutants and to allow the team to find new students in need of the school.

Among the obstacles Xavier faces is his old friend, Magneto, who has grown into an advocate of mutant superiority since their last encounter and who believes the only solution to mutant persecution is domination over humanity.

When anthropologist Bolivar Trask resurfaces the "mutant problem", Xavier counters him in a televised debate, however, he appears arrogant and Trask sends his mutant-hunting robot Sentinels to terrorize mutants. The X-Men dispatch them, but Trask sees the error in his ways too late as he is killed by his creations.

At one point, Xavier seemingly dies during the X-Men's battle with the sub-human Grotesk, but it is later revealed that Xavier arranged for a reformed former villain named Changeling to impersonate him while he went into hiding to plan a defense against an invasion by the extraterrestrial Z'Nox, imparting a portion of his telepathic abilities to the Changeling to complete the disguise.

When the X-Men are captured by the sentient island Krakoa, Xavier assembles a new team to rescue them, including Cyclops' and Havok's long-lost brother, Vulcan, along with Darwin, Petra, and Sway.

This new team, composed of students of Dr. Moira MacTaggert, was sent to rescue the original X-Men from Krakoa. However, after rescuing Cyclops, McTaggert's former students were seemingly killed. Upon Cyclops' return, Xavier removed Cyclops' memories of the death of Vulcan and his teammates; and began assembling yet another team of X-Men.

Xavier's subsequent rescue team consists of Banshee, Colossus, Sunfire, Nightcrawler, Storm, Wolverine, and Thunderbird. After the mission, the older team of X-Men, except for Cyclops, leave the school, believing they no longer belong there, and Xavier mentors the new X-Men.

Xavier forms a psychic bond across galaxies with Princess Lilandra from the Shi'ar Empire. When they finally meet, it is love at first sight. She implores the professor to stop her mad brother, Shi'ar Emperor D'Ken, and he instantly aids her by deploying his X-Men.

When Jean Grey returns from the Savage Land to tell him that all the X-Men are dead, he shuts down the school and travels with Lilandra to her kingdom, where she is crowned Empress and he is treated like a child or a trophy husband.

Xavier senses the changes taking place in Jean Grey, and returns to Earth to help and resume leadership of the X-Men.

Shortly thereafter he battles his pupil after she becomes Dark Phoenix and destroys a populated planet in the Shi'ar Empire. It hurts Xavier to be on the opposite side of Lilandra, but he has no other choice but to challenge the Shi'ar Imperial Guard to a duel over the fate of the Phoenix.

Xavier would have lost against the greater power of the Dark Phoenix, but thanks to the help Jean Grey gives him (fighting her Phoenix persona), Xavier emerges victorious; she later commits suicide to prevent herself from endangering more innocent lives.

When the X-Men fight members of the extraterrestrial race known as the Brood, Xavier is captured by them, and implanted with a Brood egg, which places Xavier under the Brood's control.

During this time, Xavier assembles a team of younger mutants called the New Mutants, secretly intended to be prime hosts for reproduction of the aliens. The X-Men discover this and return to free Xavier, but they are too late to prevent his body from being destroyed with a Brood Queen in its place; however, his soul remains intact.

The X-Men and Starjammers subdue this monstrous creature containing Xavier's essence, but the only way to restore him is to clone a new body using tissue samples he donated to the Starjammers and transfer his consciousness into the clone body.

This new body possesses functional legs, though the psychosomatic pain Xavier experienced after living so long as a paraplegic takes some time to subside. Subsequently, he even joins the X-Men in the field, but later decides not to continue this practice after realizing that his place is at the school, as the teacher of the New Mutants.

After taking a teaching position at Columbia University in Uncanny X-Men #192, Xavier is severely injured and left for dead as the victim of an attack.

Callisto and her Morlocks, a group of underground-dwelling mutants, get him to safety. One of the Morlocks partially restores Xavier's health, but Callisto warns Xavier that he is not fully healed and that he must spend more time recuperating and restrain himself from exerting his full strength or powers, or his health might fail again. Xavier hides his injuries from the others and resumes his life.

Charles meets with former lover Gabrielle Haller on Muir Isle and discovers that they had a child. The boy, David, has autism and dissociative identity disorder. Furthermore, he has vast psionic powers like his father. After helping him and his team to escape from David's mind, Xavier promises he will always be there for him.

A reformed Magneto is arrested and put on trial. Xavier attends the trial to defend his friend. Andrea and Andreas Strucker, the children of presumed dead Baron von Strucker, crash the courtroom to attack Magneto and Xavier. Xavier is seriously injured.

Dying, he asks a shocked Magneto to look after the X-Men for him. Lilandra, who has a psychic bond with Xavier, feels that he is in great danger and heads to Earth. There, she and Corsair take Xavier with them so Shi'ar advanced technology can heal him.

Xavier leaves Magneto in charge of the school, but some of the X-Men are unwilling to forgive their former enemy. Cyclops loses a duel for the leadership of the X-Men against Storm, then leaves them and joins the other four original X-Men to form a new team called X-Factor.

In the meantime, Charles becomes stranded in space with the Starjammers, but he is reunited with his lover Lilandra and relishes his carefree lifestyle.

He serves as a member of the Starjammers aboard the starship Starjammer, mobile in the Shi'ar Galaxy. He becomes consort to the Princess-Majestrix Lilandra while in exile, and when she later resumes her throne he takes up residence with her in the Imperial palace on the Shi'ar homeworld. Xavier joins Lilandra in her cause to overthrow her sister Deathbird, taking on the powers of Phoenix temporarily wherein he is named Bald Phoenix by Corsair, but sees that he must return to help the X-Men.

Xavier eventually becomes imprisoned by the Skrulls during their attempted invasion of the Shi'ar Empire. Xavier breaks free from imprisonment by Warskrull Prime, and is reunited with the X-Men.

A healthy Xavier returns from the Shi'ar Empire and is reunited with both the current and original X-Men teams, and resumes his leadership responsibilities of the united teams. In a battle with his old foe, the Shadow King, in the "Muir Island Saga", Xavier's spine is shattered, returning him to his former paraplegic state, while his son David is seemingly killed. In the following months, Xavier rebuilds the mansion, which previously was rebuilt with Shi'ar technology, and restructures the X-Men into two teams.

While holding a mutant rights speech, Xavier is nearly assassinated by Stryfe in the guise of Cable, being infected with a fatal techno-organic virus. For reasons of his own, the villain Apocalypse saves him. As a temporary side-effect, he gains full use of his legs and devotes his precious time to the youngest recruit on his team, Jubilee.

With all his students now highly trained adults, Professor Xavier renames his school the Xavier Institute For Higher Learning. Also, he assumes control of a private institution, the Massachusetts Academy, making it a new School for Gifted Youngsters. Another group of young mutants is trained here, Generation X, with Banshee and Emma Frost as headmaster and headmistress, respectively.

Professor X is for a time the unknowing host of the evil psionic entity Onslaught, the result of a previous battle with Magneto. In that battle, Magneto uses his powers to rip out the adamantium bonded to Wolverine's skeleton, and a furious Xavier wipes Magneto's mind, leaving him in a coma.

From the psychic trauma of Xavier using his powers so violently and the mixing of Magneto's and Xavier's repressed anger, Onslaught is born. Onslaught wreaks havoc, destroying much of Manhattan, until many of Marvel's superheroes—including the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and the Hulk—destroy him.

Xavier is left without his telepathy and, overcome with guilt, leaves the X-Men and is incarcerated for his actions.

He later returns to the X-Men after Operation: Zero Tolerance, in which he is shocked by the cruel act of being turned over to the mutant-hating Bastion, following a clash with the sentient Cerebro and a team of impostor X-Men.

Xavier questions his dream again and Magneto shortly thereafter is confronted by the X-Men. After the battle, the UN concedes Genosha to Magnus, and Wolverine is angered by Xavier stopping him from getting his revenge on Magneto. Charles and Logan are later trapped in a dimension with different laws of physics, wherein they have to coordinate their moves together and, in the process, gain a better understanding of the other's views.

Apocalypse kidnaps the fabled "Twelve" special mutants (Xavier included) whose combined energies would grant him omnipotence. After Apocalypse's defeat with the help of Skrull mutants, Xavier goes with the young Skrulls known as Cadre K to train them and free them from their oppressors, and eventually returns to aid in Legacy Virus research.

Mystique and her Brotherhood start a deadly assault on Muir Isle by releasing an altered form of the Legacy Virus, all in retaliation against the election campaign of Robert Kelly, a seeming mutant-hater. Mystique blows up Moira MacTaggert's laboratory complex, fatally wounding her. Charles goes to the astral plane to meet with her and retrieve information on the cure to the Legacy Virus, but after gathering the information does not want to leave her alone. If not for Jean and Cable talking him down and pulling him back, the professor would have died with his first love, who states she has no regrets.

As Beast cures the Legacy Virus, many infected Genoshan mutants recover overnight, providing Magneto, the current ruler of Genosha, with an army to start the third World War. He demands Earth's governments accept him as their leader, and abducts and crucifies Xavier in Magda Square for all to see. A loyal member of Magneto's Acolytes, Amelia Voght, cannot stand to see her former lover punished in such a manner and sets him free. Jean Grey and rather untrained newcomers, as most of the team are elsewhere, distract Magneto and Wolverine guts him. Xavier is too late to intervene.

Xavier's evil twin Cassandra Nova, whom Xavier attempted to kill while they were both in their mother's womb, orders a group of rogue Sentinels to destroy the independent mutant nation of Genosha.

Magneto, who is Genosha's leader, appears to die along with the vast majority of the nation's inhabitants. Nova then takes over Xavier's body. Posing as Xavier, she reveals his mutation to the world, something he needed to do but did not want to sully his reputation over, before going into space and crippling the Shi'ar Empire. The X-Men restore Xavier, but Lilandra, believing that too much disaster has come from the Shi'ar's involvement with the X-Men, annuls her marriage to Xavier.

Lilandra previously had gone insane and tried to assassinate Charles on a trip to Mumbai. During this period, a mutant named Xorn joins the X-Men. Xorn uses his healing power to restore Xavier's use of his legs.

When the X-Men receive a distress call from a Scottish island, they are surprised to find Juggernaut with nowhere to go, as the island was destroyed by his further-mutated partner in crime, Black Tom Cassidy, who died.

Xavier reaches out to his stepbrother and offers him a place in his mansion, with Cain reluctantly accepting. The Juggernaut redeems himself over the next few weeks and joins the X-Men. Xavier finds out that Cain's father preferred him to his own flesh and blood and that they both thought they deserved the abuse they incurred by Kurt; Cain believed this because his father loved someone else's child more than him, and Charles felt guilty about getting in the way. That it is why neither of them stopped Kurt Marko with their powers.

Now outed as a mutant, Xavier makes speeches to the public about mutant tolerance. He also founds the X-Corporation, or X-Corp (not to be confused with the X-Corps), with offices all over the world. The purpose of the X-Corp is to watch over mutant rights and help mutants in need.

As a result of being out, the school no longer hides the fact that it is a school for mutants and it opens its doors for more mutant (and even human) students to come in.

A student named Quentin Quire and members of his gang start a riot at the Xavier Institute during an open house at the school. As a result, Quire and two other students are killed. Uncertain about his dream's validity, Xavier announces that he will step down as headmaster and be succeeded by Jean Grey.

Afterwards, Xorn reveals himself to be Magneto, having apparently not died in the Sentinel raid on Genosha. Magneto undoes the restoration of Xavier's ability to walk, kidnaps him, and destroys the X-Mansion (killing several of the students). Then Xorn/Magneto assaults New York, where Cyclops, Fantomex and a few students confront him. After the rest of the X-Men arrive, Xorn/Magneto kills Jean Grey with an electromagnetically induced stroke, and Wolverine decapitates him.

With Jean dead, Xavier leaves the school to Cyclops and Emma Frost, to bury Xorn/Magneto in Genosha. In a retcon of Grant Morrison's storyline, there Xavier meets the "real" Magneto, who mysteriously survived Cassandra Nova's assault. The two resolve their differences and attempt to restore their friendship, leading a team of mutants, the Genoshan Excalibur, to rebuild and restore order to the destroyed island nation.

At the mansion, the Danger Room (the X-Men's simulated reality training chamber) gains sentience, christens itself "Danger", assumes a humanoid form, and attacks the X-Men before leaving to kill Xavier. With Magneto's help, Xavier holds off Danger until the X-Men arrive. Danger flees, but not before revealing to Colossus that Xavier has known it to be sentient ever since he upgraded it.

Colossus is especially offended by this because he had been held captive and experimented upon by Danger's ally, Ord of the Breakworld. Ashamed, Xavier tries to explain to them that by the time he realized what was happening, he could see no other course. The disgusted X-Men leave.

House of M

In a prelude to House of M, Magneto's daughter Scarlet Witch has a mental breakdown and causes the death of several Avengers. Magneto brings her to Xavier and asks him to use his mental powers to help her.

Although aided by Doctor Strange and the appearance of Cassandra Nova, Xavier is unsuccessful. Xavier orders a meeting of the X-Men and Avengers to decide Wanda's fate.

Her brother Quicksilver, believing the heroes plan to kill her, speeds off to Genosha and convinces Wanda that she could right the wrongs she inflicted by using her powers to alter reality.

Quicksilver somehow forces a tearful Wanda to reveal to him her heart's desires of Magneto, the assembled New Avengers, and the X-Men, and then uses her powers to make them all real.

Thanks to Magneto, though, this re-imagined world is a place where a much more numerous mutant-kind are the dominant species, humans a disenfranchised and oppressed 'silent majority', and Magneto himself rules supreme. In this reality, the only proof that Charles Xavier ever existed is a secret monument in Magneto's palace garden, with the engraved message "He died so Genosha could live".

After mutant Layla Miller restores the memories of some of the X-Men and Avengers, they head to Genosha where they discover that Magneto has erected a memorial garden for Xavier commemorating his death. Emma is horrified until Cloak fades into the grave and discovers there is no body inside.

After a battle, Scarlet Witch again uses her powers to restore reality and, as a slight against her father, causes a large majority mutants to lose their powers, leaving the mutant race on the brink of extinction and causing the lost powers to become an energy mass, the Collective. With reality restored, Xavier is still missing and the X-Men are unable to detect him with Cerebro.

Deadly Genesis

Xavier returns when Cyclops' and Havok's long-lost brother, Vulcan, is revived by the Collective energy released as a result of the "House of M" incident. Vulcan then attacks the X-Men.

Xavier, now depowered but able to walk in the wake of "House of M", reveals that he had gathered and trained another team of X-Men (this one composed of students of Dr. Moira MacTaggert) sometime between the original team and the new X-Men team introduced in Giant Size X-Men #1.

This team included Vulcan as a member. Like the "Giant Size" X-Men team, McTaggert's former students were sent to rescue the original X-Men from Krakoa, the living island. However, after rescuing Cyclops, McTaggert's former students were seemingly killed. Upon Cyclops' return, Xavier removed Cyclops' memories of the death of Vulcan and his teammates and began assembling the "Giant Size" X-Men. Vulcan skirmishes with the X-Men and eventually flees into space.

In spite of Cyclops' feelings, Xavier forms a new team including Havok and Darwin, the lone other survivors of Moira's students. Xavier seeks to confront Vulcan before he can enact his vengeance against the Shi'ar empire, which killed Vulcan's mother.

While en route to the Shi'ar homeworld, Xavier is abducted and is later thrown into the M'Kraan Crystal by Vulcan. Darwin follows Xavier into the crystal and pulls Xavier out. This somehow restores Xavier's lost telepathy. With help from his longtime lover, Lilandra, Xavier escapes back to Earth with several of his X-Men.

Upon Xavier's return to Earth, as seen in the World War Hulk storyline, he begins to search for lost mutants such as Magneto. Charles' search for more mutants is interrupted by the Hulk, who was sent into extraterrestrial exile by the Illuminati, a group of powerful superbeings to which Xavier belongs.

Xavier had no part in (and did not know of) the Hulk exile decision, but Xavier admits to Hulk that he would have concurred to a temporary exile so Bruce Banner could be cured of transforming into the Hulk.

However, he also tells the Hulk he would not have agreed to permanent exile. Xavier attempts to surrender to the Hulk, but after viewing the X-Mansion's large graveyard dedicated to post-M-Day mutant deaths, The Hulk concludes the mutants have suffered enough and leaves the Mansion grounds on his own accord. While the X-Men tend to the wounded, Cyclops finally forgives Professor X.

Messiah Complex

While using Cerebra and talking to Beast during the Messiah Complex storyline, Charles detects a new mutant so powerful it fries Cerebra's system. He asks Cyclops to send out a team to find out about the mutant.

Once the team has come back empty handed, he argues with Scott for not telling him about the team he deployed to find former Acolytes. Scott tells him outright that he does not need him to run the X-Men anymore.

This upsets Charles and annoys him later on when he overhears Cyclops briefing X-Factor on the situation. He also approaches the New X-Men in an attempt to help them figure out a non-violent way to help against the Purifiers, but is quickly rebuked by Surge, who questions where he was when they were getting attacked the first time, and that they did not need to learn from him.

Charles questions Cyclops' decision to send X-Force to hunt down his own son, Cable, in front of the students. Cyclops then tells Xavier that he is a distraction that will keep getting in the way and that he must leave the mansion.

Xavier is contacted by Cable, who lost the mutant newborn to the traitorous actions of Bishop, who in turn lost the child to the Marauders, and tells him that he is the only one who can help Cable save the future.

In the final fight, Xavier is accidentally shot in the head by Bishop. Immediately afterward Xavier's body disappears and Cyclops declares that there are no more X-Men.

Professor Xavier survives Bishop's gunshot but falls into a coma. Xavier is kidnapped by Exodus, Tempo, and Karima Shapandar. Exodus tries to heal Xavier, Xavier mentally fights Exodus.

Exodus finally approaches Magneto, who is apparently still depowered, for help. Magneto and Karima Shapandar are able to stir Xavier's memories and coax him out of his coma, though Xavier remains slightly confused and partly amnesiac. Later, Exodus confronts Magneto about Joanna Cargill's injury (Magneto was forced to shoot a laser through her eyeball to prevent her attempted an assassination of Xavier).

Exodus nearly kills Magneto, and Xavier drags Exodus onto the Astral Plane, putting Xavier's own newly restored mind at stake. Xavier defeats Exodus after a harrowing psionic battle, and Exodus reveals the reason he abducted Xavier and to restore his mind: Exodus wants Xavier to lead the Acolytes and find the mutant messiah child (now under the guardianship of Cable) to indoctrinate the child into their cause.

Xavier refuses. Emma Frost's telepathy picks up on the psychic fight, and Emma informs Cyclops that Xavier is alive. Xavier parts company with Magneto and Karima to try to regain his lost memories by visiting people from his past.

The first person Charles visits is Carter Ryking, who had gone insane after losing his powers. Charles reads Carter's memories and discovers that when the two were children they were used as test subjects by Nathan Milbury of the Black Womb Project, with the approval of Charles' father, Doctor Brian Xavier.

Xavier makes the connection Milbury and X-Men villain, Mister Sinister, who has apparently long been manipulating Charles' life in addition to other X-Men. Afterwards, he discovers he has been targeted by assassins.

Charles eventually discovers Mister Sinister had set up Charles, Sebastian Shaw, Juggernaut, and Ryking (Hazard) as potential new hosts for Sinister's mind.

Bleeding slowly to death, he apparently gives in to Sinister becoming the new Mister Sinister. But in reality, Xavier is still battling Sinister for control of his body.

As Sebastian Shaw and Gambit destroy Sinister's Cronus Machine, the device that he used to transfer his consciousness into new hosts, Xavier drives Sinister out of his body permanently.

Xavier thanks Shaw and Gambit for their help and declares he must go and see Cyclops immediately. Professor X returns to the X-Mansion to find it destroyed after recent events.

Afterwards, Xavier leaves the ruins of the X-Mansion to secretly meet up Cyclops by psychically coercing his former student for the visit. Xavier explains to Cyclops about the recent events with Mr. Sinister and tries to explain to Cyclops how Sinister has been manipulating Scott's and Jean's lives since when they were children.

Xavier attempts to have Scott give him permission to scan Scott's mind for traces of Sinister's influences, but instead, Scott turns the tables on Xavier by revealing that he has secretly invited Emma Frost into their entire meeting and also into Xavier's mind.

While in his mind, Emma forces Xavier to relive each of his morally ambiguous decisions under altruistic pretenses. As the issue continues, Charles realizes his human arrogance and that while some of his decisions were morally wrong, he must move forward with his life and deal with the consequences.

Emma ends her incursion into Xavier's mind by reminding him of Moira MacTaggert's last words. As he reflects on Moira's words, Xavier gives Cyclops his blessing to lead the X-Men and leaves to find his own path.

Following his encounter with Wolverine (in the "Original Sin" Arc) Professor Xavier seeks out his step-brother, the unstoppable Juggernaut in an attempt to reform him. After a conversation about the meaning of the word "Juggernaut" and a review of Juggernaut and Xavier's shared history Xavier offers Cain an empty box as a gift.

Confused by Xavier's gift Cain attempts to kill the Professor bringing an entire sports bar down over their heads in the process. Later Cain battles the X-Men in his full Juggernaut armor and conquers the planet.

Just as everything appears to be under the Juggernaut's control Xavier reappears and informs him that everything that has just taken place except for Juggernaut destroying the bar took place in Cain's mind.

A baffled Cain demands to know how Xavier managed to overcome his psychically shielded helmet to which the Professor replies that he decided to visit Cain in his sleep.

Professor Xavier then informs him that he now understands Cain as a person and that he will not attempt to get in his way or reform him again. But Xavier also warns Cain that if he gets in the way of the Professor's path to redemption Xavier will stop him permanently. Following his encounter with Cain it has been revealed that Xavier is now searching for Rogue.

After his bruising encounter with Cyclops and Emma Frost, Professor X is forced to revisit the biggest challenge and the biggest failure of his career, Wolverine, when the feral mutant asks for Charles' help in freeing his son from the clutches of the Hellfire Club.

As the two search for Daken, Wolverine reveals that when he first joined the X-Men he attempted to assassinate Xavier due to some unknown programming. In response, the Professor broke Logan's mind and rebuilt it so that any and all programming he received was forgotten. Logan also revealed that the real reason Xavier asked him to join the X-Men was that Charles "needed a weapon".

Eventually Professor Xavier and Wolverine locate Sebastian Shaw's mansion and attack his minions, just as they are about to enter a bomb explodes from within catching them both off guard. From the wreckage emerges an angry Sebastian who immobilizes Wolverine.

Meanwhile, Miss Sinister knocks Daken unconscious and has him taken to the med lab in the mansion's basement. As Shaw prepares to deliver a killing blow to Xavier, Wolverine recovers and stops him telling Xavier to rescue his son. Professor Xavier locates the med lab and after a quick psychic battle with Miss Sinister enters Daken's fractured mind. While in Daken's mind Xavier discovers Romulus's psychic tampering and comments that Daken's mind is even more broken than Wolverine's was.

Before Xavier can heal Daken a psychic bomb explodes causing Xavier to become comatose and Daken to wake up. Miss Sinister arrives and attempts to manipulate Daken who reveals that the psychic bomb in his head restored his memories and stabs Miss Sinister in the chest.

Meanwhile, Wolverine defeats Shaw and enters the mansion to find Daken standing over an unconscious Xavier preparing to kill him. Wolverine tells Daken that he will not let him hurt Xavier and the two fight.

Overcome with guilt over what happened to Daken and Itsu, Wolverine allows himself to be beaten. Just as Daken appears to have won Xavier pulls both of them onto the astral plane revealing that the psychic bomb had little effect on him because his psyche was already shattered.

Xavier then explains to Wolverine and Daken that Romulus is solely responsible for Itsu's death and that he lied to Daken about everything because he wanted Wolverine to become his weapon. As the three converse, Daken returns to the physical plane and prevents Shaw from killing Xavier.

With the truth revealed Wolverine and Daken decide to kill Romulus. As the two depart Wolverine tells Xavier that he forgives him for all of the dark moments in their history. Wolverine acknowledges that Professor Xavier allowed him to become a hero. Wolverine then tells the Professor that he hopes he will one day be able to forgive him for choosing to kill Romulus.

Professor Xavier recruits Gambit to go with him to Australia to find and help Rogue who is currently staying at the X-Men's old base in the Outback; unaware Danger is using Rogue as a conduit for her revenge against him.

In a prelude to the "Secret Invasion" storyline, Professor X was at the meeting of the Illuminati when it came to the discussion about the Skrulls planning an invasion by taking out Earth's heroes and posing as them. He claims he was unable to distinguish that Black Bolt had been replaced by a Skrull, and his powers were tested quickly by the Black Bolt Skrull.

Professor X leaves after learning even he can no longer trust the others, yet appears to have severely restricted the number of people he informs of the forthcoming alien invasion, as the X-Men were not prepared for the Skrulls, at least at first.

Xavier was not seen again during the events of Secret Invasion, though his X-Men in San Francisco are successful at repelling the invaders there through the use of the modified Legacy Virus.

Dark Reign

During the Dark Reign storyline, Professor X convinces Exodus to disband the Acolytes. A H.A.M.M.E.R. helicopter arrives and from inside appears Norman Osborn, who wants to talk to him.

During the Dark Avengers' arrival in San Francisco to enforce martial law and squelch the anti-mutant riots occurring in the city, Xavier appears (back in his wheelchair) in the company of Norman Osborn and publicly denounces Cyclops' actions and urges him to turn himself in.

However, this Xavier was revealed to be Mystique who Osborn found to impersonate Xavier in public. The real Xavier is shown in prison on Alcatraz and slowly being stripped of his telepathic powers while in psionic contact with Beast, who was arrested earlier for his part in the anti-mutant riots.

It was also revealed by Emma Frost that she and Professor X are both Omega Class Telepaths when she manages to detect the real Professor X.

Professor X helps Emma Frost enter Sentry's mind. However, as Emma frees him of the Void's influence, a minute sliver of the entity itself remains in her mind. Xavier quickly tells her to remain in her diamond armor state to prevent the Void from gaining access to her psi-powers. Professor X is later seen with Emma Frost where Beast is recuperating.

After what happened at Utopia, Xavier has come to live on the risen Asteroid M, rechristened Utopia, along with the rest of the X-Men, X-Club, and mutant refugees and is also allowed to join the Utopia lead council (Cyclops, Storm, Namor, Iceman, Beast, Wolverine and Emma Frost).

While he no longer continues to openly question every move that Cyclops makes, he is still concerned about some of his leadership decisions. Xavier had wanted to return to the mainland to clear his name, but in the aftermath of Osborn declaring Utopia as a mutant detention area, Cyclops refused to let him leave, stating that it would be a tactical advantage to have him as an ace in the hole in case the need arose.

To that end, he has kept Xavier out of the field and instead relied on Emma Frost, Psylocke and the Stepford Cuckoos respectively for their own psionic talents.

While attending the funeral of Yuriko Takiguchi, Magneto arrives at Utopia, apparently under peaceful motives. Xavier does not believe it, and attacks Magneto telepathically, causing Cyclops to force him to stand down. He later apologizes to Magneto for acting out of his old passions from their complicated relationship, which Magneto accepts.

Next, Professor Xavier is seen on Utopia delivering a eulogy at Nightcrawler's funeral. Like the other X-Men, he is deeply saddened by Kurt's death and anxious about the arrival of Cable and Hope.

Xavier is seen using his powers to help his son Legion control his many personalities and battle the Nimrods.

Afterwards, Professor X is seen surveying the aftermath of the battle from a helicopter. As Hope descends to the ground and cradles Cable's lifeless arm, Xavier reflects on everything that has transpired and states that, while he feels that Hope has indeed come to save mutant kind and revive his dream, she is still only a young woman and will have a long and difficult journey before she can truly achieve her potential.

AvX

During the "Avengers vs. X-Men" storyline, the Phoenix Force is split into five pieces and bonded with Cyclops, Emma Frost, Namor, Colossus and Magik (who become known as the Phoenix Five).

Eventually, Cyclops and Frost come to possess the full Phoenix Force, and Professor X is instrumental in confronting them both, and dies in the ensuing battle with Cyclops.

The Phoenix Force is subsequently forced to abandon Cyclops as a host by the efforts of both Hope Summers and the Scarlet Witch.

Xavier's body is later stolen by the Red Skull's S-Men while the group also captures Rogue and Scarlet Witch. Xavier's brain is removed and fused to the brain of the Red Skull. After Rogue and Scarlet Witch snapped out of the fight they were in, they find the lobotomized body of Professor X.

Red Skull uses the new powers conferred upon him by Professor X's brain to provoke anti-mutant riots. His plans are foiled by the Avengers and the X-Men, and the Skull escapes.

Professor X's spirit is later seen in the Heaven dimension along with Nightcrawler's spirit at the time when Azazel invades Heaven.

During the AXIS storyline, a fragment of Professor X's psyche (which had escaped the scrubbing of his memories) still existed in Red Skull's mind preventing him from unleashing the full potential of Professor X's powers.

During a fight with the Stark Sentinels, Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch attempt to cast a spell to invert the axis of Red Skull's brain and bring out the fragment of Professor X to defeat Onslaught.

Doctor Strange was targeted and captured by the Sentinels before they could cast the spell. When Magneto arrived with his supervillain allies, Doctor Doom and Scarlet Witch attempted to cast the inversion spell again and Red Onslaught was knocked unconscious and reverted to his Red Skull form.

Although they did not know whether Professor X was now in control, the Avengers decided to be cautious and take Red Skull to Stark Tower.

It was later revealed that the spell had actually caused all the heroes and villains present to undergo a "moral inversion" rather than simply bringing out Professor X in the Skull, with the result that the Skull and other villains became heroic while the Avengers and X-Men present became villainous. Eventually, the inversion was undone.

After the Skull mounts a telepathic assault that nearly allows him to take control of the Avengers, he is defeated when Deadpool places Magneto's old helmet on Rogue, allowing her to knock out the Skull and take him to Beast.

Beast is subsequently able to perform brain surgery on the Skull, extracting the part of Xavier's brain that was grafted onto the villain's own brain without causing any apparent damage to the Skull. Rogers attempts to claim the fragment for himself, but Rogue flies up and incinerates the fragment with the aid of the Human Torch, the two expressing hope that Xavier will rest in peace.

Return

The astral form of Professor Xavier has since been revealed to be imprisoned in the Astral Plane after Shadow King somehow acquired it upon Professor X's death.

After what appeared to be years in the Astral Plane, Professor X is able to trick Shadow King into playing him in a 'game' that lures Rogue, Mystique and Fantomex onto the Astral Plane, while turning others into carriers for the Shadow King's 'contagious' psychic essence. With the Shadow King certain of his victory, he fails to realize that Xavier's apparent 'surrender' to his game was really just him biding his time until the Shadow King's influence was distracted long enough for him to drop his already-subtly-weakened guard long enough for Xavier to break his bonds, luring in the three aforementioned X-Men as their identities were already fundamentally malleable.

With the Shadow King defeated, Xavier is apparently returned to the real world in the body of Fantomex, Fantomex reasoning that nobody really knows who he is as an individual beyond his status as one of the X-Men whereas this act of sacrifice will ensure that he is remembered for a great deed.

Proteus has spent years trapped in a psionic hellscape of the Astral Plane, where The Shadow King reigned supreme, only to escape.

Part of the reason that he could was the escape of Charles Xavier (who now chooses to go by X, since he is now in a younger body after escaping), and now X leads the X-Men directly into an ambush, as Proteus has warped an entire village with his powers, leading to a mind-to-mind battle that leaves X on the receiving end of a psychic beatdown.

Proteus has started his garden and his seeds are planted all over the world. Psylocke is in command and has a plan which mainly consists of Archangel using metal and Mystique morphing into his mother.

Once they drain him, Rogue and Bishop convert his energy and release him back to the universe. Whilst this all went down Psylocke and X combined forces to burn out the seeds across the planet. As they are working on it they discover they are not enough to accomplish the task. X mentions the network of psychics the Shadow King was using and that Betsy who is in control should tap into it.

She agrees and does so yet unbeknownst to her X was possessed by the Shadow King who violently erupts from X's head.

Following X's apparent death after the Shadow King exploded from his skull, the psychic villain tears the X-Men apart until X literally pulls himself back together (a feat he later refuses to explain), and he and Psylocke team up to harness the power of all of Earth's psychics to destroy the Shadow King.

As Psylocke says she feels no psychic trace of him anywhere, X implants comforting post-hypnotic psychic suggestions in his allies and then erases their memories (including allowing Warren Worthington to switch between his identities at will). Only Psylocke's memory is left intact, with X telling her she will be the one to "keep him honest" while he embarks on a new mission.

Dawn of X

X has since made his presence known to his former students and reveals his new plan for all mutantkind. Now clad in a Cerebro-like helmet, Xavier has apparently abandoned his dream for peaceful coexistence, and had turned Krakoa into a sovereign nation state for mutants as well as use it to apparently heal the X-Men from their ordeals during the showdown against the forces of O.N.E.

He then leads the X-Men into planting in seeds in strategic locations around the world and Mars, which, overnight, grow into massive plantlike "Habitats". As it turns out, these "Habitats" – and the plants that grew them – are extensions of Krakoa.

Through the advancement of mutant technology combined with Krakoa's unique abilities as a living mutant island, Professor X and the X-Men have embassies around the world. Also through this combination of technology and mutant power, Xavier have developed three drugs that could change human life – a pill that extends human life by five years, an adaptable universal antibiotic, and a pill that cures "diseases of the mind, in humans".” In exchange for recognizing the sovereignty of Krakoa, Professor X will give these drugs to mankind, with mutants living in peace on the island.

Xavier and Magneto later meet with Raven Darkholm inside his sanctum. The two mutant leaders both greatly pleased with the success of her mission as she presents what they'ed petitioned her to steal. A mysterious USB tab containing sensitive information stolen from Damage Control, Mystique would inquire for her payment as she had met their demands.

However, Xavier mentions that he still had more demands that needed to be met as they were building their protected future of Homo Sapiens Superior, seeming to psychokinetically beckon the contents of her theft into his hands while Mystique questions how much more needed to be done for his ultimate pet project.

Xavier and Magneto reveal the contents of the USB drive to Cyclops, which are shown to be information on Orchis, an organization dedicated to responding to a large-scale mutant threat and the plans of a Mother Mold.

They believe that the creation of the Mother Mold will herald a new generation of Sentinels and along with it, Nimrod. They task Cyclops with assembling a team to destroy the Mother Mold station. Although the team (composed of Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Husk, Mystique, Archangel, and Monet) is successfully, they are all killed in the process. X mourns them, vowing "No more."

Xavier is revealed to have upgraded Cerebro with the help of Forge, which is now able to copy and store the minds of mutants in a database.

After the Five (Hope Summers, Goldballs, Elixir, Proteus, and Tempus) are able to grow the bodies of deceased mutants, Xavier is able to copy the minds back in these empty shells. Thus, he is able to restore Cyclops's team, thanking them for what they did.

At the U.N., Xavier, Beast, and Emma celebrate with other ambassadors for the recognition of Krakoa as a sovereign nation. Xavier telepathically converses with Emma, revealing that he knows that she manipulated the Russian ambassador to abstain from the vote, before thanking her for her service.

Two days after the U.N. vote, Xavier, Magneto, and Wolverine are in Krakoa waiting besides several portals. While Wolverine expresses his misgivings about the upcoming event, Xavier and Magneto assure him all will be alright. Soon after, several villainous mutants, including Mister Sinister, Sebastian Shaw, Exodus, Selene and Apocalypse arrive through the portals.

Apocalypse in particular expresses satisfaction at arriving and Krakoa responds in the same way. Magneto and Xavier reveal that they have invited all mutants, even those who have fought against them in the past, to Krakoa, to form a society. The assembled villainous mutants agree to their terms, and Xavier shakes Apocalypse's hand, welcoming him and the others to their home."

While peace reigns on Krakoa, a mysterious team of assassins HALO drops into the island and assassinates Xavier, destroying his Cerebro helmet in the process.

The Quiet Council hides Xavier's death from the rest of the world, and through the activation of a Cerebro backup, and the efforts of The Five, Xavier is reborn once more.

Soon after, he partakes in a global conference alongside Magneto and Apocalypse, professing that he still loves humanity, whilst subtly warning them in regards to his previous assassination - and his knowledge of an ongoing assassination attempt at the forum itself, foiled by Cyclops and Gorgon.

Powers and Abilities

Professor X is a mutant who possesses vast telepathic powers, and is among the strongest and most powerful telepaths in the Marvel Universe. He is able to perceive the thoughts of others or project his own thoughts within a radius of approximately 250 miles (400 km).

Xavier's telepathy once covered the entire world; although following this, Magneto altered the Earth's electromagnetic field to restrict Xavier's telepathic range.

While not on Earth, Xavier's natural telepathic abilities have reached across space to make universal mental contact with multiple alien races.

With extreme effort, he can also greatly extend the range of his telepathy. He can learn foreign languages by reading the language centers of the brain of someone adept, and alternately "teach" languages to others in the same manner. Xavier once trained a new group of mutants mentally, subjectively making them experience months of training together, while only hours passed in the real world.

Xavier's vast psionic powers enable him to manipulate the minds of others, warp perceptions to make himself seem invisible, project mental illusions, cause loss of particular memories or total amnesia, and induce pain or temporary mental and/or physical paralysis in others.

Within close range, he can manipulate almost any number of minds for such simple feats. However, he can only take full possession of one other mind at a time, and must strictly be within that person's physical presence. He is one of the few telepaths skilled enough to communicate with animals and even share their perceptions.

He can also telepathically take away or control people's natural bodily functions and senses, such as sight, hearing, smell, taste, or even mutant powers.

A side effect of his telepathy is that he has an eidetic memory and his brain can assimilate and process impossibly huge amounts of raw data in an astonishingly short amount of time.

He has displayed telepathic prowess sufficient to confront Ego the Living Planet (while aided by Cadre K) as well as narrowly defeat Exodus.

However, he cannot permanently "reprogram" human minds to believe what he might want them to believe even if he wanted to do so, explaining that the mind is an organism that would always recall the steps necessary for it to reach the present and thus 'rewrite' itself to its original setting if he tried to change it.

However, his initial reprogramming of Wolverine lasted several years, despite Wolverine overcoming the reprogramming much faster than an ordinary human because of his healing factor.

He is able to project from his mind 'bolts' composed of psychic energy, enabling him to stun the mind of another person into unconsciousness, inflict mental trauma, or even cause death. These 'bolts' inflict damage only upon other minds, having a negligible effect on non-mental beings, if any.

The manner in which Xavier's powers function indicates that his telepathy is physical in some way, as it can be enhanced by physical means (for example, Cerebro), but can also be disrupted by physical means (for example, Magneto's alteration of the Earth's magnetic field).

Xavier can perceive the distinct mental presence/brain waves of other superhuman mutants within a small radius of himself. To detect mutants to a wider area beyond this radius, he must amplify his powers through Cerebro and subsequently Cerebra, computer devices of his own design which are sensitive to the psychic/physical energies produced by the mind.

Professor X can project his astral form into a psychic dimension known as the astral plane. There, he can use his powers to create objects, control his surroundings, and even control and destroy the astral forms of others. He cannot project this form over long distances.

Uncanny X-Men writer Ed Brubaker has claimed that, after being de-powered by the Scarlet Witch, and then re-powered by the M'Kraan Crystal, Charles' telepathy is more powerful than was previously known. However, the extent of this enhancement is unknown.

Years prior to initial publishing, Charles Xavier had an undefined level of telekinesis. This aspect of his powers were potent enough to cause catastrophic system disruption in computerized appliances.

Such an attribute has faded, however. His evil counterpart Cassandra Nova Xavier would possess this ability, indicating he still possessed the potential for them.

This potential was proven true after his death and resurgence within the younger, stronger body of Charlie Cluster 7. The Professor, using the moniker X, fashioned a Cerebro like a helmet which acts as a focusing device for his psionic powers and used it to galvanize latent aspects of his X-Gene to stimulate some dormant properties, seemingly using telekinesis to will a flash drive on Mystique's person into his hand.

Charles Xavier is a genius with multiple doctorates. He is a world-renowned geneticist, a leading expert in mutation, possesses considerable knowledge of various life sciences, and is the inventor of Cerebro.

He possesses Ph.D.s in Genetics, Biophysics, Psychology, and Anthropology, and an M.D. in Psychiatry. He is highly talented in devising equipment for utilizing and enhancing psionic powers. He is also a great tactician and strategist, effectively evaluating situations and devising swift responses.

During his travels in Asia, Xavier learned martial arts, acquiring "refined combat skills" according to Magneto. When these skills are coordinated in tandem with his telepathic abilities, Xavier is a dangerous unarmed combatant, capable of sensing the intentions of others and countering them with superhuman efficiency. He also has extensive knowledge of pressure points.

Charles Xavier was also given possession of the Mind Gem. It allows the user to boost mental power and access the thoughts and dreams of other beings. Backed by the Power Gem, it is possible to access all minds in existence simultaneously. Like all other former Illuminati members, Xavier has sworn to never use the gem and to keep its location hidden.

The Xavier Protocols

Totally NOT a blatant rip-off of the Batman Protocols from DC... /end sarcasm

The Xavier Protocols are a set of doomsday plans created by Professor X. The protocols detail the best way to kill many powerful mutant characters, including the X-Men and Xavier himself, should they become too large of a danger.

The Xavier Protocols are first mentioned during the Onslaught crossover and first seen in Excalibur #100 in Moira MacTaggert's lab. Charles Xavier compiled a list of the Earth's most powerful mutants and plans on how to defeat them if they become a threat to the world. They are first used after Onslaught grows too powerful.

Only parts of the actual protocols are ever shown. In the Operation: Zero Tolerance crossover Bastion obtains an encrypted copy of the protocols, intending to use them against the X-Men.

However, Cable infiltrates the X-Mansion and secures all encrypted files before Bastion has a chance to decrypt them.

Due to the tampering of Bastion and his Sentinels, the X-Mansion computer system Cerebro gains autonomy and seeks to destroy the X-Men by employing its knowledge of the Xavier Protocols. In a virtual environment created by Professor X, Cerebro executes the Xavier Protocols against the X-Men.

Each protocol is activated by the presence of a different combination of X-Men and were written by Xavier himself: Code 0-0-0 (Charles Xavier) was activated by Moira MacTaggert, Cyclops, and Jean Grey.

This file is both an entry on Charles Xavier, as well as an introduction to the Xavier Protocols. It contained a holographic image of Charles Xavier, reading the following message: "Moira, Scott, Jean; if you three are seeing these images, then I have become a mortal threat to my X-Men. In this instance, I must be stopped by any means necessary. Some years ago, I made a study of various forms of possible defense against my own psychic abilities. The image next to me is that of an anti-psionic armor. The wearer should be protected from my talent. When I finish speaking, a blueprint for this armor will be downloaded."

Code 0-2-1 (Wolverine) was activated by Archangel, Cyclops, and Jean Grey. Code 1-3-9 (Cable) was activated by Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Cannonball. Other X-Men who have faced their Xavier Protocols are Colossus, Rogue, Shadowcat, Nightcrawler, Storm, and Gambit.

Professor X last seen back in BP 2019 Day 234!

Cavendish Mews is a smart set of flats in Mayfair where flapper and modern woman, the Honourable Lettice Chetwynd has set up home after coming of age and gaining her allowance. To supplement her already generous allowance, and to break away from dependence upon her family, Lettice has established herself as a society interior designer, so her flat is decorated with a mixture of elegant antique Georgian pieces and modern Art Deco furnishings, using it as a showroom for what she can offer to her well heeled clients.

Today Lettice is sitting in her drawing room reading a book over a cup of tea from her Royal Doulton tea set, when an urgent pressing of the electric doorbell to the flat interrupts her mid paragraph, just as Miss Diana Beauleigh in rescued by Jack Carstares, an English nobleman turned highwayman. She looks up perplexed. She has no clients with appointments today. The electric buzz of the doorbell rings through the flat again. Her face drains of all colour as she suddenly wonders whether she has forgotten she has a client or potential client visiting today. Ever since it was announced publicly that she was decorating Dickie and Margot’s Penzance property, interest in her design services have increased. She jumps up from the comfort of her tub chair where she has been curled up with her book and scurries over to her desk where she flips through her leather diary.

The bell buzzes urgently again.

“I’m coming, alright. I’m coming.” mutters Lettice’s maid, Edith, irritably as she makes her way through the service entrance from the flat’s kitchen to the front door. “Keep your hair on*.”

Disgruntled, Edith opens the door to Lettice’s old childhood chum and Wiltshire neighbour, Gerald Bruton. Gerald, also a member of the aristocracy who has tried to gain some independence from his penurious family by designing gowns from a shop in Grosvenor Street.

“Edith! Oh beautiful Edith! Isn’t it a glorious day?” Gerald chortles jovially as he bursts through Lettice’s front door beaming from ear to ear, clutching a beribboned box, a bunch of pink roses and a bottle of champagne. “Is Lettice home?”

“Mr. Bruton!” Edith gasps in shock as he wraps his already full arms around her shoulders and starts spinning her around the entrance hall of the flat. “Oh Mr. Bruton, do stop!”

“Gerald!” Lettice cries, appearing at the door that leads from the hallway into the drawing room. A bemused smile graces her lips as she watches the rather ungainly and awkward waltz between her best friend and her maid. “Unhand my maid this minute, you… you…” She can’t quite find the word she wants as she tries not to laugh and embarrass Edith, but finally settles on one which is most inept. “You brute.” Placing her arms akimbo as she leans against the doorframe she asks, “What on earth?”

“Oh darling Lettuce Leaf!” Gerald exclaims, dropping Edith, much to her relief, and waltzing up to his friend. “These are for you!” He thrusts the pink roses into her arms, followed by the beautifully gift wrapped box.

“Roses? Chocolates?” Lettice queries, looking down at the stylish blue tapestry covered box in her hands, too surprised by Gerald’s behaviour and expensive gifts to rebuke her friend for using her loathed childhood nickname.

“From Harrods my darling, just for you!” He spins back to the maid, who stiffens in fear of being swept up by him in a waltz again. “Oh Edith, bring a wine cooler!” He hoists the champagne bottle enthusiastically in the air. “We must have champagne!”

“Deutz and Geldermann?” Lettice questions again, noting the label on the bottle held aloft in her friend’s right hand. “Gerald you can’t afford that! What’s gotten into you?”

“Oh can’t I, darling? You just wait until you hear my news.”

Gerald goes to take a turn at spinning Lettice, but she shies away so that he can’t grasp her.

“Can you please put these in some water, Edith,” Lettice says to her startled maid in a very businesslike fashion as she hands the beautiful pink roses, obviously from Monsieur Blanchet’s Regent Street Flower Box, over to her. She turns back and smiles cheekily at Gerald. “Before Mr. Bruton crushes them in his reverie.”

“Yes Miss,” Edith replies sighing with relief at her mistress’ calm voice and reasonable request after Gerald’s unsettling behaviour, taking the flowers. “And the champagne, Miss?”

“Yes,” Lettice smirks. “Best take it off Mr. Bruton before he smashes it over his own head, or worse yet on my parquetry floor, for his own Quixote reason**.”

Gerald blushes red as he sheepishly hands the bottle of champagne to Edith, suddenly realising how erratic and peculiar his performance must appear to the two women before him.

“And bring a plate for the chocolates, Edith.” Lettice continues as she turns on her heel, clutching the beribboned box closely to her chest. “Now come along Gerald and tell me why you have chosen to interrupt me at a very exciting point in ‘The Black Moth.’***.”

Lettice and Gerald walk through the door into the drawing room where Lettice resumes her seat and Gerald sits in the tub chair opposite her.

“You gave me quite a start you know, Gerald.”

“Did I, darling?”

“I thought for a moment that I’d misjudged my days and that I had a client booked to visit.”

“You don’t do you?” Gerald raises his delicate hands with its long fingers to his mouth.

“Fortunately not.” Lettice sighs with widening eyes. “For if I had and you burst through the door waltzing and carrying on the way you did with poor Edith, they probably would have fled in a panic, thinking this a madhouse!”

“Oh don’t poor Edith me,” Gerald scoffs with a sweep of his hands. “Cinderella needs to be swept off to the ball by a handsome prince every now and then.”

“Well, kindly find another Cinderella and leave Edith alone. Poor little mouse didn’t know what you were about.” She looks over at her friend draped dramatically across her tub chair opposite her. “Not that I know what you’re about today.” She shakes her head and her eyes narrow. “Waltzing with my maid! Have you been drinking, Gerald?”

“Not yet,” He breathes excitedly with a wry smile as he swings his legs off the arm of the chair and swivels down, giving Lettice and intense stare. “But I’m hoping to with you. Once we finish my bottle of Deutz and Geldermann, I was hoping you might have a bottle or two of De Rochegré left over from the party that we could drink. I feel like getting rather tight****! Shall we?”

“Now there’s no call for that, darling,” Lettice counters cautiously. “Unless of course I know the reason for it.”

“Must I have a reason to get tight with my oldest and best friend in the whole wide world?”

“Now, now! Don’t play coy with me, darling. You’re obviously fit to bursting to tell me! What news do you have to share? What is all this about Gerald? Harrods chocolates! Deutz and Geldermann champagne! How can you suddenly afford these luxuries when just last week you were using my electricity to embroider the bodice of an evening frock for Mrs. Hatchett, rather than run up your own electricity bill?”

“Well, it is true that I’ve bankrupted myself and will need to come and eat my meals here for the next fortnight if I am to avoid starvation until I get my next pitifully inadequate monthly allowance. However, all that might be about to change, because of these!” Gerald withdraws three thick black card folios that have remained hidden beneath his left arm, handing them to Lettice with a flourish.

Lettice takes them and opens them on her lap. Inside each she finds a glossy black and white photograph from Margot and Dickie’s wedding, taken by Bassano Photographers*****. Two are studio portraits, one featuring Margot with her four country cousin bridesmaids and the other of her in profile, showing off her beautifully beaded lace bandeau****** and bridal veil. The last shows Dickie and Margot flanked by the Marquess and Marchioness of Taunton on the steps of St Marks, North Audley Street*******.

“Oh!” Lettice exclaims in delight. “Wedding photos! How did you get these so soon?” She runs her fine fingers along the edge of their gilt black card folios. “Oh,” she frowns. “Doesn’t the Marchioness look dour!”

“Oh pooh the Marchioness!” Gerald spits, flapping his hand at her image in black and white, dressed in her old-fashioned Edwardian picture hat and conservative dress, looking like a cross Queen Mary.

“I thought that was my line,” Lettice giggles, remembering saying it at the wedding breakfast the previous fortnight.

“What do you think of Margot?”

“Oh well, she looks positively radiant!” Lettice enthuses. “Just as a bride should look.”

Gerald frowns. “And gown in the photos?”

“Well you know I love Margot’s wedding gown, Gerald, darling.”

“Yes, but do you think it looks good in the photos?”

Lettice studies the photos at length, and it is only then that Gerald sees the mischievous smirk on her lips.

“Oh you!” he hisses at her, slapping her bare arm playfully as Lettice breaks into a peal of girlish laughter.

“It looks wonderful, Gerald.” Lettice assures him. “Even the bridesmaid’s dresses don’t look too frightful, not that you made them, but yes, Margot’s dress look divine, darling!”

Just as she speaks, Edith walks into the room with a silver tray, on which she carries the champagne in a wine cooler, two champagne flutes and a plate for the chocolates.

“Thank you, Edith.” Lettice acknowledges her maid as she places the items from the tray onto the black japanned table between them. “And the flowers?”

“Just coming, Miss.” Edith bobs a curtsey and retreats to the kitchen.

“So, are these the photos that are going to appear in Vogue then, Gerald?” Lettice asks her friend excitedly.

“And in the society pages of the papers too!” Gerald enthuses in return.

“Oh hoorah! I told you that this would be the making of you, Gerald darling!”

Gerald withdraws the champagne from the silver cooler and pops the cork before pouring sparkling golden liquid first into Lettice’s glass and then his own as Lettice busily starts unpacking a few of the chocolates onto the plate Edith provided, sneakily popping a hazelnut praline into her mouth before Gerald can slap her fingers away.

“Share, Lettuce Leaf!” Gerald scolds.

“I thought these were for me,” Lettice says with a mouth full of chocolate. “And don’t call me that Gerald, you know I don’t like it.”

“And I don’t like it when you don’t share!” Gerald snatches a strawberry cream and pops it quickly between his lips, smiling broadly at Lettice. “You’ve always been terribly spoilt, coming from the wealthiest family in the county and you never liked sharing your toys.”

“Rotter!” Lettice laughs. “I shared them with you.”

“Begrudgingly.”

“Well, yes.” She snatches up a Turkish delight daintily between her fingers before popping it in her mouth.

“Now who’s the rotter?” Gerald gasps dramatically in mock horror. “Gobbling up my favourite variety of chocolate.”

“Knowing Harrods, there will be another one in the box.” she replies with a self satisfied smile.

Gerald pounces upon the box and peels back the tissue paper, his eyes busily darting about the selection left inside before discovering a second Turkish delight which he quickly scoffs.

Edith returns with the roses neatly arranged in a glass vase and places it on the low table between the two smirking friends with mouths full.

“Oh Edith?” Lettice manages to say between chewing the rosewater sweet centre of the chocolate.

“Yes Miss?” Edith replies.

“Do we have any De Rochegré champagne left from Dickie and Margot’s party?”

“We have about three left, Miss.”

“Good!” Lettice replies. “Can you pull out two.” She looks over playfully at Gerald, squaring her shoulders. “Gerald and I are going to get rather tight!”

“Yes Miss.” Edith replies in bewilderment before bobbing a curtsey and departing again, retreating to the relative safety and normalcy of the kitchen.

Lettice picks up her champagne flute, and Gerald his.

“Well darling,” Lettice holds her glass aloft. “With photos like this showing off your work, here is to the imminent success of the House of Bruton!”

“I’ll drink to that!” Gerald sighs, clinking his glass with hers. “Cheers!”

*Meaning to keep calm and be patient, the earliest occurrence of the phrase “to keep your hair on” is recorded in The Entr’acte magazine in London in 1873, which mentioned that at the Winchester, a London music hall, an artist named Ted Callingham sang “Roving Joe” and “Keep Your Hair On”, two very laughable comic songs. A year later in 1874, it was being used commonly amongst the working classes. It is generally said that the phrase is based on the image of pulling one’s hair out in exasperation, anger or frustration, however some connect it to an earlier phrase from the Eighteenth Century “pulling off one’s wig” which refers to irascible and aged gentlemen, “when mad with passion,” have been known not only to curse and swear, but to tear their wigs from their heads, and to trample them under their feet, or to throw them into the fire.

**Quixote reason comes from Miguel de Cervantes novel of Don Quixote and means an impractical or idealistic reason for something.

***The Black Moth is a novel written by famous English novelist and short-story writer, Georgette Heyer. Her writing career began in 1921, when she turned a story for her younger brother into the novel The Black Moth. She wrote in both the regency romance and detective fiction genres, The Black Moth being the former, for which she is perhaps best known.

****To get tight is an old fashioned term used to describe getting drunk.

*****Bassano Ltd. Royal Photographers was created by photographer Alexander (Alessandro) Bassano in 1850. Originally located in Regent Street Piccadilly, by 1921 the studio had moved to Dover Street Mayfair. As the name suggests, Bassano was the choice for society photography portraits in London after Alexander photographed Queen Victoria and members of the Royal Family from the 1870s. The studio’s photograph of Lord Kitchener formed the basis for the Great War recruiting poster “Your Country Needs You!”

******A bandeau is a narrow band worn round the head to hold the hair in position which was at its height of popularity in the 1920s.

*******St. Mark’s Church Mayfair, is a Grade I listed building, in the heart of London's Mayfair district, on North Audley Street. St Mark's was built between 1825 and 1828 as a response to the shortage of churches in the area. The population in Mayfair had grown with the demand for town houses by the aristocracy and the wealthy, as they moved in from the country. The building was constructed in the Greek revival style to the designs of John Peter Gandy. In 1878 the architect Arthur Blomfield made significant changes to the church, adding a timber roof, and introducing Gothic style features. The thirty-four feet (ten metre) façade, together with the elegant porch, is known as one of the finest in London. Being in Mayfair, it was a popular place for the weddings of aristocratic families. It was deconsecrated in 1974, and today it is used as a mixed use venue.

This 1920s upper-class domestic scene is different to what you may think, for it is made up entirely of 1:12 size dollhouse miniatures.

Fun things to look for in this tableau include:

The three photos, which I have put into the black card folios of my own making, are all real wedding photos from the 1920s, produced to high standards in 1:12 size on photographic paper by Little Things Dollhouse Miniatures in Lancashire.

The two filled champagne flutes were made by Karen Ladybug Miniatures in the United Kingdom. The Deutz and Geldermann champagne bottle is also an artisan miniature and made of glass with a miniature copy of a real Deutz and Geldermann label and some real foil wrapped around its neck. It was also made by Little Things Dollhouse Miniatures in Lancashire. The silver wine cooler it stands in is made by Warwick Miniatures in Ireland, who are well known for the quality and detail applied to their pieces. The chocolates in the foreground have been made in England by hand from clay by former chef turned miniature artisan, Frances Knight. Her work is incredibly detailed and realistic, and she says that she draws her inspiration from her years as a chef and her imagination. Each chocolate is only one to one and half millimetres in diameter and around one millimetre in height! And yes, two of the chocolates are wrapped up in foil! The box of chocolates itself, which has chocolates affixed inside comes from Mary Jane’s Dollhouse Emporium in the United Kingdom. The pink roses were hand made by Beautifully Handmade Miniatures in Kettering.

Lettice’s drawing room is furnished with beautiful J.B.M. miniatures. The Art Deco tub chairs are of black japanned wood and have removable cushions, just like their life sized examples. To the left of the fireplace is a Hepplewhite drop-drawer bureau and chair of black japanned wood which has been hand painted with chinoiserie designs, even down the legs and inside the bureau. The chair set has a rattan seat, which has also been hand woven.

The fireplace is a 1:12 miniature resin Art Deco fireplace which is flanked by brass accessories including an ash brush with real bristles.

On the left hand side of the mantle is an Art Deco metal clock hand painted with wonderful detail by British miniature artisan Victoria Fasken.

In the middle of the mantle is a miniature artisan hand painted Art Deco statue on a “marble” plinth. Made by Warwick Miniatures in England, it is a 1:12 copy of the “Theban Dancer” sculpture created by Claire-Jeanne-Roberte Colinet in 1925.

The carpet beneath the furniture is a copy of a popular 1920s style Chinese silk rug, and the geometric Art Deco wallpaper is beautiful hand impressed paper given to me by a friend, which inspired the whole “Cavendish Mews – Lettice Chetwynd” series.

Isaiah 54:7-10

For a brief moment I deserted you,

but with great compassion I will gather you.

In overflowing anger for a moment

I hid my face from you,

but with everlasting love I will have compassion on you,"

says the LORD, your Redeemer.

"This is like the days of Noah to me:

as I swore that the waters of Noah

should no more go over the earth,

so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you,

and will not rebuke you.

For the mountains may depart

and the hills be removed,

but my steadfast love shall not depart from you,

and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,"

says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

Legate Mark and his troops set up camp for the night, or so it seems...

Labienus clenched his fists in anger. "Such a cowardly withdrawal on our part! If our ancestors knew of it they would rise from the funeral ground to rebuke us terribly! I have never been so ashamed in my life!!"

Mark gazed calmly into the fire.

"Better to withdraw than to meet your ancestors in person in the afterlife, Labienus. The wise can realize when victory is impossible."

Tribune Theodorus adjusted his chin strap.

"What can we do now? Perhaps there is another way through the mountains?"

Labienus' brow wrinkled in frustration. "Don't ask the obvious, Theodorus! There must be another way through those cliffs!"

Mark lifted his gaze from the fire and raised his hand for silence.

"Before the sun went down I sent the horsemen to scout the mountains. If there is a pass unknown to us presently they will inform us as to its whereabouts."

Mark had barely finished speaking when the cavalry centurion strode up to the commander's fire.

"Sir, the outlook is not pleasant. We have searched the cliff face in both directions for about ten miles, only in one place is it possible to get through..."

Labienus raised his fist in excitement. "Aha! Then we can march around them and cut off their their supply lines!"

The centurion shook his head.

"I think not, Sir Tribune. I saw the crevice myself. It is very steep and extremely narrow, scare a goat could make its way up."

Mark put his hand to his chin as if deep in thought.

"So, it would be unlikely to get the legion through and across before daybreak..."

The cavalryman sighed heavily.

"No, Sir. That would be nigh impossible."

Theodorus raised his head to the stars and wailed.

"Even if we tried to climb the crevice we'd just be ambushed mid-way by daybreak! Or they'll just stop us at the NEXT pass! We're doomed any way we try!"

Labienus drew his sword in rage at both the unhappy news and his annoying co-commander. "Silence, you fool!"

Mark took a step forward and stretched forth his hand.

"Silence, both of you! Sheath your sword, Labienus, or I shall take it from you!"

All four stood quietly for a moment, then Mark snapped his fingers. A plan had come to mind.

"Perhaps we cannot all cross the mountains, but what if a small band of soldiers were to eek through while the main force stayed here. Even if it took them all night to cross and circle round, the main body could attack at dawn and at the opportune moment the select few could attack the enemy from behind and cut them down while they least suspect it!"

The cavalry centurion nodded in assent. "A dozen picked men could get cross easy enough."

Labienus cocked an eyebrow.

"That seems plausible, but not without considerable risk. How do we keep the Tylisians from intercepting the strike force?"

Mark now raised both hands in excitement.

"We keep the fires going to make them believe we are all here! In fact, light even more fires than you need! They will hardly leave their pass if they seem to see all of us before it! We shall utterly destroy them before daybreak tomorrow! Labienus, get the main body ready for a full frontal attack tomorrow at dawn exactly. Theodorus, you're with me. Let us select the bravest of the brave to follow us over the cliff."

To Be Continued!

This is really just a test to see how my newish camera does in low light situations. A little grainy but not bad IMO. ;)

TFVAHAGD!

Psalm 103

Of David.

1 Praise the Lord, my soul.

Lord my God, you are very great;

you are clothed with splendor and majesty.

2 The Lord wraps himself in light as with a garment;

he stretches out the heavens like a tent

3 and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters.

He makes the clouds his chariot

and rides on the wings of the wind.

4 He makes winds his messengers,[a]

flames of fire his servants.

5 He set the earth on its foundations;

it can never be moved.

6 You covered it with the watery depths as with a garment;

the waters stood above the mountains.

7 But at your rebuke the waters fled,

at the sound of your thunder they took to flight;

8 they flowed over the mountains,

they went down into the valleys,

to the place you assigned for them.

9 You set a boundary they cannot cross;

never again will they cover the earth.

10 He makes springs pour water into the ravines;

it flows between the mountains.

11 They give water to all the beasts of the field;

the wild donkeys quench their thirst.

12 The birds of the sky nest by the waters;

they sing among the branches.

13 He waters the mountains from his upper chambers;

the land is satisfied by the fruit of his work.

14 He makes grass grow for the cattle,

and plants for people to cultivate—

bringing forth food from the earth:

15 wine that gladdens human hearts,

oil to make their faces shine,

and bread that sustains their hearts.

16 The trees of the Lord are well watered,

the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.

17 There the birds make their nests;

the stork has its home in the junipers.

18 The high mountains belong to the wild goats;

the crags are a refuge for the hyrax.

19 He made the moon to mark the seasons,

and the sun knows when to go down.

20 You bring darkness, it becomes night,

and all the beasts of the forest prowl.

21 The lions roar for their prey

and seek their food from God.

22 The sun rises, and they steal away;

they return and lie down in their dens.

23 Then people go out to their work,

to their labor until evening.

24 How many are your works, Lord!

In wisdom you made them all;

the earth is full of your creatures.

25 There is the sea, vast and spacious,

teeming with creatures beyond number—

living things both large and small.

26 There the ships go to and fro,

and Leviathan, which you formed to frolic there.

27 All creatures look to you

to give them their food at the proper time.

28 When you give it to them,

they gather it up;

when you open your hand,

they are satisfied with good things.

29 When you hide your face,

they are terrified;

when you take away their breath,

they die and return to the dust.

30 When you send your Spirit,

they are created,

and you renew the face of the ground.

31 May the glory of the Lord endure forever;

may the Lord rejoice in his works—

32 he who looks at the earth, and it trembles,

who touches the mountains, and they smoke.

33 I will sing to the Lord all my life;

I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

34 May my meditation be pleasing to him,

as I rejoice in the Lord.

35 But may sinners vanish from the earth

and the wicked be no more.

Praise the Lord, my soul.

Praise the Lord

“May I be no man’s enemy, and may I be the friend of that which is eternal and abides. May I never quarrel with those nearest me: and if I do, may I be reconciled quickly. May I love, seek, and attain only that which is good. May I wish for all men’s happiness and envy none. May I never rejoice in the ill-fortune of one who has wronged me. When I have done or said what is wrong, may I never wait for the rebuke of others, but always rebuke myself until I make amends. May I win no victory that harms either me or my opponent. May I reconcile friends who are angry with one another. May I never fail a friend who is in danger. When visiting those in grief may I be able by gentle and healing words to soften their pain. May I respect myself. May I always keep tame that which rages within me. May I accustom myself to be gentle, and never be angry with people because of circumstances. May I never discuss who is wicked and what wicked things he has done, but know good men and follow in their footsteps.” (Prayer of Eusebius, 3rd century)

A rat rod is a custom car with a deliberately worn-down, unfinished appearance, typically lacking paint, showing rust, and made from cheap or cast-off parts.

Hot Rod magazine editor Gary Baskerville is often given credit for coining the term rat rod to describe a hot rod built by the artist Robert Williams in the early 1990s. Williams later said of the car that it was “made to look like a heap,” with its barebones build quality and rusty shell. When Baskerville saw the car, it reminded him of a rat bike, so he called it a rat rod. Williams’s car established a trend of rebuking mainstream hot-rodding culture, which emphasized clean, chrome exteriors and sometimes left hot-rodders unwilling to drive their expensive cars. While other early examples were based on 1940s hot rods, many rat rods have since been built in imitation of the hot rods of the 1950s–60s. Some have even taken to calling hot rods in progress or running cars with ratty exteriors from much later eras rat rods, sometimes to the chagrin of their owners or to rat rod enthusiasts.

Wickham Place is the London home of Lord and Lady Southgate, their children and staff. Located in fashionable Belgravia it is a fine Georgian terrace house.

Today we are in the day nursery where we are celebrating the Southgate’s daughter, Sarah’s, birthday. As instructed by Lady Southgate, the children, Piers and Sarah, have been taken for a special trip to St. James’ Park to feed the swans and other waterfowl that live on Duck Island on St. James’ Park Lake by Nanny Tessa. Whilst they are away, the Southgate’s cook, Mrs. Bradley, and her scullery maid Agnes set the nursery table with the china and tablecloth especially reserved for special occasions, Nanny Tessa’s beloved floral teapot, a vase of fresh flowers from the Wickham Place garden, a jug of milk, a jug of freshly squeezed orange juice, some beautiful floral cupcakes and a strawberry Victoria sponge cake made by Mrs. Bradley and Agnes.

Bursting into the nursery, Piers and Sarah stop in their tracks, their mouths and eyes agog at the beautiful table setting.

“Oh Piers, look!” gasps Sarah. “Isn’t it wonderful! Do you suppose it’s for me?”

“Well of course it’s for you,” Piers scoffs with the knowledge that the year and a half of gives him. “Who else would it be for?”

“Happy birthday Sarah!” Lady Southgate exclaims with pure joy, slipping out from her hiding place through the door of the adjoining night nursery where Nanny Tessa and the children sleep.

“Mamma!” Sarah gasps.

Forgetting all the protocol that is usually associated with a visit from their parents, Sarah and Piers rush from Nanny Tessa’s side into their mother’s open arms, as the lady bends down and envelops her in a warm embrace. They lavish each other in kisses and laugh wholeheartedly.

Unlike most of her British friends, Lady Southgate has a different idea about parenting and doesn’t like to remain the cool and distant figure most Edwardian children view their parents as. She finds any excuse she can to visit the nursery and enjoys spending time with her children when she can, taking an active interest in their lives. Nanny Tessa, a seasoned nanny, does not entirely approve of Lady Southgate’s rather unorthodox approach to parenting, and if Lady Southgate’s husband knew, he wouldn’t approve either. Both come from the majority that like the status quo who believe that children should only be seen for one hour every evening under strict supervision of their nanny in the drawing room just before bedtime.

“Let me look at you!” Lady Southgate exclaims, resting back on her haunches placing a hand on each child’s cheek as she takes in their happy smiles and sparking eyes. “Why Sarah, I do think your hair is looking particularly beautiful today with that lovely pale blue bow.” She turns to her son. “And Piers, I’m sure you’ve grown a full inch since last I saw you!”

“Oh, I have Mamma!” Piers leans back and stands proudly to attention. “Look!” He places his right hand flatly across his head as if indicating an invisible measurement.

“Ahem!” Nanny Tessa bristles, looking down her nose in distain at the vulgar show of emotion. “Children! That’s no way to greet your Mamma.”

The children’s faces both fall a little as they turn to their Nanny, who loves them very much, but is quite strict about good manners and proper behaviour.

“Oh nonsense, Nanny!” Lady Southgate chides her quickly. “This isn’t the drawing room before bedtime, is it children?” The children smile and shake their heads. “No! So, I think we can allow ourselves a little informality on this occasion,” She smiles. “Especially as it is Sarah’s birthday.” She reaches behind her and withdraws a present wrapped in magenta wrapping paper that she has kept hidden from view.

“Oh Mamma!” Sarah gasps. “Thank you very much!” She kisses her mother delicately on the cheek and accepts the gift held out to her with a sudden awkward shyness.

“But,” Lady Southgate adds seriously. “This must be out little secret. All of our secret.” She looks sharply at the nanny, who quickly looks away attempting avoid her gaze and thus become complicit in this secret. “So, when you come down this evening and tell your Pappa how much you enjoyed your birthday tea and the presents we have given you, you must pretend that I haven’t been here and tell me just the same as you tell him. Alright?”

“Yes Mamma!” Sarah says dourly.

“Alright Mamma.” Piers promises seriously.

“Good!” Lady Southgate sighs, rising awkwardly to her feet, brushing out the crumples in her French blue serge fitted skirt front.

“Now children,” Nanny Tessa says matter-of-factly. “Give me your coats and hats and then you may take your places at the table.”

The children gladly obey, relinquishing their outer clothes to Nanny and hurrying to the table where their mother is already seated. Sarah takes the seat of honour between her mother and her brother, whilst Piers sits with Nanny Tessa seated to his left.

“Cook has been busy,” Lady Southgate exclaims. “Just look at those pretty floral cupcakes!”

“And a strawberry Victoria Sponge, Sarah,” Nanny Tessa says as she joins them. “Your favourite! What a lucky girl you are.” She smiles beatifically.

Sarah blushes and falls silent as she takes in the beautiful cupcakes, each topped with cream icing, sugar sprinkles and a marzipan flower, and the splendid pink iced birthday cake dusted with icing sugar and decorated with whipped cream and fresh strawberries.

“Will you be mother*, Nanny Tessa?” Lady Southgate asks. “And I’ll hand out the cupcakes.”

“Of course, Lady Southgate,” Nanny Tessa replies obsequiously. She takes up her teapot and pours tea for her mistress first, and herself. “And what would you like to drink, Sarah?”

“May I have orange juice, please Nanny?” she asks politely.

“You may, Sarah.” Nanny gifts her charge with a beaming smile as she fills her glass with orange liquid from the jug.

“What lovely manners you have, Sarah.” Lady Southgate acknowledges, also smiling at her dark haired daughter.

“May I have milk please Nanny?” Piers pipes up.

“You may Piers,” the older woman replies. “But not before I ask you.”

Rebuked, Piers sinks a little lower in his seat.

“Now,” Nanny Tessa turns to Piers. “What would you like to drink, Piers?”

“May I have milk please, Nanny?”

“You may young man, because now you have been asked.” She fills his glass with creamy white milk bought fresh from the milk float in the square outside Wickham Place by Agnes just this morning. “It is always polite to wait until you are asked, before you share what you would like to eat or drink.”

“Yes, Nanny Tessa.” Piers answers.

“Well Sarah,” Lady Southgate asks. “Aren’t you going to open your gift?”

“Oh yes!” Sarah says excitedly, having quite forgotten that she was holding her gift tightly to her chest.

She carefully pulls at the wrapping, but even her gentle tugs cannot stop the paper from being torn, and once it starts, she quickly forgets about being delicate and ladylike. Both Lady Southgate and Nanny Tessa chuckle and exchange indulging glances with one another as the little girl loses all self-consciousness and enjoys the playful child-like moment of abandoned delight at unwrapping her gifts. Within the pink paper she finds a copy of ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’ by L. Frank Baum, and ‘The Wonderful Game of Oz’ boxed boardgame. She squeals with delight, carefully places both presents on the table where Piers can see them too and throws her arms around her mother’s neck.

“Oh thank you Mamma!” she gasps, showering her with kisses.

“And your Pappa,” Nanny Tessa adds.

“You’re welcome, darling!” Lady Southgate replies. “You can thank both of us properly when you come down to the drawing room this evening.”

“Yes, Mamma.”

“I take it you like your presents then, Sarah?”

“Oh yes Mamma! They are wonderful!”

“We can start reading the first chapter at bedtime tonight, Milady.” Nanny Tessa says.

“And perhaps we might all play the board game after tea?” Piers asks hopefully.

“Oh, what a good idea, Piers!” Sarah says. “May we Mamma? May we Nanny Tessa?”

“I don’t see why not.” Nanny Tessa says.

“I can only stay for a little while though, children,” Lady Southgate adds. “I must go soon and change. Your Pappa will be home before we know it, and I must be there to greet him.” The children both look downcast. “Now! Now! No glum faces. It’s Sarah’s birthday! Let’s eat these cupcakes, and then we will sing happy birthday to Sarah and have a slice of birthday cake before we play the game.”

The children and their Nanny all smile and everyone at the table takes up their dainty floral cupcake and starts eating it.

*The meaning of the very British term “shall I be mother” is “shall I pour the tea?”

You might be surprised to learn that this rather delicious birthday nursery tea is not exactly what it seems. It is in fact made up of 1:12 size artisan miniatures from my large collection, including a couple of items that I have had since my childhood.

I wanted to create this tableau to celebrate the birthday of one of my favourite children’s books, ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’ by L. Frank Baum, which was first published on the 17th of May 1900 by George M. Hill Company, New York. I was read it as a child, and then read it, and all the thirteen subsequent L. Frank Baum Oz books when I was twelve. I still have the books to this day, and whilst they fell out of favour and were very hard to get hold of for many years, I am pleased to say that all the Baum Oz books have now been re-published in individual and omnibus form, which has enabled me to introduce the delight of Oz and all the wonderful people and creatures who inhabit the magical land surrounded by a deadly desert to my godchildren.

Fun things to look for in this tableau include:

The edition of ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’ on the table features the original American edition cover with the Cowardly Lion wearing the green spectacles everyone entering the Emerald City had to wear. An artisan miniature made by Little Things of Interest in Ohio, this book can be opened and features readable text in an abridged version of the story, and also copies of the original W.W. Denslow illustrations. Based on whimsical stories he told his children, Lyman Frank Baum’s book is known as the first American faerie tale. Following the adventures of Kansas girl Dorothy Gale and her friends the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion across the Land of Oz, ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’ was just the first of fourteen Oz books written by L. Frank Baum. Originally published somewhat reluctantly, the book is now one of the best-known stories in American literature and has been widely translated into any number of languages. It led not only to further books but to successful Broadway shows, silent films and of course the MGM movie musical, ‘The Wizard of Oz’.

‘The Wonderful Game of Oz’ on the table is a 1:12 artisan miniature made by Little Things Dollhouse Miniatures in Lancashire. ‘The Wonderful Game of Oz’ was just one of the many pieces of promotional merchandise that was produced after the great success of the Oz books. Based on the L. Frank Baum book and characters, the game board and pieces are based on the John. R. Neil book illustrations. John. R. Neil illustrated all the Oz books except ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’ which was illustrated by W. W. Denslow. In the game, you make your way through Oz, from Munchkinland to the Emarald City. Published by Parker Brothers in Salem Massachusetts in 1921, I hope you will forgive me for putting it in this story, which is set around 1910, and will indulge me as I celebrate everything Oz in this tableau.

The divine little cupcakes, each with a flower on the top, has been made in England by hand from clay by former chef turned miniature artisan, Frances Knight. Her work is incredibly detailed and realistic, and she says that she draws her inspiration from her years as a chef and her imagination. Each cupcake is only five millimetres in diameter and eight millimetres in height! The strawberry birthday cake has also been made from polymer clay and is very realistic and was made by Karen Ladybug miniatures in England.

Nanny Tessa’s floral teapot I acquired from a specialist high street tea shop when I was a teenager. I have five of them and each one is a different shape and has a different design. I love them, and what I also love is that over time they have developed their own crazing in the glaze, which I think adds a nice touch of authenticity.

The jug and glass of orange juice, the jug and glass of milk and the glass vase of flowers all came from Beautifully Handmade Miniatures in Kettering. All the pieces are made from very fine glass and are hand blown, so each one is unique.

The porcelain tea set, which has two matching cups and saucers, a milk jug and sugar bowl, were part of a job lot of over one hundred pieces of 1:12 chinaware I bought from a seller on E-Bay. The pieces are remarkably dainty and the patterns on them are so pretty. The floral plates are part of a larger dinner set I acquired through a miniature stockist on E-Bay.

The tablecloth has been crocheted by hand and is actually a small doily that I picked up in an antique market. I imagine it is around one hundred years old. When I bought it, it was badly stained, but some bleach and lemon juice quickly righted this and brought it back to its original gleaming white. I loved it for its delicate weave.

The table itself is a Jacobean style round drop leaf table of dark stained oak which I have had since I was seven. The dainty little chairs are carved from fruitwood and were part of a lot I bought at auction many years ago.

In the background you can catch glimpses of the Wickham Place nursery which is papered with William Morris’ ‘Willow Bough’ pattern. In Nanny’s chair by the fire sits a big teddy bear, which is one of just a number of small 1:12 size teddy bears that I have in my collection. The ewer set in blue and white Delftware I also acquired from a specialist high street miniatures shop when I was a teenager.

I agree with this campaign. Read on and see if you agree too....

Thank you for playing the ghost Cykes! ^^

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

`I am the Ghost of Christmas Present,' said the Spirit. `Look upon me.'

Miss Scrooge reverently did so. It was clothed in one simple green robe, or mantle, bordered with fur. This garment hung so loosely on the figure, that its capacious breast was bare, as if disdaining to be warded or concealed by any artifice. Its feet, observable beneath the ample folds of the garment, were also bare; and on its head it wore no other covering than a holly wreath.

`You have never seen the like of me before.' exclaimed the Spirit.

`Never,' miss Scrooge made answer to it.

`Have never walked forth with the younger members of my family; meaning (for I am very young) my elder brothers born in these later years.' pursued the Phantom.

`I don't think I have,' said miss Scrooge. `I am afraid I have not. Have you had many brothers, Spirit?'

`More than eighteen hundred,' said the Ghost.

`A tremendous family to provide for.' muttered miss Scrooge.

The Ghost of Christmas Present rose.

`Spirit,' said miss Scrooge submissively,' conduct me where you will. I went forth last night on compulsion, and I learnt a lesson which is working now. Tonight, if you have aught to teach me, let me profit by it.'

`Touch my robe.'

Miss Scrooge did as she was told, and held it fast.

There they went through the town and the park. They seemed to be going in the direction of where, to quote miss Scrooge, the 'surplus population' lived.

Invisible, as they had been before. It was a remarkable quality of the Ghost that notwithstanding his large size, he could accommodate himself to any place with ease; and that he stood beneath a low roof quite as gracefully and like a supernatural creature, as it was possible he could have done in any lofty hall.

And perhaps it was the pleasure the good Spirit had in showing off this power of his, or else it was his own kind, generous, hearty nature, and his sympathy with all poor men, that led him straight to miss Scrooge's clerk's; for there he went, and took miss Scrooge with him, holding to his robe; and on the threshold of the door the Spirit smiled, and stopped to bless Bob Cratchit's dwelling. Think of that. Bob had but fifteen bob a-week himself; he pocketed on Saturdays but fifteen copies of his Christian name; and yet the Ghost of Christmas Present blessed his four-roomed house.

Then up rose Mrs Cratchit, Cratchit's wife, dressed out but poorly in a twice-turned gown, but brave in ribbons, which are cheap and make a goodly show for sixpence; and she laid the cloth, assisted by Belinda Cratchit, second of her daughters, also brave in ribbons; while Master Peter Cratchit plunged a fork into the saucepan of potatoes, and getting the corners of his monstrous shirt collar (Bob's private property, conferred upon his son and heir in honour of the day) into his mouth, rejoiced to find himself so gallantly attired, and yearned to show his linen in the fashionable Parks. And now two smaller Cratchits, boy and girl, came tearing in, screaming that outside the baker's they had smelt the goose, and known it for their own; and basking in luxurious thoughts of sage and onion, these young Cratchits danced about the table, and exalted Master Peter Cratchit to the skies, while he (not proud, although his collars nearly choked him) blew the fire, until the slow potatoes bubbling up, knocked loudly at the saucepan-lid to be let out and peeled.

'And how did little Tim behave?' asked Mrs Cratchit.

`As good as gold,' said Bob,' and better. Somehow he gets thoughtful, sitting by himself so much, and thinks the strangest things you ever heard. He told me, coming home, that he hoped the people saw him in the church, because he was a cripple, and it might be pleasant to them to remember upon Christmas Day, who made lame beggars walk, and blind men see.'

Bob's voice was tremulous when he told them this, and trembled more when he said that Tiny Tim was growing strong and hearty.

His active little crutch was heard upon the floor, and back came Tiny Tim before another word was spoken, escorted by his brother and sister to his stool before the fire; and while Bob, turning up his cuffs -- as if, poor fellow, they were capable of being made more shabby -- compounded some hot mixture in a jug with gin and lemons, and stirred it round and round and put it on the hob to simmer; Master Peter, and the two ubiquitous young Cratchits went to fetch the goose, with which they soon returned in high procession.

Bob Cratchit proposed: `A Merry Christmas to us all, my dears. God bless us.'

Which all the family re-echoed.

`God bless us every one.' said Tiny Tim, the last of all.

He sat very close to his father's side upon his little stool. Bob held his withered little hand in his, because he loved the child very much, and wished to keep him by his side, and dreaded that he might be taken from him.

`Spirit,' said miss Scrooge, with an interest she had never felt before, `tell me if Tiny Tim will live.'

`I see a vacant seat,' replied the Ghost, `in the poor chimney-corner, and a crutch without an owner, carefully preserved. If these shadows remain unaltered by the Future, the child will die.'

`No, no,' said miss Scrooge. `Oh, no, kind Spirit. say he will be spared.'

`If these shadows remain unaltered by the Future, none other of my race,' returned the Ghost, `will find him here. What then. If he be like to die, he had better do it, and decrease the surplus population.'

Miss Scrooge hung her head to hear her own words quoted by the Spirit, and was overcome with penitence and grief. `Woman,' said the Ghost, `forbear that wicked cant until you have discovered what the surplus is, and where it is. Will you decide who shall live, who shall die? It may be, that in the sight of Heaven, you are more worthless and less fit to live than millions like this poor man's child. Oh God. to hear the Insect on the leaf pronouncing on the too much life among his hungry brothers in the dust.'

Miss Scrooge bent before the Ghost's rebuke, and trembling cast her eyes upon the ground. But she raised them speedily, on hearing her own name.

`Miss Scrooge.' said Bob; `I'll give you miss Scrooge, the founder of the Feast.'

`The Founder of the Feast indeed.' cried Mrs Cratchit, reddening. `I wish I had her here. I'd give her a piece of my mind to feast upon, and I hope she'd have a good appetite for it.'

`My dear,' said Bob, `the children. Christmas Day.'

`It should be Christmas Day, I am sure,' said she, `on which one drinks the health of such an odious, stingy, hard, unfeeling woman as Miss Scrooge. You know she is, Robert. Nobody knows it better than you do, poor fellow.'

`My dear,' was Bob's mild answer, `Christmas Day.'

`I'll drink her health for your sake and the Day's,' said Mrs Cratchit, `not for hers. Long life to her. A merry Christmas and a happy new year. She'll be very merry and very happy, I have no doubt.'

The children drank the toast after her. It was the first of their proceedings which had no heartiness. Tiny Tim drank it last of all, but he didn't care twopence for it. Miss Scrooge was the Ogre of the family. The mention of her name cast a dark shadow on the party, which was not dispelled for full five minutes.

Today we are in the very modern and up-to-date 1920s kitchen of Lettice’s flat: usually Edith her maid’s preserve. However, this afternoon it has been invaded since four o’clock by several of the catering staff of the nearby Harrods department store. Two of Lettice’s Embassy Club coterie of bright young things are getting married: Dickie Channon, eldest surviving son of the Marquess of Taunton, and Margot de Virre, only daughter of Lord Charles and Lady Lucie de Virre. Lettice is hosting an exclusive buffet supper party in their honour this evening, which is turning out to be one of the events of the 1921 London Season. Over the last few days the flat has been in upheaval as Edith and Lettice’s charwoman* Mrs. Boothby have been cleaning the flat thoroughly in preparation for the occasion. Earlier today with the help of a few hired men they moved some of the furnishings in Lettice’s drawing room into the spare bedroom to make space for the hired band and for the guests to dance and mingle. Lettice has fled her flat for the day to avoid all the upheaval and keep out of the way of her servants and hired staff. Harrods delivered the alcohol this morning, the florist delivered some amazing floral arrangements at midday and now the caterers from Harrods are filling Edith’s preserve with a cacophony of chatter and the clatter of food preparation.

Edith stands in a corner of her kitchen, dressed in her afternoon uniform of black silk moiré with her special lace collar, cuffs, lace trimmed apron and pleated headpiece kept for formal occasions. She carefully observes the three caterers wearing white aprons to protect their green Harrods uniforms as they busily work on different tasks around Edith’s central deal kitchen table. One artfully lays out a range of Macfarlane Lang Homestead cracker biscuits on one of the silver trays that Lettice has borrowed from her parents’ estate. The caterer carefully leaves space for several fluted glass bowls in which he has already scooped and garnished some brightly coloured salmon dip and French onion dip which he made upon arrival at Lettice’s flat. The second skilfully assembles vol-au-vents filled with spiced mushroom pâte and savoury petit fours of egg and lettuce, ham and tomato, lettuce tomato and cucumber and cured meats onto another of Lettice’s family silver trays. A second, smaller tray has a bowl of caviar and several petit fours topped with caviar and wedges of lemon ready to be served. The third caterer is busily assembling a tray of thin triangular sandwiches filled with egg mayonnaise, cucumber and lettuce, tomato and cheese, ham and tomato and ham and cucumber fillings. Their fingers dance across their work as they laugh and chatter lightly with one another, however their conversation does not extend to Edith whom they seem quite happy to ignore.

“My goodness,” Edith remarks at length. “How swiftly you work, gentlemen.”

“Time is of the essence.” one of the men deigns to reply. “There is no time to waste.”

“Oh,” Edith replies quietly retreating a little further from the table, feeling somewhat rebuked for interrupting the men.

“What time do your mistress’ guests arrive, girl?” snaps the head caterer as he completes another perfect petit four of egg and lettuce.

“Ahh,” Edith stammers nervously. “The invitation is for eight, err… I think.”

“Think? You think?” he splutters incredulously. “You aren’t here to think, girl! I asked you a question. Now answer it!”

“Sorry, sir,” Edith mumbles. “Yes, yes, eight o’clock, sir.”

“What was that girl?” he barks distractedly as he reaches for an empty vol-au-vent case. “Stop muttering would you!”

“Yes sir,” Edith replies, trying to add confidence to her voice as she raises her voice. “Eight o’clock sir.”

“And how many guests?” he demands in reply.

“About one hundred and twenty.” Edith responds.

“About? About?” The head caterer’s eyes widen and his face reddens like a beetroot as he retorts, “Catering is a precise business, girl! Even a stupid lump like you should know that! I didn’t ask for abouts, I want to know how many guests are coming, and I want an answer!”

Mustering all her courage and resolve Edith counters, “And I’ve answered it as best as I can for you, sir. I’m afraid that I’m not privy to my mistress’ exact number of guests. When I asked her, she told me around one hundred and twenty guests.”

“Useless, useless girl!” the head caterer carps as he returns to his task. “Very good gentlemen,” he continues more kindly as he addresses his companions whilst glancing up at the kitchen clock hanging on the wall. “We’re doing splendidly for time.”

“Did you ever doubt it, Walter?” the caterer filling sandwiches replies.

“Never!” Walter, the head caterer answers back, smiling proudly. “We are a well-oiled machine.” His smile vanishes as his gaze falls upon Edith and his lips purse in disapproval.

The youngest caterer, the one creating the sandwiches, looks over to his left and gives Edith a momentarily smile, which she returns, feeling a little relief that at least one of the three Harrods staff was a little kinder than the others.

Emboldened by his engagement with her, she addresses the youngest man. “Can I help in any way,” she asks timidly with a small smile.

“The best thing you can do,” Walter snaps, looking up and glaring at Edith. “Is to keep out of our way, you stupid girl, and speak only when spoken to!”

Edith feels tears of embarrassment and shame start to sting her eyes as she lowers her head. She reaches into the pocket of her dress and withdraws a small white handkerchief and discreetly dabs at her eyes.

“It’s alright Miss,” the younger man says kindly in reply to Edith’s offer. “It’s good of you to offer, but we all know what our allocated tasks are. We can manage fine.”

“I could do with a spot of refreshment to keep my gears greased,” remarks the caterer setting out the biscuits. Looking up from his work, he spies Edith standing quietly by the stove, her hands folded meekly before her. “You there girl!” he addresses her loftily, as if seeing her for the first time. “Do something useful girl and put on the kettle and make Mr. Rowntree,” He looks at Walter. “Mr. Brown,” He looks at the youngest caterer. “And myself a pot of tea! Now girl!”

“Yes sir,” Edith replies and catches herself just in time to stop herself from curtseying to the haughty caterer.

The young girl picks up the brightly polished kettle and walks across the room and over to the sink where she fills it. Walking back, she heaves the heavy vessel onto the shelf beside the stovetop and reaches out to move one of the large copper pots of consommé boiling on the stovetop to one of the rear burners.

“Stop!” Walter cries out, almost causing Edith to spill the boiling contents of the pot on herself as she jumps anxiously. “Don’t touch that!”

“But sir,” she answers. “The kettle is too heavy for me to lift over the pot. I shall burn myself if I try.”

“You can’t just go moving that consommé to another burner, you stupid, stupid girl!” blusters Walter angrily. “That is sitting at perfect simmering temperature. Burn yourself for all I care, but you are not to move that pot! Who the bloody hell do you think you are?”

“And ooh the bloody ‘ell do you fink you are?” comes a cockney voice from the diagonally opposite corner of the kitchen.

All eyes turn in surprise to the door leading from the service stairs into the kitchen, where Mrs. Boothby, Lettice’s charwoman*, stands. Arrayed in a long blue coat, she has a fox fur stole draped about her shoulders whilst on her head sits a pre-war toque of navy blue. Her rangy figure bristles with anger as her beaded blue bag and her umbrella in her hands and the single peacock feather aigrette sticking out of her toque tremble with the anger radiating from her. Raising her chin, she draws herself up to her full height as she glares with eyes aflame at the head caterer from Harrods.

“Who?” Walter splutters, as much startled as the others by the woman’s sudden appearance in the doorway.

“Nah! Nah!” Mrs. Boothby replies, shaking her head at him as she steps purposefully across the room. “I asked you a question,” She pokes the man sharply in the chest with a bony right index finger. “And I believe that a gentleman answers a lady’s question. Nah! I’ll ask you again, since it seems to me that youse maybe ‘ard of ‘earing. Oooh the bloody ‘ell are you, to be bullying this ‘ere young girl?” She pokes him again for good measure.

“I’m Walter Rountree, head cater of Harrod’s catering department.” he replies pompously, pulling himself up to his full height, looking down his nose imperiously at Mrs. Boothby. “Who are you, old woman, to come barging in here like this?”

The youngest caterer utters a snorting laugh which he quickly extinguishes as the Cockney woman’s beady eyes momentarily snap from Water’s face and glare at him.

“I,” Mrs. Boothby sneers with a set, square jaw. “Am Mrs. Boothby, ‘ousekeeper for the ‘Onourable Miss Lettice Chetwynd, Mr. Walter Rowntree of ‘Arrods catering!” She pokes him sharply again, and this time Water backs away slightly. “And I am responsible for this ‘ere girl’s well bein’. And,” she adds forcefully. “I don’t like the way you’re addressin’ ‘er!”

“I don’t think I rightly care, Mrs. Boothby.” he blusters in reply. “I know now who to blame for this girl’s inability to answer the simplest of questions.”

A tense silence falls across the room, with the other two caterers standing mid activity, poised with knife or spoon in hand and poor Edith cowering by the stove, all watching the stand off between the haughty head caterer and the old cockney woman. Only the ticking of the clock on the wall and the distant rumble of traffic through the ajar kitchen window breaks the silence.

“Well, Mr. Walter Rowntree of ‘Arrods catering,” Mrs. Boothby continues undaunted. “I think you will when Mr. Cowling, the ‘ead of catering learns ‘ow you bullied a young and defenceless girl, what I left ‘ere to oversee your work whilst I was out on business.” She pauses and then adds. “It is Mr. Cowling what sent you ‘ere, wan it?”

The other two caters gasp at the mention of their superior’s name, giving Mrs. Boothby the advantage that she needs to bolster her bravado.

Glancing momentarily at the other two men she proceeds, “And, I don’t think Mr. Cowling would be terribly pleased to ‘ear that the actions of you, Mr.?” She raises a black leather glove clad hand to the caterer arranging the biscuits and dips. “Err, Mr.?”

“Mr. Jones, Ma’am.”

“And you, Mr. err?” the old woman looks sharply at the young man standing over the sandwiches.

“Brown, Ma’am.”

Returning her gaze to Walter, Mrs. Boothby completes her sentence with names. “I don’t think Mr. Cowling would be terribly pleased to ‘ear that the actions of Mr. Jones, Mr. Brown, or you Mr. Walter Rowntree of ‘Arrods catering, were to blame for the sudden wivdrawl of the patronage of the ‘Onourable Miss Lettice Chetwynd, ‘er parents the Viscount and Countess of Wrexham, or the Marquess and Marchioness of Taunton, what’s son and future daughter-in-law tonight’s party is being ‘eld in ‘onour of, from the hestalishment of ‘Arrods Department Store, nah would ‘e?”

No-one responds to her at first.

“Well… no.” Walter finally replies, breaking the stunned silence enveloping the others in the room. “No, he wouldn’t.”

“Well then,” Mrs. Boothby smiles thinly. “I suggest that you apologise to Edith ‘ere right nah, and if youse does it nicely, I might just forget this whole sorry business and not tell my Mistress what disgraceful behaviour I’ve seen ‘ere today. Hhhmmm?”

Walter blanches as she smiles smugly at him before slowly turning back to Edith and the other two men, who still stand goggle eyed and white faced at he and Mrs. Boothby.

He clears his throat awkwardly. “Err… I’m sorry, Miss. I didn’t mean to be so abrupt.”

“Or rude and abnoxious,” Mrs. Boothby pipes up helpfully.

“Err, yes, or rude or obnoxious. I hope you will forgive me.”

Edith doesn’t reply, too stanned by what has just taken place in her kitchen.

Mrs. Boothby releases a long breath of satisfaction at Walter’s apology, resulting in one of her nasty fruity smokers’ coughs bursting forth, wracking her body.

“Oh Mrs. Boothby, are you alright?” Edith gasps, rushing over to the old woman. “Here, let me get you a glass of water.”

The old Cockney woman bats Edith’s attentions away with a waving hand as she regains her composure. “I’m alright, dearie,” she gasps breathlessly. “Nah, grab that box of champagne bottles what’s sittin’ up there and come wiv me. We best stock the cocktail cabinet before Miss Chetwynd gets ‘ome.”

“Yes Mrs. Boothby!” Edith replies, dropping a curtsey at the imposing woman’s instructions.

Edith picks up the box the Cockney woman indicated to and takes it towards the green baize door that leads into the flat’s dining room, and still dressed in her coat, fur and hat, complete with umbrella and beaded bag on her arm, Mrs. Boothby follows.

Turning back to the three men, Mrs. Boothby addresses the youngest as an afterthought. “’Ere Mr. Brown, put the kettle on would you and make us a cup of Rosie Lee** would you?”

“Yes ma’am.” he replies meekly.

“Ta!” Mrs. Boothby acknowledges before following Edith through the door.

Edith and Mrs. Boothby giggle as they scuttle across the dining room and out of any possible earshot of the three Harrods caterers.

“Oh, Mrs. Boothby,” Edith gasps as she puts the crate of champagne on the empty dining table. “I don’t know how to thank you.”

“Humph!” Mrs. Boothby sniffs, looking back to the door leading to the kitchen. “We may not all ‘ave the vote*** yet, but that don’t mean that little men like ‘im can treat us women like rubbish.”

“But, but how did you know his manager was Mr. Cowling, Mrs. Boothby?” Edith asks.

The old Cockney woman smiles broadly. “Easy! I read ‘is name this mornin’ on the docket on Miss Lettice’s desk when I was tidying.”

Both women chuckle as the start to sort out the bottles in the crate.

*A charwoman, chargirl, or char, jokingly charlady, is an old-fashioned occupational term, referring to a paid part-time worker who comes into a house or other building to clean it for a few hours of a day or week, as opposed to a maid, who usually lives as part of the household within the structure of domestic service. In the 1920s, chars usually did all the hard graft work that paid live-in domestics would no longer do as they looked for excuses to leave domestic service for better paying work in offices and factories.

**Rosie-Lee is Cockney slang for tea, and it is one of the most well-known of all Cockney rhyming slang.

***In 1921 when this story is set, not every woman in Britain had the right to vote. In 1918 the Representation of the People Act was passed which allowed women over the age of thirty who met a property qualification to vote. Although eight and a half million women met this criteria, it was only about two-thirds of the total population of women in Britain. It was not until the Equal Franchise Act of 1928 that women over twenty-one were able to vote and women finally achieved the same voting rights as men. This act increased the number of women eligible to vote to fifteen million.

This busy domestic kitchen scene is a little different to what you might think, for it is made up entirely of 1:12 size dollhouse miniatures from my miniatures collection.

Fun things to look for in this tableau include:

On Edith’s deal table delicious canapés are being prepared for the party. The plate of sandwiches, the silver tray of biscuits and the bowls of dips, most of the savoury petite fours on the silver tray closest to the camera and the two white bowls containing salmon dip and egg mayonnaise were made in England by hand from clay by former chef turned miniature artisan, Frances Knight. Her work is incredibly detailed and realistic, and she says that she draws her inspiration from her years as a chef and her imagination. The loaf of bread with the slices hanging off it is made by Polly’s Pantry Miniatures in America. The ripe red tomatoes in the Cornishware bowl are made by hand by Beautifully Handmade Miniatures in Kettering, whilst the sliced pieces of tomato on the chopping board come from The Dollhouse Suppliers in England, who specialise in hand made fruit and vegetables made from Fimo and dried air clay. The bowl of caviar was made by Karen Lady Bug Miniatures in England. The very real looking lettuce lying next to the bread I bought along with a few other vegetables, including the cucumber on the chopping board, from an auction house some years ago. The jars of herbs and lemon slices are also 1:12 miniatures, made of real glass with real cork stoppers in them which I also bought from an auction and have had for many years.

The tin of Macfarlane Lang’s Homestead Biscuits features a 1920s design on its lid. It was purchased from Shepherd’s Miniatures in England. Macfarlane Lang and Company began as Lang’s bakery in 1817, before becoming MacFarlane Lang in 1841. The first biscuit factory opened in 1886 and changed its name to MacFarlane Lang and Co. in the same year. The business then opened a factory in Fulham, London in 1903, and in 1904 became MacFarlane Lang & Co. Ltd. In 1948 it formed United Biscuits Ltd. along with McVitie and Price.

The tray that the caviar is sitting on and the champagne bucket sitting on the bench in the background are made by Warwick Miniatures in Ireland, who are well known for the quality and detail applied to their pieces.

The Harrod’s crate sitting next to the champagne bucket on the kitchen bench in the background I purchased from an EBay seller in the United Kingdom. It is full of bottles of Deutz and Geldermann and De Rochegré champagne. All are artisan miniatures and made of glass and some have real foil wrapped around their necks. They are made by Little Things Dollhouse Miniatures in Lancashire.

On the first shelf of dresser that can be seen just to the right of shot stands the Deftware kitchen tea set. Each piece features the traditional painting of a windmill.

To the left of the dresser, a spice cabinet with six marked drawers hangs from the wall. I have had that piece since I was around eight years old. Also hanging on the wall are three copper frypans with black metal handles which, along with the copper pots and kettle on the stove came from a specialist dollhouse supplier.

Edith’s Windsor chair, just visible beyond the heavily covered table, is a hand-turned 1:12 artisan miniature which came from America. Unfortunately, the artist did not carve their name under the seat, but it is definitely an unmarked artisan piece.

In the background you can see a very modern and up-to-date 1920s gas stove. It would have been expensive to instal at the time, and it would have been the cook’s or maid’s pleasure to cook on and in. It would have included a thermostat for perfect cooking and without the need of coal, it was much cleaner to feed, use and easier to clean. It is not unlike those made by the Roper Stove Company in the 1920s. The Roper Stove Company previously named the Florence-Wehrle Company among other names, was founded in 1883. Located in Newark, Ohio, the company was once the largest stove producer in the world. Today, the Roper Stove Company is a brand of Whirlpool.

It rained throughout the night for most of Anzac eve in Launceston. And yet a record crowd of over 5000 people packed into the parkland around the Cenotaph to pay their deepest respects to those men and women of Australia and New Zealand who paid the ultimate sacrifice in war.

The Dawn service each Anzac Day is a solemn occasion that not too many years ago people thought would slowly die out. The veterans of the First World War disappeared from the earth some time ago, and now there are only a few elderly and frail veterans from the Second World War. Even the Vietnam veterans' ranks are thinning now (though they are proudly represented by their motorcycle club). No, people would soon forget, they said.

But how wrong these prognostications were! It seems every year numbers at the Dawn service continue to grow around our country, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren proudly wear the medals their long departed loved ones earned in conflict.

This morning, when I took these photographs I witnessed scenes that bring a tear to the eye. Young scout troops stood to attention throughout the proceedings. Two highly skilled young speakers from a local high school presented their thoughts on the day in a way that (quite frankly) puts to shame the attitudes of many older and more cynical Australians.

The American sociologist, Robert Bellah (1927-2013) believed that the commonwealth of a nation lay in its ability to harness civil religion. These are the ties that bind us, shared values and rituals that cannot be broken and are passed down from generation to generation.

This is what makes nations strong today. Not the false saber-rattling fueled by the Military Industrial Complex. Those "masters of war" that Bob Dylan could barely sing about without cursing them to their graves. There is a special place in Dante's hell reserved for those who make money out the bloodshed and misery of war!

So each Anzac Day we celebrate peace. The peace won at a high price. And our task today (especially led by our young) is to make sure we follow the injunction of the greatest of biblical prophets, Isaiah, when he wrote more than 2800 years ago:

"And (God) shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore." (Isaiah 2:4).

Philippians 4:8

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any

praise, think on these things."

This doesn't mean you bury your heads under the sand and avoid the

truth of the times.

I don't believe real Christians will go all through the Tribulation. Most who are

living luke warm chrisianity will surely be left behind to face the horrors.

Although we differ in idea with this poster

regarding the understanding of the RAPTURE event, it has nothing to do with

the gospel and core idea of salvation through Christ. However, I think this man is right

regarding the coming great persecutions of Christians through the Blasphemy law

in favour of the one world / interfaith religion.

*ISRAEL SET TO ACCEPT THE PEACE DEAL

I'm close to believing this is the prophetic Daniel 9 fulfilment-

If this is it, then we are rolling towardsTribulation time line soon so close.

Have you noticed many changes around us, the weather, many dead

animals. many high intensity earthquakes happening more often, rivers/seas

turn blood red. How much more signs needed for people to wake up

and return to God, seek Him even closer .

These are all spoken in the Bible . The Peace agreement coincides with

utter precision to this time line - how can anyone discredit the Bible

prophecies ? Salvation is only through Jesus of Nazareth and no other

Prophetic times we are in ....

A child said What is the grass? fetching it to me with full hands;

How could I answer the child? I do not know what it is any more than he.

I guess it must be the flag of my disposition, out of hopeful green stuff woven.

Or I guess it is the handkerchief of the Lord,

A scented gift and remembrancer designedly drop,

Bearing the owner’s name someway in the corners, that we may see and remark … Walt Whitman now, today is my favorite poet, and it is not just because his English was perfect or his vocabulary or play on words… No, I believe there are many talented poets & writers… I love him because he is an inspiration… Different for his time, and not ashamed… Leaves of Grass got rebuked, and he didn’t back down… He edited all his life… Even surviving stroke… Reading his poetry for the first time 23 years ago, honestly, it didn't speak to me. It didn't even whisper.

What has changed…?!!!!!! Life. Basically, life as we get older is like my body weight. Something that came so naturally to me at 16 now I have to work my a… for… but on a more serious note, sometimes I wonder… Twenty-three years ago, in my poetry class (I don't exactly remember the exact purpose of this), we had an assignment where, with your partner, you wrote things to each other related to a particular poem… Then again, I don't remember everything… he wrote… some artists fool themselves by thinking they are good… yesterday one of my ex-coworkers said to me that in life, sometimes we don't have a choice… my friend, on the other hand, says a person can do anything & everything if they put their mind to it… my mom always says if something doesn't go right in my life, it's because I didn't work hard enough… My question to the universe is… how much in our lives do we actually control… I’m in love with this photo (and Walt Whitman)… Three days ago, I went on Twitter and saw someone’s post about Leaves of Grass; today, I saw this car with the door covered in hearts. Did I really have control over those events, or were they lucky coincidences… or was it work too…!??!! I had to go on Twitter, make certain appointments, get on the train, and go to my destination. And today in the film, someone said: “Fate can only be fate if we decide that we want it to be.” With all the ifs aside, I prefer to live my life the Walt Whitman way… Take chances and hope for the best, even if my choices don't make any sense to anyone else but me. I love what I love or who I love, and I will never explain why to the world. My feelings are like this green car and Walt Whitman's poetry. They were created & exist now just the way they are!

THIS IS THE LONGEST DESCRIPTION OF LIFE. But there’s a reason it’s long. An important one.

You know, have you ever trusted someone and have them screw you over so badly that you just wanted to punch them in the face? Then when you muster everything inside of you to forgive them they screw up again. But for some reason you don’t give up on them. You can’t because you see something in them, something with promise. God does the same, does he not?

This may be gruesome but it’s time someone was honest.

Try to take yourself to this place. In the body of a man, an honest, innocent man being persecuted for something you didn’t do. Not only that but you sit in the garden praying to your father simply wondering how and why and wishing you didn’t have to take all this onto your own shoulders. But you know you have to. You feel the guilt of a murders, the sick amusement of a rapist, the simple dirtiness of a liar. You feel every single lie, cheat, mistake and breaking pain all through out your body. It’s like when you do something wrong and you feel sick, sore, disgusted, angry…every emotion. The same feeling but with the emotions of billions of people all set upon your own heart. So much pressuring on top of you that you are not only sweating but sweating blood.

Then you’re arrested.

Now put yourself in the place of a man chained, unable to break free. Imagine the sound of whips slicing through the air. The same air that is whispering a parody of the unjust pain you are about to feel. The whip embraces your skin but not softly, or romantically. It does not truly ‘embrace’ but gashes your flesh. Your back arks as your entire body wants to escape. Again, and again you are hit. The motion making your hands cramp with tension as they grasp for anything, anything. The heat of blood warms your skin yet quickly the pain pulsating so deeply in your core seems to tune out the warmth with a blindingly painful numbness.

Over. And over. You gasp, trying to inhale. You gasp, trying to exhale. You’re empty in your fullness of rejection that you felt from your very own father. You beg to feel him. Beg to see him. Beg to hear him. But he has turned his eyes away from you, ashamed and disgusted by the sin covering your wounded and bleeding body. He does not know you anymore and it feels nobody else does either by the mask of dirt and blood that covers you completely.

The beating stops only for a second. Then you hear the dreaded sound of the whip breaking through the air, you wait for the blow but this time you feel glass shards clutching onto the little fragment of skin that’s left and tearing. Pulling. Breaking. You cry out in agonizing pain. But not loudly. Never loudly. Over and over. Again and again. These disgusting creatures are slowly killing you yet all you can feel for them is love because the strings of hate and strings of detest that are tied to your heart are too busy being played by all the sinners dancing through your veins. Not dancing. Stomping. Kicking.

You want to leave don’t you? You want to escape out of this nightmare and this body yet you cannot. Instead you are pulled around like a doll with your skin screaming and your nerves on a constant climax of stinging pain. They laugh. They smirk. They spit in your face. They shove a crown of thorns onto your head and you feel the thorns pierce through your skin. Deeper and deeper still. Bloods pours over your eyes but it’s still not over. You are forced to carry a wooden cross with a body that’s already stolen of all strength. Yet you don’t give in or fall, you stand. You stand and you carry it with the weight making your spine feel like it’s not even intact. Like it’s not even there. The rough texture burning against your open wounds. A scream resting in the deepness of your throat. The heaviness of the world’s mistakes making a home in your lungs. You fall. They taunt. You stand, they spit. Even with a man helping you carry the cross your strength falters.

Now, now you lay against the wood. They hold a long nail in their hands. The point breaks the skin on your palm and you inhale sharply as the nail pierces through. The pain. It is unbearable. Then the other hand. The positioning of the force the nails creates causes your shoulder blades to shift into places where they should not be.

Once your feet have been nailed you are to hang there. In front of many. A supposed ‘criminal’. All of this for an innocent man who did nothing, who did not belong on that cross. Barely recognizable with the blood and dirt and spit masking you. The sin of the world masking you.

Then you say something, something unexplainable. You turn your head to your Father and say “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” Luke 23:34. You have been beaten, you have been judged, you have been humiliated, you have been tortured and you have been crucified yet you ask for the forgiveness of the people that have wronged you in all of those ways.

Now that you have had an observation as to the pain Jesus went through you need to understand that this was no where near explaining the truth or the pain. Yet tell me, after reading that…would you be willing to take the place of that man?

“When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; even though you make many prayers I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood. Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, rebuke the oppressor, defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.” Isaiah 1:15-17

Because of the stripes Jesus took on his back, because of the pain and torture he suffered we can come with our backs clean. With our hearts cleaned. With our souls saved and forgiven.

Sometimes we sugar coat that. It’s time we tried to understand it for what it really is.

The portrait accompanied an article titled "A Friendly Suggestion about Art Schools" by David Edstrom. Chat GPT gave the following summary and analysis of this piece:

David Edstrom, writing as both an artist and cultural observer, offers a forceful endorsement of the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles, particularly under the leadership of its director, Channel Pickering Townsley. He opens with a philosophical reflection on the choice between authenticity and superficiality in both personal and cultural life. Edstrom argues that the highest form of beauty is not surface-level, but the kind that builds communities and societies.

He praises the Otis Institute for being grounded in sound and progressive principles, calling it one of the finest institutions of its kind. However, he warns that bureaucratic inefficiency and amateur interference threaten its success. He criticizes delays in basic operations—such as taking a week to approve a minor carpentry job—as examples of mismanagement.

Edstrom calls for the school to become a self-governing entity with full authority granted to the director, warning that otherwise the “brain voltage of a great man” (Townsley) and the time and energy of faculty and students will be squandered. He closes with a sharp rebuke of institutional meddling by unqualified outsiders ("dilettantes") and a plea for autonomy and professional respect.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Townsley resigned from his post as managing director of the Otis Art Institute in about June 1921. This piece may explain his reasons for resigning.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

About the author:

David Edstrom (1873–1938), also known as Peter David Edstrom or Pehr David Emanuel Edström, was a Swedish-American sculptor renowned for his expressive portrait busts and symbolic works.

Born in Vetlanda, Sweden, Edstrom immigrated to the United States with his family in 1880, settling in Ottumwa, Iowa. There, he developed an early interest in sculpture, studying under Johannes Scheiwe. In 1894, he returned to Sweden to pursue formal art education at the Royal Institute of Technology and the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts in Stockholm .

In 1900, Edstrom moved to Florence, Italy, attending the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze. During this period, he created notable sculptures such as Caliban (1900), Sphinx (1900), Lucifer (1902), The Cry of Poverty (1903), Despair (1904), and Pride (1904) . He also spent time in Paris, becoming part of Gertrude Stein's artistic circle and sculpting portraits of figures like Harriet Lane Levy.

Edstrom returned to the U.S. in 1915, settling in Los Angeles around 1920. He became one of the organizers of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and was active in the local art scene. One of his significant American works includes the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Ottumwa, Iowa, featuring four reliefs on a shaft topped with a large eagle . In 1937, he created a statue of Florence Nightingale, titled Lady of the Lamp, for the Works Progress Administration's Federal Artists Program.

Edstrom's autobiography, The Testament of Caliban (1937), offers insight into his life and artistic philosophy. Despite early acclaim, his later years were marked by relative obscurity, and he passed away in Los Angeles in 1938. Today, his contributions are recognized within Swedish-American cultural history, though he remains a lesser-known figure in the broader art historical canon .

The same lessons that led to the development of the M-72AB Zastava Zmey were applied to some of the JNA's other armored vehicles. That is to say, the omnipresence of incredibly mature anti-tank munitions and countermeasures left many of Yugoslavia's vehicles exposed to lethal threats during the Second Eastern European War. Indeed, despite what many contemporaneous public reports stated, this rebuke of Yugoslavia's armored forces was felt most heavily among those that rode and served in the M-81A Ipabogs. Rather than being designed for sustained confined warfare, the Ipabog was meant to ambush and overwhelm. This discrepancy in modus operandi would come to haunt the JNA during the war's peak.

To rectify these concerns, the Ministry of Defense once again turned to Zastava Arms (hence the new designation) to create a suite of applique for the M-81 series. Many of the improvements and additions are simply commonsense items: explosive reactive armor, a dozer blade, hardened underbelly, slat armor, and an active protection system. Although many of these add-ons obviously improve the overall protection of the vehicle writ large, particular emphasis was paid to the troop bay in the rear--if the dismounts can arrive in good health, then they can offer 360-degree protection for their respective vehicles. Whether or not this idea translates to reality has yet to be seen. Indeed, it appears that NATO is doing its utmost to see that Belgrade never has a chance to use its new toys. Still, that hasn't stopped the Balkan nation from stirring up trouble in the past, so the future might be bathed in red as well.

“When they came to the crowd a man approached, knelt down before him, and said, “Lord, have pity on my son, for he is a lunatic and suffers severely; often he falls into fire, and often into water. I brought him to your disciples, but they could not cure him.” Jesus said in reply, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long will I be with you? How long will I endure you? Bring him here to me.” Jesus rebuked him and the demon came out of him, and from that hour the boy was cured. Then the disciples approached Jesus in private and said, “Why could we not drive it out?” He said to them, “Because of your little faith. Amen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” -Matthew 17:14-20

Wickham Place is the London home of Lord and Lady Southgate, their children and staff. Located in fashionable Belgravia it is a fine Georgian terrace house.

Vera, the current Lady Southgate dislikes her mother-in-law because she has the annoying habit of not retiring to a quiet life in the Dower House on the Buckinghamshire estate, preferring instead to spend a great deal of time in London during the Season, using Wickham Place as her base. And why should the Dowager retreat when she was a famed as a beauty not so long ago, and still is very beautiful, intelligent and vibrant? Doors to salons and soirees open to her in preference to her ‘Dollar Princess’ daughter-in-law. The Dowager dislikes her daughter-in-law in equal measure as she is disliked by her. The Dowager despises her American vulgarity, lack of taste and tact and has never forgiven her for stealing away her eldest son, even though the Southgate estate required an eligible American heiress or else sell an old master or two, thanks to the late Lord Southgate’s gambling and poor head for investments and the Dowager’s frivolous spending.

The Dowager, through careful Machiavellian emotional manipulation of her eldest son, has ensured that even though she has been displaced by the ‘Dollar Princess’ as mistress of Wickham Place, she still has a splendid suite on the second floor, always at the ready for her arrival. Tonight, the Dowager is in residence and in her drawing room, where he awaits her son, who must pass her open salon door on his way to the library.

“Richard! Richard, is that you?” the Dowager calls sweetly as she senses someone in the hallway outside her door.

“Mother, you aren’t out this evening?” Richard replies, popping his head through the door, book in hand on his way to the library, just as the Dowager suspected.

“No Richard, not tonight. I couldn’t bear to go to Evelyn’s supper party, especially since I’ve been in London for nearly two weeks and barely seen you.”

“I’ve been here, Mother.”

“I know darling, but I’ve been so frightfully busy catching up with everyone. You know how much I like to be amid the pleasures of the season. You really should have come with me to the Royal Academy. There were some marvellous paintings this year!”

Eying his mother’s table set before the fire Richard remarks, “Backgammon, Mother?”

“Yes darling, I thought you might care to play a game with me since I’m home this evening. I know how much you love backgammon. Remember how we used to play backgammon together when you were young?”

“I seem to recall that you always won.”

“Well,” the Dowager’s eyes narrow. “I did win a few times, but I don’t think I always won, darling.”

“Well, I was just going to the library to return a book and then Vera and I…”

“Oh Vera!” the Dowager scoffs with a wave of her elegantly bejewelled hand. “You can see Vera any day of the week, whereas I am here now.”

“And I see that you’re prepared with a bottle from my cellar.”

“One of you father’s bottles: Romanée Saint Vivant 1885.”

“Well… maybe just one game, Mother.”

The Dowager’s eyes light up as she indicates to the empty Chippendale chair at the Queen Anne table.

“But only if I can smoke, Mother. This is my house now, and I can smoke wherever I like.”

“Of course Richard,” the Dowager smiles at her son’s petulant outburst. “Wickham Place is yours now, and you may do as you please. I’ll ring for Withers and have him bring an ashtray, and some chocolates. I always remember we’d eat chocolates whilst we play.”

With a silver ashtray and a glass bowl of chocolates provided by Withers the Butler, mother and son settle down to play a friendly game of backgammon.

“So,” Richard asks as he opens the bottle of burgundy and pours wine into the Dowager’s glass. “What is it you want, Mother? You may get the better of me more often than I’d care to admit to, but even I, with my dim wits, can see through this subterfuge.”

“Richard!” she gasps. “You wound me!”

“No-one wounds you, Mother, except maybe when they tighten your reticule.”

“How vulgar! I didn’t raise you to talk about money, Richard. I see that my daughter-in-law’s frank conversation skills are rubbing off on you.” Richard glares at her, and she stands rebuked, so with a more gentle voice the Dowager continues, “However, since you mention it, I would like to talk about my pitiful allowance. I can’t manage the Season on such a paltry amount.”

This year the FFF+ Group have decided to have a weekly challenge called “Snap Happy”. A different theme chosen by a member of the group each week, and the image is to be posted on the Monday of the week.

This week the theme, “games” was chosen by David, DaveSPN.

What better game to play than backgammon amid the elegance of the Dowager’s drawing room. However this upper-class domestic scene is different, for it is made up entirely of 1:12 size dollhouse miniatures, some of which come from my own childhood.

Fun things to look for in this tableaux include:

The backgammon set I made myself from a beautifully appointed kit. The buff coloured felt around the outside of the box is so soft.

The Queen Anne lamp table that the game is set on I was given on my seventh birthday, and it is one of my oldest miniatures in the collection.

The two Chippendale chairs are from a larger artisan carved dining room suite that I bought a few years ago from a miniature specialist in America who acquired it from a miniatures museum that was closing. Some of the chairs have stickers on the underside of their seat cushions indicating that they come from the ‘white room’.

The dice are actually a pair of wooden miniature Georgian gambling dice (inherited from my Grandmother, passed down through the generations).

The red and white marbled bowl containing miniature chocolates is actually a 1920s glass bugle bead.

The two glasses and the bottle of burgundy are 1:12 miniature artisan pieces which are made from real glass. The label is a genuine facsimile of its real size equivalent.

The ashtray is also an artisan piece, made of cut clear crystals set in a silver metal frame. The tray has black ash in it, and even came with its own 1:12 cigarette which rests on the lip, just where Richard put it before he started playing backgammon with his cunning Mother.

The book is also an artisan piece with printed words on each page and bound in buff coloured leather.

Story 9.2 The story of an Arab and that he threw sand in his camel bag and the philosopher rebuked him

The pedestrian asked the Arab man: What is the burden of your camel? The Arab man said: One bag is full of wheat and the other bag is full of desert sand.

The pedestrian asked in surprise: Desert sand? Why ?!

The Arab man laughed and said: In one bag, I poured wheat and in another bag, I poured the same amount of gravel. I tied the load of wheat on the right side of the camel and the load of desert sand on the left side of the camel so that their weight is equal and the load of the camel is not tilted.

The man on foot heard this and began to laugh out loud. The Arab man asked in surprise: Why are you laughing? Did I say something funny?

The man on foot said, "Yes, what you have done is funny." You could divide the wheat into two equal parts, loading half of it on the right side and the other half on the left side of the camel.

The Arab man said in surprise: What is interesting, why did not this occur to me?

Unfolding Joyful Creases

Drops crept gently from my eyes.

No comfort did I feel

so God sent me a surprise

to dry my tears and heal.

Cerulean bits of sky

unfolding joyful creases

before my wondering eyes.

Sorrow fell to pieces!

Every leaf a kiss,

a hug shaped like a heart.

Every blossom bliss

dried tears before they start.

No old hankie with its lace

could ever work as fine

as the morning glory's face

bedecking fertile vine!

Isaiah 25:6-8

6 And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. 7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. 8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.

The scientific name of Knot is Calidris canutus named after Canute, the King who reigned England, Denmark and Norway for twenty years until his death in 1035, aged 40. John Ray in 1678 called it "Canuti Avis" (Canute's bird) but the first association was in William Camden's Britannia (1607). Camden thought that the bird might be named after Canute (sometimes spelled Cnut or Knute) and alluded to the story of Canute rebuking his flattering courtiers by demonstrating that he had no power to stop the incoming tide. But Camden was only expressing his opinion that as this bird frequents the tide edge, and the name is similar, it might be connected with Canute. Later authors repeated the idea as if it was fact, and Linnaeus compounded the theory when he formally named it (Tringa) Canutus in 1758. Many sources say that Canute enjoyed eating Knot, and he may indeed have enjoyed eating waders, but as Knot wasn't mentioned until 1452 (400 years after Canute's death) we will never know if he ever ate Knot. But the name is very old (the oldest is a reference to Knottys in 1452) and it is far more likely that the name Knot is imitative of the birds' call, and we know that originally the now silent k was pronounced ("kenot"). Here's the call on Xeno Canto xeno-canto.org/791759 which does sound to me like "kenot". I photographed these roosting birds in Northumberland.

One final thing; at the turn of the Nineteenth Century we had three Knots on the British list. These were Knot, Red Knot and Ash-coloured Sandpiper, which were juvenile, breeding and winter plumaged Knots respectively. It was George Montagu, of Montagu's Harrier fame, who sorted all the confusion and showed that these were all one and the same species. But another species of Knot was added to the British List after a Great Knot (Calidris tenuirostris) appeared in Shetland in 1989.

He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. Mark 4;39

Women should be seen and not heard, originates from an old English proverb, "Children should be seen and not heard."

~ In the original form it was specifically young women who were expected to keep quiet. This opinion is recorded in the 15th century collection of homilies written by an Augustinian clergyman called John Mirk in Mirk’s Festial, circa 1450:

Hyt ys old Englysch sawe: A mayde schuld be seen, but not herd.

~ This proverb stems back to the religious views of medieval culture. The initial meaning of this proverb was that young women should not speak in the presence of adults but later evolved to include all children.

~

My father used this term a lot as part of scolding as a child and later as a rebuke when i hit teens.. He held a very victorian attitude for many many years.

ai/gimp

I remember first coming across an article in a magazine on mono, ultra long exposures by the talented Lee Frost a couple of years or so ago. I studied each of the images shown with admiration, and devoured the text relinquishing the technique and equipment used - here was something unexpectedly innovative, fresh and genuinely exciting! The photographs shown had remarkably fluid characteristics; gaseous and liquid elements took on wild, surreal and hitherto unrealised shapes and forms, whilst the solidity of various anchor points grounded each shot in this world despite outward appearance.

I couldn't wait to try and emulate (yes - we all want to be original, but we all begin by emulation surely?) the work I'd seen, and so embarked on searching out and capturing suitable subjects that might lend themselves well to this type of study. I think it's good to be your own critic, and whilst I now despise some of what I've done, I have perhaps five or six images in this vein that I'm truly happy with - although it frustrates me hugely that I'm not as competent, skilled or accomplished as I would hope to be given time, experience and learning. I don't consider this a bad hit rate, and although it's possible to produce a slew of 'ok' photographs, I like to think that in years to come I might create something that I can be justifiably proud of.

Recently it has occurred to me that this increasingly popular strand of photography is suffering the detrimental side effects of many others - that is, repetition desensitises the viewer to the medium itself. I note with interest that this has been a theme picked up also by several of you whose work I admire greatly. There is a continuing expectation to strive for originality, to break new ground with imaginative subjects, conditions and so forth. I am as guilty as anyone of the obligatory 'sticks adrift in a misted sea' shot, and sometimes I rebuke myself for this and try harder to invigorate my work.

However, I do think there is a lot to be said for striving to do something well - better than it's been done before despite it being done many times. I will continue to try and develop myself as a long exposure landscape photographer, and this shot is the result of my wanting to achieve something subtly different. Mind you, the next time I see potential for some sticks adrift in a misted sea I will probably take a picture of the scene. But I will do my best to do it better than it's been done before. I will undoubtedly fail, but perhaps at least I'll come up with an improved end result over those I myself have captured previously...

Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

[Mark 16:14-20 NIV]

5 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:

1. Like it or not, we are ALL sinners: As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous—not even one. No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God. All have turned away; all have become useless. No one does good, not a single one.” (Romans 3:10-12 NLT)

2. The punishment for sin is death: When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. (Romans 5:12 NLT)

3. Jesus is our only hope: But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5:8 NLT) For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23 NLT)

4. SALVATION is by GRACE through FAITH in JESUS: God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. (Ephesians 2:8-10 NLT)

5. Accept Jesus and receive eternal life: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9 NLT) But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12 NLT) And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. (1 John 5:11-12 NLT)

Read the Bible for yourself. Allow the Lord to speak to you through his Word. YOUR ETERNITY IS AT STAKE!

Oklahoma Route 66

Feeder Road

Most of the Oklahoma roads I traveled as a boy in the 1950’s were not paved. Most of the automobiles were not air conditioned either. Travel by car involved a balancing act of determining the maximum speed one could obtain while maintaining control of the car, (and get some air circulating in 90 degree weather), and knowing the last possible moment to frantically roll up the windows or suffer the consequences of a cloud of dust on you and in you. You where left with no choice but to eat the dust and shake it out of your clothes. The dust did not pass like its maker. On a windless day, the dust might hang in the air for a quarter of a mile, and that translated into minutes with the windows rolled up and the car turning into an oven. As another car approached, the family acted as one, and a tardy hand at the window would get universal rebuke.

On the back roads of Oklahoma we had another universal custom: we waved. If the oncoming people were recognized then the whole family would join in. On the other hand, the “shotgun” person never waved at strangers. Children were allowed, and the driver was expected to raise one hand from the steering wheel and acknowledge the oncoming driver. The most common wave between men was a single pointing finger raised from the wheel. People who did not raise a hand were considered rude or city folk.

"Hey Bijou Planks!"

It's Terryman!

Hi Terryman!

You're always fun! *

"Well, I just want to warn you, today's my origin."

Oh! Ah...

Just a moment!

Here's money, run and buy me a pillow.

At the concession stand??

No! Across the street at the store!

Oh, here's my money, pick me up one of those inflatable mattresses.

We can't be sleeping on the floor during the show!

It's an origin! We'll be sleeping in the chairs for sure!"

"Okay guys, here goes! Announcer?"

Terryman is a left-handed Justice Chojin from Texas and Kinnikuman's best friend. He is very business-like and looks down on Kinnikuman, when he first appears within the anime and manga, but - on seeing Kinnikuman's strong sense of justice and fair-play - they soon become best friends.

Personality

Terryman was originally introduced as a chojin who would only fight for money, who was also immensely popular, and this led him to act in a cruel manner to people. This changed very quickly in the early chapters, where - inspired by Kinnikuman - he fights only for justice and strives to always help those in need, especially Kinnikuman.

He quickly became Kinnikuman’s friend, and developed a calmer and composed personality, but still maintains a funny and charismatic side. Terryman became a passionate individual, even sacrificing his leg and his life in order to safe other people or animals (as seen during th 21st Chojin Olympics preliminaries, were he saved a puppy from been run over by a bullet train). He shows an upbeat and energetic actitude, and won’t ever surrender or give up, even in the worst situations, making him a respectable and loved figure in the Idol Chojins.

Appearance

Overall Design

Terryman is a highly muscular man, who is described as handsome throughout the manga. Terryman has white hair, dark blue/grey eyes and wears a red outfit consisting of red boots with white laces, red knee-bands, red shorts and gloves. In the anime, his colour scheme has changed to blonde hair, and a blue outfit. On his forehead is the character 米 (Bei) and on his shoulders are the Star Emblems (スターエンブレム) which give him his Fighting Spirit.

Prosthetic Leg

At the 20th Chojin Olympics his left leg is shot and wounded by Kinkotsuman, which causes him to need a prosthetic leg in order to continue fighting (however, the leg can be very easily removed ).After a while, the leg was no longer mentioned. This changes in the Perfect Origin Arc. It was revealed that Backlund was able to create a perfect, improved version of the earlier prosthetic, which is able to be sturdily affixed and perform as perfectly as a flesh-and-blood leg.

While fighting against Justiceman, however, Terryman got his latest prosthetic badly damaged, and - as Backlund is revealed to have died - it leaves no one able to rebuild his prosthetic. Even when Backlund was alive, he cautioned Terryman about his prosthetic leg being one of a kind, unlikely to be ever repaired or fixed. Terryman's sacrifice ultimately convinced Justiceman to forfeit, a he was touched by Terryman's keen sense of justice. He now relies on a lesser - visibly fake - metallic leg.

Relationships

Kinnikuman

Terryman is the best friend of Kinnikuman. The two meet very early on in their careers, in their early twenties, and are at first antagonistic to one another, but soon they socialise on a regular basis, even with other members of each other's social circles. They form a tag-team that lasts for the entirety of their career, and - even when they temporarily argue or part - always reunite to work together and support each other. They display an unconditional trust and affection, often listening to one another when they would listen to no one else. They are shown to be friends, even into the Kinnikman Nisei series.

Natsuko Shono

Natsuko showed an instant attraction to Terryman, with whom she often went on dates and supported in his matches. Natsuko can be possessive, sometimes verbally or physically attacking other fans that compete for his attention, and the two are very close friends with Kinnikuman. Terryman sometimes prioritises fighting over Natsuko, such as striking her unconscious so that he can fight in a match, but ultimately he cares very deeply for her, even willing to cancel a once-in-a-lifetime match to care for her when she was in the intensive care unit of a hospital. Once married, they live together on a Texan ranch, but sleep in separate beds and dress in the same clothes. They raise a child named Terry the Kid together.

Terry the Kid

Terry the Kid has a strained relationship with his father. In flashbacks, Terryman was a strict teacher and trained Kid thoroughly, even pitting him in a death-match against Volcano. Terryman is seen to be an attentive father, but sometimes struck Terry the Kid when Kid spoke rudely of his friends. Kid spends most of the series motivated by trying to be better than his father, resenting all comparisons to him, but - despite all this - Terryman and Kid are seen affectionate and supportive of each other at later points.

Geronimo

Terryman was the one that saw the potetintial that was within him, even if he was a mere human. He travels back to Geronimo's village to ask for help, and after Geronimo became a chojin, they form a Tag team to enter the new tournament.

History

The Young Prince of London Arc

Terryman watches Robin Mask alone in a bar, while drinking from a distance. He later watches while Robin Mask sacrifices his Chojin powers for Alisa Mackintosh, and Terryman laments - while crossing off Robin's name for a list - that the man he was scouting sacrificed real potential for a human woman.

Later, Terryman reappears when Robin expresses a wish to get back his powers. He breaks up a fight between Robin and some human youths, while carrying a piece of Stonehenge, which was an integral part of Robin losing his powers. He tosses the stone to Robin, who recovers his powers, and then stops one of the youths from escaping, by using a signature move on their leg.

Terryman watches in awe of Robin Mask, while defending him to Paul Mackintosh. Terryman tosses him back his helmet and armour, while saying that he now has faith Robin will be a great wrestler and that he did not waste his time by travelling to London. Terryman then joins the crowds in watching the match between Robin Mask and Guillotine King.

Kinnikuman

Terryman initially appears as an antagonist, only helping people for money. He learns from Kinnikuman the meaning of Friendship Power, while falling in love with Natsuko Shono, and comes to be a major protagonist. Terryman loses his leg during the Chojin Olympics, resulting in him using a prosthetic leg. He will team up with Kinnikuman several times, as they form a tag-team called The Machineguns, and temporarily assume the identity of Kinnikuman Great. He will also work for Team Kinnikuman in the Survivor Match for the Kinniku Throne Arc.

1st Kaiju Extermination Arc

Terryman first arrived as an American Super Hero taking over Kinnikuman's designated area of Japan. Terry charged money for his services, which the Japanese Government considered "a small price to pay compared to being saved by Kinnikuman", and soon he was made the sole Hero of Japan (meaning only he was legally allowed to fight against monsters and evil chojin).

A child comes to Terryman for help, as his father has been taken hostage by a monster, but Terryman kicks the child (whom lacks the finances to hire him). Kinnikuman strikes him for refusing to help someone in need, before choosing to help the child instead; Terryman warns him that the military will attack him for not being an approved hero. The selflessness of Kinnikuman convinces him to change his ways, as he fights for justice and not for money.

Terryman next appears during a meeting between Natsuko and Kinnikuman, in which he defeats a monster. He flirts with Natsuko and flies away. When a competition between chojin and monsters arises, Terryman refuses as he will not make any money. He changes his mind when he realises Natsuko will be present. The match is set to be a tag team, but Kinnikuman walks away, and this leads to Terryman being attacked with scissors. Kinnikuman hears his screams for help and returns.

He is seen on a date with Natsuko, too. During the date, Kinnikuman is attacked by Kinkotsuman and Terryman comes to his defence. He also teases Kinnikuman for not having gadgets, such as hover-bikes. Terryman later is forced to fight Natsuko when she is turned giant and evil by one of Kinkotsuman's schemes; he confesses his love and refuses to harm her, but - when Kinkotsuman attacks them - Terryman is willing to die for her safety. Kinnikuman intervenes and Natsuko is returned to normal size. After a trip to the south with Kinnikuman, they soon become best friends.

Roots Island Arc

Kunta first appears in the male onsen , where she throws herself on Kinnikuman and begs for his help. Natsuko introduces Kunta as the princess of Roots Island, and Kunta explains that her island has been overrun by Kaiju, as well as that many warriors have been killed by Ukon. When Terryman and Kinnikuman agree to the job, she gives each of them a kiss on the cheek, before they ride on Miss Karasu to the island in order to defeat the Kaiju.

As they arrive, they are greeted by Elder Yosaku, and introduces them to the last warrior of the island: Tabuchi. Kinnikuman and Terryman travel together to Roots Island to help Kunta and save the islanders.

Harigoras arrives at the same time as Octopus Dragon, but - while Kinnikuman fights Octopus Dragon - Terryman takes on Octopus Dragon. Harigoras turns into a ball-like creature, much like how a hedgehog curls in on itself, before he shoots it with a gun and destroys it (as it explodes into an array of body-parts).

After they defeat Harigoras and Octopus King, a piece of meat appears before Kinnikuman and he eats the meat. Custom dictates whomever eats the meat must fight Ukon one-on-one in battle. It is meat thrown by Ukon in a challenge. Eventually, Mammora destroys Ukon and it is revealed Kinkotsuman and Iwao were working the robot the entire time, but they soon run away. When Kunta is rescued, she pays Terryman and Kinnikuman with stone money (which they cannot use).

20th Chojin Olympics Arc

Terryman is first seen in this arc, when he tells Kinnikuman that he cannot compete in the Chojin Olympics as Japan's representative has been removed by the chairman.

He also reveals that he is the Southern USA representative. Terryman and Specialman appear together as the USA representatives in the opening ceremony, and later wins the first preliminary match, which is Rock-Paper-Scissors.

He is distraught in the second preliminary match by Specialman's defeat, and deduces that his accident is at the hands of Kinkotsuman. During the battle royale, to determine who comes in eight place during the third preliminary round, Terryman realises that the referee is Kinkotsuman in disguise and arranges his defeat, which leads Kinnikuman to win the match by default. The first match for Terryman is against Skyman. After an exchange of blows, Terryman is knocked briefly unconscious. Specialman - in his injured state - comes to cheer Terryman onward; Terryman defeats Skyman with an Oklahoma Stampede.

At the Nippon Budokan, Terryman arrives to the semi-finals alongside Robin Mask. Terryman gets up at the end of the Kinnikuman vs. Ramenman match, at which point he sees Kinkotsuman attempting to assassinate Kinnikuman with a gun, and gets shot in the leg by accident. He crawls to his dressing room, where he is found by Natsuko, and begs her not to tell the chairman, as it would cause him to forfeit his match against Robin Mask (which is about to start). Terryman knocks Natsuko unconscious, before arriving at the last minute for his match. He pretends to not be injured, before fighting with dirty tactics. He throws sand in Robin's face and uses steel knuckle-dusters to attack.

Terryman screams in pain when he attempts his spinning tone-hold. Robin implements the Boston Crab, which causes him to give up and forfeit the match. Natsuko reveals that Terryman fought injured, at which point Robin Mask and Kinnikuman offer him their places in the finals. He then engages in a minor scuffle with Kinnikuman, as they bicker as friends. He later dances with Natsuko at the ball celebrating the finals. In a competition to determine who will be third place, he then battles Ramenman.

Terryman wins the match due to foul-play by Ramenman.

The Lost Three Days

Kinnikuman sets his sights upon Terryman as a tag partner, but only has three days until the tournament starts to convince him of participation, and - on reaching Terry's Ranch - Kinnikuman begs him, only for Terry to rebuke him due to a lack of time. Kinnikuman strikes Terryman, which knocks him off his horse, and this reveals that he has lost his leg, which Terryman states makes him useless as a partner. He thus rides away.

A ranch-hand - Buckland - reveals that he has a prosthetic leg that Terryman can use, and gives it to Kinnikuman so that Terryman may fight again. Kinnikuman waits outside the ranch, even forgoing food and rest, in hopes that Terryman will take pity on him and use the leg.

The next day Terryman wakes them with water to the face, after they pass out from heatstroke. Terryman says that he will work with Kinnikuman, only if Kinnikuman can fill up his trough; he gives him two bags, and tells him the river is fifteen miles away. To do this, he lends Kinnikuman a wild horse (knowing that Kinnikuman will never tame the horse and thus make the necessary trips). The horse is named Machinegun.

Kinnikuman still refuses to find another partner, and - after being attacked by the horse - manages to eventually mount Machinegun. At sunset, Kinnikuman makes the first round-trip to empty some water into the trough. While Terryman goes about his daily routine, Kinnikuman continues to fill the trough. Kinnikuman bonds with the horse and tames him. Kinnikuman makes it back just in time to win the bet made by Terryman, and Terryman thus dons his prosthetic leg and agrees to join his team.

The two go on to enter the tournament.

American Tour Arc

A tag tournament is announced, in which Kinnikuman must engage in a round robin. He must fight the Chojin Council, Chojin Federation, Chojin Association, and the Kaiju - the winner of the four groups will gain control of America. Kinnikuman finds Terryman in Amarillo, Texas; Terryman initially refuses to participate, due to the work on his ranch, and it is revealed he has lost his left leg.

The wound he obtained by Kinkotsuman increasingly got worse, until he was forced to amputate. Kinnikuman eventually convinces him to use a prosthetic leg by winning a special bet. Kinnikuman has to ride on the most wild horse on Terryman's ranch, Machinegun, and draw some water from the nearby river. After learning that Machinegun lost his leg by bear-trap, Kinnikuman understands the horse's plight and promises to stick by Machinegun until he trusts other people again. Just as Kinnikuman is about to lose the bet, he makes it back with the last bit of water.

Over 100,000 people attend to watch the tournament in Houston, Texas. They form The Machineguns, with the theme of "The Magnificent Seven" as they make an entrance. Their first match is against Beauty Rhodes and Jean Steamboard, who form The Emperors. During their match, Terryman is accidentally knocked out by Kinnikuman. Kinnikuman begins to lose, but Terryman wakes up long enough to save Kinnikuman with his own body. The match ultimately ends in a draw. The next few matches take place in Los Angeles.

Terryman and Kinnikuman are set to win by default against Rugged Brothers, as one of their opponents lost in their previous match and is unable to compete. Kinkotsuman reveals that he is the new tag partner, and the group rename themselves Monster Master/Student Combo. Kinnikuman and Terryman get trapped under a lighting rig that Kinkotsuman crashes down on them, but Kinnikuman knocks Terryman out when Terryman panics over the loss of his leg when faced with Kinkotsuman that caused his leg injury. Kinnikuman wins the match in record time against both Kinkotsuman and Iwao.

In the The Emperors vs. Blood Illusions match, the Blood Illusions continue to attack despite The Emperors forfeiting the match. Terryman enters the ring to intervene; Terryman loses his prosthetic leg and is attacked by the Blood Illusions, as is Meat when Meat comes to his defence.

The next few matches take place at Madison Square Gardens, New York. Terryman panics in the waiting room while waiting for their match against the Blood Illusions, and seeks to quit the tournament, but a small boy in a wheelchair comes to return his lost hat. The boy also lost his leg, but - since seeing Terryman fight - was inspired to use his prosthetic leg to walk again, and walks unsteadily to Terryman. Terryman promises to be brave, just as the child was brave to try his prosthetic. Iwao intervenes in the match and removes Terryman's prosthetic leg. Kinkotsuman hits the child and knocks him unconscious.

Kinkotsuman keeps attacking the unconscious child, as he clings to the leg to prevent Kinkotsuman from destroying the lower limb. In this arc, Terry got stabbed in the forehead repeatedly, and from this point on, his forehead kanji looked more an asterisk. Beauty Rhodes returns the leg to Terryman. Terryman goes on to win the match and celebrates with the child, while they - the New World Supermen Association - goes on to control America.

2nd Kaiju Extermination Arc

Beansman goes to Texas to find seven chojin to protect Planet Rakka. He tests Terryman's power with a monster, which Terryman easily defeats. Terryman agrees to help the planet. They travel the world together to find the rest of the seven chojin needed to fight. They win against their opponents and manage to save Planet Rakka.

21st Chojin Olympics Arc

Terryman prevents Kinnikuman from fighting Wolfman, as the first preliminary events occurs. He wins the first round by not falling from the giant sieve. He wins the second round of a swimming competition, where they must swim faster than the ensuing fire, and cheers on Kinnikuman. [48] The third preliminary match tests how far each chojin can push a train; after pushing it far enough to disqualify Wolfman, who will now be in last place, he chases after the train at full speed. He stops the train to save a puppy, but the act of touching the train - after it has left the station - disqualifies him and allows Wolfman to be an entrant.

He acts as a commentator for much of the arc that follows, such as the final preliminary event. This trend follows even into the finally fight between Warsman and Kinnikuman, where he still acts as a commentator.

Seven Devil Chojin Arc

During the celebrations for the 21st Chojin Olympics: The Big Fight, the Seven Akuma Chojin are accidentally freed by Kinnikuman. They kidnap Alexandria Meat during the festivities, and each take a body part, and declare that Kinnikuman must defeat each of them to retrieve a part and bring Meat back to life. When Kinnikuman is later injured during his match with Stereo Cassette King, Terryman tries to fight in disguise as Kinnikuman, but it ultimately defeated as the remaining Seven Akuma Chojin fight him 6-on-1. The Mountain finishes this attack with a Mountain Drop.

When Kinnikuman beats Black Hole, he cannot fight any longer and the Justice Chojin decide to fight on his behalf. The remaining Seven Devil Chojin - and justice chojin - match up to find their opponents, and The Mountain is matched with Terryman (and the Mountain possesses Meat's hips). The match will take place in the Chichibu mountains. At first, it appears that Terryman is alone in the ring, but then the Mountain reveals he was disguised as one of the mountains and was there all along.

They exchange a series of blows, but - while grabbing Mountain in a Spinning Toe Hold - Terryman notices one of the laces on his shoe has snapped (a bad omen in Japanese culture). He later is in danger and caught on the ropes by Mountain. Terry attacks with a Deadly Drive, only for another shoe-lace to snap. A third lace snaps, but barely holds together, and Terryman realises that Brocken Jr. is clinging to life.

Terryman barely avoids a Body Slam.

The last string of Terryman's laces snaps. Terryman is heavily beaten by the Mountain, but - when Mountain insults his fallen comrades - this reinvigorates Terryman into attacking anew. Terryman cries, as he attacks Mountain, even when Mountain is touching the ropes and his actions are illegal. Terryman climbs the ropes and chances a Flying Knee Drop, but the attack causes Terry extreme pain, as it injures his prosthetic leg. The Mountain attempts a Mountain Drop, but Terryman counters with ease and stops the attack.

Terryman ends the match with a Brain Buster. The Mountain reveals that - although defeated - he won't die alone, and the ropes to the ring snap as he grabs at Terryman's ankle. They both fall from an extreme height, which results in The Mountain's death and Terryman's seeming demise. It is revealed that - remembering his promise to Kinnukuman- Terryman clung to life and returned to reunite with his friends.

During the fight with Atlantis, he, Brocken, and Mongolman go through the Spirit World Pocket to stop the fallen Devil Chojins from manipulating Kinnikuman. During the fight with Buffaloman, Terry is the one who gives Kinnikuman the idea of giving Buffaloman too much power.

Golden Mask Arc

Terryman appears with the other justice chojin for a fitness test.

It is during this time that the Golden Mask and Silver Mask are separated, resulting in all justice chojin slowly losing their power, and Terryman is the first to seen faint. Terryman rushes to attack the Devil Knights, but is knocked back by them. Terryman - along with his companions - are placed into plastic bubbles, which act as life-support devices. During Kinnikuman's battle with Planetman, Planetman steals the souls of the siegi chojin trapped within the life support devices. Terryman - and the others - are saved when Kinnikuman sacrifices Warsman in order to protect the rest of the group and defeat Planetman.

This defeat of Planetman restores Terryman - and others - to full power.

Warsman is revealed to be alive, but in a precarious state. Terryman decides to turn into a microscopic size and go inside Warsman's body, along with Robin Mask, Brocken Jr., Kinnikuman, and Geronimo. Terryman decides that the group will hold off the remaining Devil Knights, until Kinnikuman can reach the top floor and retrieve the Golden Mask - the matches will take place on a tower of rings formed along Warsman's spinal column. Kinnikuman eventually manages to climb his way to the third floor of the tower inside Warsman, where Terryman is fighting Asuraman.

When Ashuraman seeks to defeat Terryman with an Ashura Buster, Kinnikuman jumps into the ring to absorb the impact and save Terryman's life. Terryman manages to gain some advantage in battle, but Ashuraman steals both of his arms and leaves him without the ability to use attacks involving his arms. It is revealed that - during battle - Terryman allows Warsman's control unit to be hit, which causes him to spasm and threatens all their lives (and Warsman's), and only a second - and equal strike - will save the unit.

Terryman is willing to sacrifice his life to the Asura Buster to save the others.

Asuraman reveals that he never stole Buffaloman's arms, which gives Terryman an idea: he borrows Buffaloman's strength to summon his arms and use them to replace his missing arms. He grabs Geronimo's tomahawks, as Asuraman lifts him into the air, and commits the Honourable Death Drop against Asuraman, as both he and Asuraman plummet towards the control unit. He uses Buffaloman's arms to finish the blow to the unit, which gets it to work again.

Ashuraman is the first to stand after the attack, which means he has technically won, but - with both him and Terryman out of the ring - he has to return to the ring to claim his victory. Terryman uses the last of his strength to tackle Asuraman and prevent him from returning to the ring, which results in a draw. Terryman holds Asuraman back long enough for Kinnikuman to continue his climb. He soon collapses out of exhaustion, but - even unconscious - he manages to keep a leg hold on Asuraman, keeping him in place.

Dream Chojin Tag Arc

A second Mount Fuji appears in Japan.

On top of this mountain, the Universal Chojin Tag Team trophy appears. Underneath, there appears a series of rings that allow for eight tag-teams to compete. Terryman - along with the other justice chojin - goes to Kourakuen Hall to discuss the situation. After the others announce their group, Terryman states he has no reason to object to their decision and walks away. Terryman reveals he will not team up with Kinnikuman, but instead seeks to work with Geronimo and bring him back to full health (since he is now in a vegetative state).

Terryman visits a Cherokee village in Oklahoma, where - despite his soul supposedly having left his body - Geronimo protects him from being attacked by the villagers. Terryman begs Chief Cheyenne to heal Geronimo and bring him back to full health. Once Geronimo is healed, and turned into a chojin, they arrive together in Japan for the tournament. They enter their ring through a randomised set of corridors, which pits them against the Stray Akuma Chojin Combo. Later, when the justice chojin group together to protect Robin Mask, whose face is exposed, Terryman refuses to offer his help and states that his merciful nature has made him weak.

First Rounds

The New Machineguns - (compromised of Terryman and Geronimo) - start the match dirty, by attacking after pretending to shake hands with their opponents: Stray Akuma Chojin Combo. Terryman starts to strangle Asuraman with a bandage. Asuraman counters with a Body Slam, and Terryman then calls Geronimo in for a tag-team counter-move, before he tags in Geronimo. Terryman soon starts to doubt himself and regrets not having teamed with Kinnikuman. They then break off two of Ashuraman's arms.

The dolls collected by the Stray Akuma Chojin Combo scatter and break on the ring-mat, which leads Terryman to suspect that it means his destiny is to be killed in the match. They exchange a series of blows, but are soon outmatched with a Hell's Combination technique. Terryman is then heavily beaten, but Geronimo fails to understand his hand gestures, and Terryman realises his mistake in pairing up with someone other than Kinnikuman. Kinnikuman offers his support from the crowds, reinvigorating Terryman who nearly wins against Sunshine, but Asuraman threatens to take Geronimo's life lest Terryman concede.

Terryman rips off his stars from his arms, symbols of his chojin nature, and concedes. He is saved by Kinnikuman Great, when the Stray Akuma Chojin Combo fight on past the bell, but this act costs Kinnikuman Great a vast deal of injuries and incapacitates him. It is shown that Kinnikuman Great is dying, and he gives Terryman his mask and asks Terryman to act in his place: Terryman agrees.

Prince Kamehame's spirit then trains Terryman.

Semi-Finals

A tug-of-war determines that Terryman's next match is against the Stray Devil Combo again (due to him assuming Kamehame's position and joining Kinnikuman's team with no one wiser). The match takes place with their competitors surrounding the ring, so no one is allowed escape except through death. Terryman struggles to keep pace in the match, but Kamehame's spirit tells him that he should try to emulate him less and be his own person, and so he starts to use his own techniques and style again.

They begin to work well together as a team, until the cursed canvas comes to life with the spirits of the Seven Devil Chojin they destroyed in an earlier arc. The Muscle Brothers start to fail once more, when - after sowing seeds of doubt about Kinnikuman Great II's identity - Kinnikuman and Terryman start to fight among themselves, with Kinnikuman demanding to see his face. When Terryman sacrifices himself for Kinnikuman, it reignites their Friendship Power. The two then manage to win the match, after a series of events and some flashbacks to Ashuraman's childhood, with a Muscle Docking technique.

It is later Terryman who discovers Doctor Bombe is deceased, and stops the others from uncovering his dead body, lest it demotivate them, and he then buries Bombe alongside his best friend: Kamehame. The final match is against Hell Missionaries; the ring is surrounded by swords, which will pierce anyone thrown out of the ring or who tries to escape. [93] The match will be a three-round match, with each round lasting ten minutes until the final round, which will have no time-limit attached.

Finals

During the match against Neptuneman, some of Terryman's blond hair is exposed. More and more of Terryman's face is exposed, as he panics at the idea Kinnikuman may reject him on learning the truth, and thus leaves himself open to attacks. With only seconds to spare, Terryman is defeated with a Cross-Bomber in the first round and his face is revealed. Terryman has his stars returned to him by Asuraman, who rejects how he gave up earlier, and - thus due to not having technically quit his match - is still eligible to compete in the tournament, as he never technically lost.

They gain an advantage in the second round, and Kinnikuman - now their friendship is renewed - tears his white vest to offer a makeshift bandage to Terryman. They later manage to trick their opponents by switching places underneath the ring and swapping masks, and this lets them gain the upper-hand. Terryman is then knocked out of the ring onto the spikes, where he is incapacitated. They work together, after Terryman recovers to win with a Muscle Docking.

The two of them win the third round when both opponents faint.

They then continue together to retrieve their trophy.

Survivor Match Arc

Prehistory

Terryman attends Kinnikuman's coronation.

He is appointed "Staff Officer" of the Justice Chojin Corps. When the Five Fated Princes arrive, Terryman states that he is unable to help Kinnikuman due to his new role requiring him to be impartial, and that - as Kinnikuman is no longer prince he must not join his team. Terryman - instead - returns to Texas to teach his students, such as Dickieman, and watches the first round matches on a television set. On seeing Kinnikuman murdered in the ring, he abandons his medals and flees to go to the ring.

Terryman vs. King the 100-Ton

During the match against King the 100-Ton, Terryman and Robin Mask arrives together to save Meat. They are allowed to fight on Kinnikuman's team, as he has secretly added their names to the member roster in invisible ink (which is now visible). Terryman thus takes over in the match against 100-Ton. Terryman enters the ring on Kinnikuman's behalf, who begins the match with a drop-kick that is easily blocked by King, and - as tries again with a punch - his fists become bloodied.

King then jumps on his hands. King takes off several of his weights, until he is left with only 20 tons, as he seeks to prove a point to Terryman. This allows him to move at a quicker speed. King then presses a lever on the ring, which reveals a see-saw was hidden beneath the canvas. Each time King jumps on the see-saw, he adds weights to his body and Terryman goes higher and higher, until he finally strikes the ceiling at some force.

Terryman learns to time his attacks, so he can reverse the see-saw and send King hurtling backwards. After Terryman gets him in a hold, King withdraws his limbs inside his body and turns into a spherical shape. King is able to split into two balls and return as one, which enables him to be creative in his attacks, and finally his turns into a giant dumbbell, which starts to crush Terryman under its enormous weight. Kinnikuman discovers King is being manipulated by Kinnikuman Mariposa, who uses signs to tell him how to attack, and Kinnikuman uses a sign to force King to return to his usual form. Terryman is then able to use a Texas Clover Hold.

King finds a stray card, which allows him to turn his body into spikes to fight off Terryman. He finally returns to his full weight and full power, and he plans to hit Terryman with full impact, intending to break every bone in his body. It indeed breaks every one of Terryman's bones. Kinnikuman bends the see-saw with a Face Flash, which allows Terryman to alter his cause and headbutt King. The flashcards all fall from the ceiling in the kerfuffle, which causes King's body to shift chaotically into everything at once. Terryman takes advantage by stopping him from transforming, using the ropes of the ring, and wins with a Calf Branding.

This breaks King into dozens of pieces, killing him instantly. Unfortunately, a falling piece of 100-Ton's body knocks out Terryman, which means the match ends in an official tie. Terryman is too injured to continue, and so Robin Mask takes over against Kinnikuman Mariposa. When Robin struggles in his match, Terryman appears - heavily bandaged - to offer support for Kinnikuman and motivate Robin. Terryman is next pitted against Motorman, but is treated to a barrage of attacks that he is too weak to fend off.

Terryman vs. Motorman

Motorman appears as a competitor and second guard for Team Kinnikuman Zebra, where he is pitted against Terryman in Himeji Castle. Motorman lays a series of blows against an already weakened Terryman, until Terryman traps him in a double-arm suplex. The suplex is incomplete, leading Motorman to dive head-first into Terryman, who catches his drill with both hands. He proceeds to use his Battery Claw, before drilling into Terryman's chest. This is followed with a Spark Ring Flash.

Terryman aims an attack for his legs, which do not emit light, and knocks him down to the mat, but Motorman retaliates with a Drill-a-Hole Spark. He hits Terryman and sends him flying out of the ring. [113] Terryman is caught by Ramenman, who is in disguise as Bikeman. He is then laid down to rest.

Perfecting the Muscle Spark

Once healed, Terryman helps Kinnikuman train for his final match.

They work with Robin Mask on top of two adjacent towers, before a crystal lake pool, where they throw down dummies and judge by the reflection what position works best. Terryman then sacrifices himself, so that Kinnikuman can practise on a real human as opposed to a dummy. Terryman - now too injured to participate - sits out the rest of the tournament to rest and recover. Once recovered, Terryman - along with other Justice Chojin - go to the final battle to offer support, where he meets Kinnikuman Super Phoenix's mother and leads her to Osaka Castle. He is last seen supporting and celebrating Kinnikuman's victory.

Kinnikuman (2011)

Perfect Origin Arc

Prehistory

Terryman is reintroduced saving a boy in Japan.

He has come to Japan at the request of Meat Alexandria, where three chojin factions plan to sign a peace treaty: Justice Chojin, Perfect Chojin, and Devil Chojin. Terryman is the spokesman for the Justice Chojin. He signs the treaty at the Japan Martial Arts Stadium, and several days later he participates in a Chojin Appreciation Day. After his shoelace snaps, he notices that the arena is being invaded. Terryman gets the children to safety, when it is revealed these are Perfect Chojin from outer space.

After Max Radial defeats Specialman and Canadianman - and Tileman, Curry Cook, and Benkiman are turned into humans - Terryman jumps into the ring to protect people and stop the Perfect Chojin. He punches Strong the Budo and declares a full-scale tournament. Natsuko and Geronimo beg Terryman not to compete, as he would need to defeat all seven chojin alone, but he states that he must for the safety of the world. He picks a card at random that determines his opponent: Max Radial.

Terryman vs. Max Radial

The match takes place at the Tokyo Dome. Terryman attacks from the red corner, before the match begins, before landing a storm of punches and proceeds with a Spinning Toe Hold. It is revealed Max Radial's legs are made from suspensions, so the leg hold has no power, and he tightens them and releases them so that Terryman is sent flying in the distance. Terryman attempts a Calf Branding, but Max's tires stop his face from making contact with the ring canvas.

Terryman is attacked by a Drift Tackle, but - when he stands - his body is torn with slashes from the tires. Terryman attempts to counter with an Oklahoma Stampede-styled Throw, but Max stops this with a Big Radial Fin. Max attacks again and again, until Terryman's skin is ripped into shreds. Even after Terryman faints, he stands and prevents another Drift Tackle.

It is revealed that Terryman has been wearing down the tires on Max Radial's shoulders, which is where Terryman starts to focus his attacks. Terryman manages to scrape the rubber from the tires, before exploding the tires. He is finally able to use a Calf Branding attack and a Texas Condor Kick, before winning with a Tenacious Blow. Terryman falls out of the ring, only to be caught by Kinnikuman. When Max Radial is murdered by Strong the Budo, Terryman is horrified and fails to understand them.

Interim

As such, he fought and won Max Radial, getting grievously injured, sitting over until the Perfect Origin arrival.

Terryman vs. Justiceman

Justiceman fights Terryman on the 3rd floor of Yggdrasil.

Terryman grabs Justiceman's head with a Texas Bulldozer, but Justiceman counters with a back-drop. While Terryman writhes in pain, Justiceman attacks again with a Moonsault Drop, and Terryman uses this as an opportunity for a knee-crusher. The attack fails and Justiceman knocks him back. Justiceman announces that he will accept the Perfect Chojin are wrong, if Terryman can best him in battle. He also states that he intended to fight to the death. Terryman accepts and attempts a series of blows, but none work.

Justiceman tries to stomp on a downed Terryman, but Terryman attempts to knocks him down with a sliding kick. The kick misses, but Terryman manages to grab Justiceman's other leg and knock him to the canvas, before using a Spinning Toe Hold. The crowd cheers for Terryman, but Justiceman kicks him away and counters with a triangle-hold. He then uses a shoulder-throw to toss Terryman across the ring.

After flinging Terryman around the ring, but Terryman realises that Justiceman has a pattern to how he fights: he always uses "logical" movements. Terryman feigns a Condor Kick, which Justiceman raises his arms to counter, but Terryman changes to a double-somersault kick. He then uses a German Suplex, followed by a full-weight moonsault (aerial moves he would never usually move, so an opponent would not logically expect). Terryman uses a King Kong Drop, but Justiceman evades and uses a Judgement Crash.

The move does vast damage to Terryman's arms, but the stars on his arms begin to glow. Terryman proceeds to use continual middle-kicks with his left leg, despite seeming to have injured his left knee, but Justiceman blocks every kick. It is revealed that Buckland created Terryman a new artificial leg, almost as good as an organic leg, but the leg cannot be replaced if it is broken (especially due to Buckland's death.

Justiceman counters by attacking Terryman's right leg, before Terryman attempts a Texas Clover-Hold. The move is countered by Justiceman, who uses a knee-bar on the right leg, but Terryman breaks from the hold. Terryman accuses Justiceman of taking pity by not attacking his left leg, but Justiceman states he wants to leave Terryman no excuse for having lost the match. He follows this with a Judgement Twist, which destroys enough bones and tendons to make Terryman's left arm useless.

Terryman tears out two corners of the ring, which creates a Texas Twister. This knocks Justiceman to the canvas, allowing Terryman a chance to use the Texas Twister once again, but this time Justiceman is able to counter with a chop. Terryman follows with a Calf Branding. It fails to damage Justiceman, who uses an ankle-lock on Terryman's right leg and breaks his leg. A Judgement Avalanche follows, which causes the light on Terryman's stars to diminish. Even without working limbs, Terryman headbutts Justiceman.

Justiceman attacks back with a Justice Penalty. The light returns to Terryman's stars, as he regains his Texan Spirit. The force of the Judgement Penalty knocks Terryman's prosthetic leg from his body, and - despite his extensive injuries - Terryman crawls towards Justiceman. He tries to fight, but Justiceman declares that he already found him "guilty" when he used his Judgement Penalty, and he cannot judge a person twice; as Terryman survived the move and Justiceman cannot continue to fight (due to having given judgement), Terryman wins as the match is effectively forfeited. He gifts Terryman his dumbbell.

Justiceman proceeds to compliment Terryman's Fighting Spirit (what Terryman dubs his 'Texan Spirit').

Post-Tournament

He travels with Kinnikuman, Meat, and the rest to watch the final fight: The Man vs. General Devil, in Australia.

Omega Centauri's Six Spears Arc

Terryman attends Planet Kinniku for an awards ceremony, a month after the previous arc.

He has been given a new prosthetic leg, albeit inferior to the last. A force-field proceeds to trap him inside the Kinniku Palace, alongside the other Idol Chojin. The force-field also shuts down the palace in the demon realm, trapping inside the Devil Chojin, and the Chojin Graveyard; it is revealed Satan put the force-fields in place, as he plans to unleash the Omega Centauri Six Spears onto Earth.

Unnamed Arc

Prehistory

Terryman finally makes contact with Kinnikuman from Muscleham Palace. He states they were trapped due to a barrier created by Satan, but - now Satan is defeated - they can make contact and leave the palace. The Man asks the eight Justice Chojin to break up into teams of two, in order to defeat the choushin, and go to their locations: Terryman teams up with Geronimo. After twenty-four hours of preparation, the Man sends Terryman and the others to the choushin. The first location is revealed to be in Egypt.

After Terryman realises he is in Giza, Egypt, a ring bursts out of the sand and Prisman appears inside the ring. Prisman fights against Bicorn, leading Terryman to watch the fight alongside Geronimo. After Prisman dies, Geronimo becomes disheartened and Terryman inspires him to keep on fighting and maintain hope.

Then, once the Tower of Babel is opened, Terryman encourage Geronimo to go, saying that he isn't in good conditions to fight against the menace of the choushin.

Kinnikuman Nisei

Terryman is rarely seen in the first part of the manga. We see him mostly in flashbacks, where we know he has married Natsuko and owns a ranch in Texas, and as since fathered Terry the Kid. He is sometimes seen supporting his son in his matches, such as being their during the preliminary round of the Chojin Olympics, and later participates in a tag-team exhibition match with Kinnikuman against the 20 Million Powers.

In the Ultimate Chojin Tag Tournament Arc, a pair of Time Chojin go back to 1983. Terryman initially refuses to believe the Time Chojin or the Time Warp 8 are from the future, before participating with Kinnikuman as part of the Machineguns in the Ultimate Chojin Tag Tournament to defeat the New Generation participants. He eventually loses against the Muscle Brothers Nouveau in the semi-finals, where he realises that the New Generation were telling the truth, and goes on to support them.

Kinnikuman vs. Terryman

In a special edition chapter, Meat tells a story to Terry the Kid and Mantaro Kinniku. In which, Terryman challenges his best friend Kinnikuman to a fight. This is an filler arc set twenty-nine years previous to the Chojin Olympic Resurrection. After twenty-six years of service, Kinnikuman was set to return to Planet Kinniku, but Terryman challenges him to a fight for honour, and Kinnikuman is granted fives days for the match (preparation and the fight itself). He announces the fight will be at 6pm Todoroki Stadium, with no press or audiences allowed.

Warsman arrives at Terryman's ranch in the USA, riding a horse, and he is alongside Buffaloman - they declare they will help him to train. They initially defeat Terryman, proving he has a lot of progress to make to defeat Kinnikuman. Two days later, Terryman is able to defeat them both. They leave together for the match, only to discover Natsuko was in a car accident. Terryman stays by her side in the ICU, while Warsman and Buffaloman sleep outside. Natsuko awakes just long enough to tell Terryman to go to Japan and fight.

When Terryman cannot be found, Kinnikuman is one of the only people who believe he will appear. Robin Mask acts as referee and announcer, but it then begins to rain and Kinnikuman is scheduled to leave in just one hour. Terryman arrives at 6:50, just ten minutes before Kinnikuman must leave. Robin Mask intervenes at 7:00 to announce the match is a draw, and Kinnikuman and Terryman embrace.

Dawn of Terry the Kid

Kid returns home bruised and injured, which causes Natsuko Shono to chastise him, as he has came home from school with injuries every day for two weeks. After Terryman talks to Kid, Kid reveals that a new jujitsu chojin has transferred to his school. The jujitsu chojin then forms a new jujitsu club without Terry the Kid.

After Terry the Kid expresses a desire to join the jujitsu club, giving up wrestling, Terryman takes him out onto the ranch to fulfil a Terry Clan family tradition, which is to remove tree stumps at least once a day from the male chojin's tenth birthday. After Terryman cuts down the trees, he tells Kid to remove the stumps, but Kid grows tired and fails to remove any more. A group of Kid's ex-teammates show up, where they proceed to mock him for the training with his father, and mock Terryman in the process, at which point Volcano reveals he was the jujitsu chojin that displaced Kid and stole his teammates for a new club.

Terryman recognises him as the son of The Mountain, and Volcano declares that he wishes to challenge Kid to a fight to the death, which will occur in two days time. The Mountain is driving the truck that takes them away, and rams a street-sign that is sent hurtling against Terryman, who is injured by the pole. Terryman teaches Kid not to be afraid, which inspires Kid to train and remove all the remaining stumps, and Terryman leaves to go to bed for the evening. The following day, Kid has removed all stumps but one.

There is a four-leafed clover under the roots of the final tree, but Kid remove the tree stump without harming the four-leafed clover, and this begins the creation of his new signature technique: the Texas Clover-Hold. This move is witnessed by Terryman, who watches in surprise the success of his son.

Two days later, Terryman drives to the Palo Duro Canyon with Terry the Kid.

Terryman watches from the side-lines, as Kid expresses fear at the upcoming events, and Kid's club cheer on for Volcano. The Mountain reveals that he chose the venue due to his match against Terryman happening in a mountain range, and discusses how - after he died and went to the Chojin Graveyard - that Satan gave him a chance at a new life in order to exact his revenge. He raised his son to exact revenge on his behalf. Terryman states that he believes his son will win, as his son has the passion and heart.

At several times, Kid expresses fear throughout the match. Terryman reiterates that he believes in Kid's abilities and that Kid has a Texan spirit, and that - if he could overcome his training - he can overcome this match with just as much ease. Kid proceeds to use the Texas Clover-Hold, which defeats Volcano and secures him a victory. After Kid manages to save his lucky charm, Terryman appears on the ring and reveals that is where the name of their family-technique originated, as well as that he is proud of his son.

Hercules Factory Arc

Originally, Terryman had little impact in the sequel story. He appeared as one of the vanquished veteran chojin who were defeated by the dMp, but for the most part appeared in flashbacks regarding his son.

It is revealed at the Hercules Factory that Terryman still spoke highly and kindly about Kinnikuman, even slapping his own son for accusing Kinnikuman of stealing the glory, the limelight and the best trophies from his friend. This forces Terryman and Kinnikuman to attempt to repair the friendship between their sons; it pushes their sons into a repeat of their vitriolic, close knit, argumentative relationship of their earlier days.

D.M.p Arc

Terryman appears in several small flashbacks.

He explains to Terry the Kid that the Kenyon family aren't designed for high-impact power moves, as they do not put on a lot of muscle mass, and thus Terry the Kid would hurt himself trying moves like the Kinniku Buster. They instead inherit massive arm and leg strength, as well as a tenacious spirit, and have strong signature moves, such as the Spinning Toe Hold.

In a second flashback, Kid remembers how his father would ride horses in the ranch, and how - one time - he was thrown from the horse and Kid assumed he would be hurt. Terryman catches his balance and holds himself upright on the horse with both hands, and uses this as a lesson to Kid not to ever look away in fear, as the Texas spirit is what makes their clan strong and will always protect them.

Ultimate Chojin Tag Tournament

Prehistory

Terryman is first seen winning the 1983 Universal Tag Tournament.

He - alongside Kinnikuman - wins the tournament with Muscle Docking at 48 minutes and 23 seconds. They are stopped from removing the Championship trophy by the Time Chojin, who Terryman suspects are ancient Chojin from the past, unaware of their current status or strength or purpose.

They attack Terryman, who has been weakened by his previous battle. The Time Chojin reveal they are from 34 years in the future, setting the current arc in 2017. Robin Mask intervenes to save Terryman and Kinnikuman's lives, but dies in the process, which leads to Kevin Mask dying in 2017, as he is slowly wiped from existence. This triggers the New Generation to go back, in an attempt to save Robin's life.

The New Generation arrive before the Legends, but - when Terry the Kid seeks to make contact with his father - Terryman swat him away at a distance. Terryman believes them to be on the side of the Time Chojin, so he refuses to trust them. [148] After Alisa Mackintosh is severely injured in place of Robin Mask, the Time Chojin say that this is proof they are all on the same side, and Terryman completely distrusts them. When the New Generation attempts to make an emergency phone call, this panics the Legends - unused to seeing cell phones - and Terryman attacks Check Mate.

Harabote Muscle then announces a new Ultimate Chojin Tag Tournament.

On television, it is revealed Kinnikuman and Terryman have reformed The Machineguns, were they are seen training and sparring together. Terryman later spies on Terry the Kid and Robin Mask, as they train in an old gymnasium, but Natsuko Shono unmasks him and confronts him. Terryman later arrives at the tournament itself alongside Kinnikuman as Entry #1. Terryman starts an argument with Terry the Kid, when Harabote announces a battle royale to decide the tournament finalists.

Battle Royale

Terryman and Kinnikuman start the battle royale by attacking Terry the Kid together. Later, while Terryman attacks Neo Chopin, Kinnikuman attacks Roseman; this causes Roseman to expand his rose into full bloom. Roseman uses his Vampire Rose technique against Kinnikuman, and Neo Chopin uses Sickle Note to attack Terryman.

Roseman brags about his technique, as Kinnikuman's breathing starts to slow down. The Adrenalines try to intervene, but The Machineguns tell them to keep back, and Kinnikuman rips his way out of Roseman's body. Terryman also wrenched the sickle from his body, and together The Machineguns use the Muscle Docking techniques against The Celebrities. The Celebrities then disqualified and dragged out of the ring by medics.

After the Time Chojin fight against the Muscle Brothers Nouveau, the Machineguns intervene.

They stop the Time Chojin with backspin kicks, before Terryman captures Lightning in a Pendulum Breaker, and he follows up with a synchronised attack with Kinnikuman. The Time Chojin counter and knock The Machineguns onto the mat. When they struggle in battle, Barrierfreeman and Ilioukhine get involved and protect them. As the other teams are weeded out, they advance to the main tournament by process of elimination. Terryman then warms up with Kinnikuman for the main matches, before being pranked by Mantaro with a fart attack and adding to their rivalry.

Quarter-Finals

The match begins with Ortega and Kinnikuman in the ring; they lock right hands, but Kinnikuman refuses to lock with his left hand. Ortega lunges with a hip attack, and Kinnikuman tries to use a sleeper-hold, but fails. Moaidon clutches at Kinnikuman's left arm, causing him immense pain. Kinnikuman breaks free, as Ortega uses a series of palm strikes. Kinnikuman dodges until Ortega lands a rolling sobat to the stomach, followed by a kick to Kinnikuman's left arm (breaking his attempted Niku Curtain).

Kinnikuman uses a lariat with his right arm. Ortega seems like he may fall from the ring, but uses an Iguazu Terror at the last second and catches Kinnikuman into a neck-lock. He takes Kinnikuman's arm into a crucifixion pose, which reveals a fake skin on Kinnikuman's arm and a huge gash on his skin. Kinnikuman knocks Ortega onto the corner post, at which point Terryman tags into the match and both kick Ortega away. Ortega is knocked down, at which point Kinnikuman reveals that - the night before - he returned the Long Horn in his left arm back to Buffaloman.

Terryman gives Kinnikuman his bandanna to use as a tourniquet, and the two of them team up to use a set of drop-kicks against the Carpet Bombings to keep them at bay, which is followed by a pair of head-scissors. At this point, Terryman kicks Kinnikuman out of the ring to force him to take a break. Terryman appears to gain the upper-hand over Moaidon. This is followed by a Bronco Fist. Moaidon falls over the ropes, but grabs the top-rope at the last second. He lands back in the ring and Terryman uses a Spinning Toe Hold against him.

Moaidon uses his Brilliant Rock, which constricts his leg around Terryman's torso. He delivers a series of blows against Terryman, who refuses to touch Kinnikuman out of a desire to protect him, and Moaidon uses a Moai Doai Merikov, which is followed by an Atonement Awl. This is aimed at Kinnikuman, but Terryman jumps between Kinnikuman and Ortega. Ortega uses a Somersault Grand Slam. Terryman is then thrown into Moaidon's Liar's Mouth, which will close/slam down on Terryman any time he answers a question truthfully. Moaidon asks and Terryman answers:

Do you prefer hamburgers to gyudon? Yes.

Do you prefer blonde Americans to any other women? No.

Do you wish to usurp Kinnikuman as leader of the Machineguns? No.

Would you sacrifice your life for someone else? Yes.

The blows that result from truthful answers lead Terryman to be severely injured, as such Kinnikuman touches Terryman and tags into the ring. Kinnikuman forces his knee into the Liar's Mouth to stop it from crushing Terryman. He drags Terryman out of the Liar's Mouth, and Moaidon attempts a Rock Smash, which Kinnikuman evades. This is followed by expelling flatulence on Moaidon's face, and then a Pants Driver on Ortega. Kinnikuman delivers a set of horizontal chops to Moaidon, and the Carpet Bombings exchange a series of blows with Kinnikuman, until they force him to use his left arm, which knocks away the bandanna and reopens his wound.

The open gash on Kinnikuman's arm reveals there is no bone inside. The Carpet Bombings focus their attacks on Kinnikuman's left arm, as he uses the bandanna again as a tourniquet, and Moaidon uses a Iguazu Terror again. This leads them to use a Machu Pichu Crash. They place Kinnikuman into the Liar's Mouth, at which point he asks the following questions to Kinnikuman and Kinnikuman answers as follows:

Do you think your mask is ugly? Yes.

Did you wet the bed until you were eighteen? Yes.

Is it true you don't trust the New Generation? Yes.

Do you hate Mantaro most of all? Yes.

The Liar's Mouth closes on all answers except for the final question about hating Mantaro. Kinnikuman continues to assert he will never recognise Mantaro as his son, to which Meat speculates the Liar's Mouth goes off the truth deep in your heart and not what you believe to be true, so - deep down - Kinnikuman does not hate Mantaro. Mantaro shouts advice to Kinnikuman, which enables him to escape the Liar's Mouth, except for his left arm that is trapped inside. Ortega continues to attack Kinnikuman, until the bone in his arm starts to grow back.

Mantaro explains the bone is growing back due to the pressure of the Liar's Mouth acting as a form of pressurisation training, and that Kinnikuman's chojin heritage is amplifying its effects. Kinnikuman uses his Burning Inner Strength to throw Moaidon to the canvas, at which point his wound closes, and Terryman tags himself into the match. Terryman takes Moaidon in a Texas Clover Hold, while Kinnikuman takes Ortega in a compact hold, but they are thrown as Moaidon uses a Moai Doai Merikov. Ortega tries an Atonement Awl, while Terryman uses a Texas Twister, and this is followed by Kinnikuman using a Muscle Lariat.

Kinnikuman uses a Kinniku Buster on Ortega, and Terryman uses a Kinniku Driver on Moaidon. The Machineguns combine their techniques to use the Muscle Docking. Ortega falls from the Andes ring, followed by Moaidon, and the chairperson calls the match in the Machineguns' favour. The Carpet Bombings are then taken away on stretchers. Terryman and Kinnikuman celebrate with Natsuko and Bibimba respectively, until Mantaro tries to congratulate Kinnikuman. Kinnikuman rejects him, claiming that the Liar's Mouth was broken and he still hates Mantaro, and Mantaro responds by that he will never call Kinnikuman 'Father' again, as he leaves.

Semi-Finals

The tug-of-war match-up occurs on the 13th of May, 1983.

He stays with Kinnikuman in their waiting room, until ushered out by Bibimba. Just as everyone gives up hope that Kinnikuman will make it out on time, Kinnikuman exits the waiting-room and presents Terryman with his Texan hat and seems in perfect health. They perform the tug-of-war and are assigned the Muscle Brothers Nouveau as their opponents during the semi-final match.

The match starts ten minutes later.

Terryman enters the ring with Kinnikuman in perfect unison. After Kinnikuman declares a 'mask versus mask' death-match, he takes the lead and Terryman stands on the sides. He is later tagged into the match, where they are able to attack Mantaro together with tag-moves, which culminates in a Guillotine Drop. Chaos soon tags in and after attacking Terryman, works with Mantaro to attack Kinnikuman, and it is then Terryman notices the Demon Hourglass is still on Kinnikuman's chest.

Terry the Kid begs him to throw in the towel, which causes Terryman to notice that Mantaro's leg is starting to disappear, and - only revealing the Machineguns never bring towels to matches - Terry the Kid throws into the ring the Great Texan Hat. Terryman then turns against Kinnikuman, by provoking him and insulting him, which causes the sand in his Demon Hourglass to rise to the top; Terryman has worked out that inspiring Kinnikuman to hate him with cause the Iron Sweat, which will amplify the magnetic powers of his mask, and this will draw the sands of the hourglass upwards. This breaks the curse and saves him.

Mantaro tags in Chaos, who protects him from Kinnikuman's advances. After Chaos takes the lead, he learns about the value of teamwork and tags Mantaro back into the m Mantaro is taken into a Kamehame Lock, but distracts Kinnikuman by undoing the strings to his mask, and takes him into a Sleeper Hold. After Kinnikuman gains the upper-hand, Mantaro breaks his finger to escape the hold and uses a Kilaeau Stretch, and proceeds to throw Mantaro from the War Cube.

Kinnikuman saves him just in time, and both partners are tagged into the match. The Muscle Brothers Nouveau use a Double Shoulder Buster on the Machineguns. The Machineguns counter with a Muscle Docking, but - due to Kinnikuman's fatigue it is not at full power. Mantaro flashes back to his youth, and he uses his father's advice to break free from an attack, before using a Skull Campana with Chaos.

After an exchange of blows, Mantaro saves Kinnikuman from falling out of the War-Cube. They continue with an evenly matched match, until Kinnikuman attempts another Muscle Docking. Mantaro unleashes his Fire of Inner Strength and successfully counters the move. Despite Kinnikuman also channelling his Fire, Mantaro and Chaos defeat them using the Muscle Evolution. Both teams are knocked to the mat, starting a countdown, but Mantaro and Chaos stand in time to be declared the winners.

The Machineguns proceeds to rest, while watching the Five Disasters vs. Nova Hell Expansions.

Post-Tournament

They are both there to witness Muscle Brothers Nouveau win the tournament, which saves Alisa's life and by extension Kevin Mask's life. This ends the arc.

Under the auspices of NATO's Partnership for Peace program, Exercise Joint REBUKER (Response Battlegroup for Ukraine and Eastern Romania) is an annual multilateral training regimen meant to consolidate or recall forces from Europe and the Near East for the defense of Kyiv. Joint REBUKER was established in 2019--three years after the short-lived invasion of Ukraine by Romania and the non-state Black Cross terror group--as a means of deterrence aimed at the signatories of the Novi Sad Declaration (i.e. Yugoslavia, Romania, and Hungary) who retain revanchist and expansionist claims on Ukraine. Hence, Joint REBUKER predominantly consists of maneuver exercises meant to heighten allied trust in interoperability and the capacity for NATO to respond to threats on its doorstep--the latter being of great import following NATO's inability to respond to the Russian Civil War due to attrition and overstretch.

With this in mind, one can see in the image above four international tank crews hailing from Ukraine, Germany (representing the intra-NATO Armed Forces of Central Europe [ZEUS, Zentral-Europäische Streitkräftethe]), the United States, and the United Kingdom. During Joint REBUKER 2026, Britain simulated an entrenched opposing force (OPFOR) that had to be ousted by newly-arrived coalition forces. For this reason, the OPFOR emphasized camouflage and ambush tactics not dissimilar from those employed by the Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia. The tripartite faction of Ukraine, Germany, and the US managed to utilize superior intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) assets in the air to sniff out the dastardly Brits, though not before sustaining numerous casualties themselves. The overarching lesson (re)learned was the necessity for special forces to capitalize on bountiful ISR by triggering and disrupting enemy encampments before heavier allied forces strike the OPFOR's softened underbelly.

Anyhow, as depicted above, the various Joint REBUKER crews seem intent on engaging in rather stereotypical behavior: The Ukrainians are forced to tinker with their machine due to mechanical failures produced from budget constraints; the Germans, masters of orderliness, intently polish their vehicle to presentable standards once more; the Americans begin skottling to liberate their voracious stomachs from hunger; and the Brits are taking the piss whilst enjoying a cuppa. Naturally, the Nordic Defense Council was set to participate in the Joint REBUKER exercise, but a mixture of Scandinavian asociality and logistical delays denied them of the privilege. Sometimes the world is a silly and predictable place.

I've been wanting to do a Top Hat portrait at Guys Cliffe house since I saw it from a distance during a Christmas meal with my Mum in December. There's so much history and legend associated with this house which has been standing derelict since my Mum was a child.

My high-school friend Hazel and I tried several ways of getting in to the ground secretly before discovering that the front gates were open. Doh! We did get some shots on some beautiful stone steps outside the ruins but this one was my absolute favourite.

I'll try and summarise the story for you, but for more details see here:

www.guyscliffehouse.co.uk/history-of-guys-cliffe-house/

The story goes that Guy of Warwick was a cup bearer who fell in love with an Earl's daughter; Felice. Because of his lowly status his advances were rebuked and he set off to undertake many brave deeds to achieve fame and fortune. Eventually she was his but during the honeymoon, Guy realised that to be truly happy he must find peace with God. So, he set off again leaving Felice (pregnant) behind.

He returned many years later when his son was grown up and Felice was a much-loved Countess. Instead of going back to his wife, he lived in a cave with a hermit for 2 years. Eventually a messenger told Felice of Guy's return and she went to find him at the cave where he died in her arms. Two weeks afterwards, she threw herself from the cliff above his cave in grief.

Phew... what a story! More recently, Granada TV filmed at the derelict house in 1992 for The Last Vampyre and a fire got out of hand and gutted the building.

The bullet entered her jaw, went through her skull, and exited out her eye socket. As it traveled through skin and bone, something unusual happened. The cells and fibers didn't rupture, burst, or shatter; they transformed and became verdant. Roots took hold and rapidly filled surrounding capillaries. Stems burst forth with a stupendous flourish. Leaves soon grew out of the stocks, and immediately after emerged plump buds. Just as quickly as the bullet left its chamber, flowers blossomed and stretched towards the sun.

Reality changed. Death was rebuked and life triumphed, only life persisted in an entirely new form. A weapon of expunction fertilized the soil of her flesh, and the fabric that was her body became woven into the earth where she lay. When the last echo of the shot faded, she had transformed into an exquisite garden, never again to walk but forever to be marveled upon." -M.D. Walter
