What Resort Is Your Favorite?

The first resort I went to after I moved here was the majestic Grand Floridian. I had to see how it compared to my favorite Grand Californian which I frequented while living there in Anaheim and even after. This resort is a stark contrast to that of the Californian. The Floridian is overly posh. I love the white and pristine feel to it. This one feels like a place that those elite of the 1930's would come for a vacation after making their millions. Much like how the Californian places you in an over-sized cabin with cozy fireplace, the Floridian sets you up for a day at the beach or relaxing to the sounds of the piano player play classical pieces for a full immersive experience.

I wish to spend more time in each of the many resorts here on Disney Property. They all have their own personality. The question is, which one next? So far I have been impressed by the theming and the atmosphere. I'll be sure to post what I get from each one. It get's hard to pick a picture of the day from so many pictures taken. For the record I have enough for a couple of months now, but I don't like to place things too close together. As is, you fans of the Hollywood Studios are probably very mad at me right now that I haven't got anything for you yet. YET! Coming soon.

What is your favorite thing about the Backlot Tour?

With the many things available to do and see in Disney's Hollywood Studios, one of the things that I think is really fun but not well advertised is the Backlot Tour. It's kinda shoved back in a corner of Studios where people don't go very often. Sure there is a restaurant area and the Streets of America, but even then the cast members that stand as sentries don't seem to want more people to enjoy...

Which attractions will you wait over 50 minutes for?

The attraction that has the longest line ever in all of Disney's Hollywood Studios is Toy Story Midway Mania. The ride here in Florida is exactly the same as Califronia's, but the queue here is over the top as a great way to spend your time. Standing in this line really shrinks you down to size and get's you ready to play with the toys of the beloved Pixar movie series, Toy Story 1, 2, and 3. These movies I love so much and playing a game with...

Which icon is your favorite?

When I get to each park, there is a central icon that draws the attention. For Magic Kingdom, it's the Castle. For Hollywood Studios, it's the Hat. For Animal Kingdom, it's the Tree. But for EPCOT, it's the "Golf Ball"! I'm not sure which is my favorite, but I can say easily it's not the Hat in Hollywood Studios. Maybe because they keep putting some sort of stage in front of it to see it properly. The EPCOT Globe which holds Spaceship Earth is...

Have you tried this place?

This place is on the top of my bucket list for restaurants in Hollywood Studios and maybe in all of the parks. A friend of mine wanted to get a small group, sit in the corner and play a game called Fiasco. It would have been a great time, but she decided that her Disney career was done early. I miss her. The Brown Derby has a feel of a classy joint that would have fit well in the new revamp of California Adventure, but I have to admit Carthay Circle is one amazing place to eat...

im not entirely sure how i feel about this one...

another attempt at HDR but the jumble of branches in the background was soo ewww. and the white house a major distraction. so i added the zoom blur. not sure if it helped or if i made it worse lol..

Have you eaten at the Yak & Yeti?

I feel that too many people come to the parks with the hopes to make it on all of the rides and catch a few shows here and there while they let their feet rest from the hours of walking and standing. It can be a sad thought when you miss out on some of the best stories and artistry. When we rush from ride to show, and even from those to the place we decided to eat, we miss out on...

What areas has the best lights?

I've been asked to get this picture for a friend of mine. I would have taken it anyway, but here it is a bit sooner than I would have posted it. I love the lights in Animal Kingdom. These ones here feature the animals of the logo for Animal Kingdom. I do wonder if they will change everything with the expansion of Pandora later or if they will bring in dragons into Pandora to justify if being on the logo. The Spanish Moss here seems to...

Can you tell me why this is an impossible shot?

I was out with some friends taking pictures and exploring EPCOT when they decided to get out of the pending rain to visit Spaceship Earth. While we were standing at the entrance and talking to the cast members, I turned around and saw this. These mirrors had a great view of the wait time sign as well an extended view of the pattern that engulfs the ride itself...

What is your favorite Pavilion?

The other day, I was with some friends killing time before our performances for the Candlelight show with Neil Patrick Harris. One of my friends turns to me and says, the sky looks great for a photo. I happen to have my camera with me and so I stepped into this little area next to Morocco and set up shop. I took quite a few shots and different angles. I didn't want to miss this and I wanted...

What do you recommend to eat here?

I used my own advice the other day while walking around Animal Kingdom. Go in a restaurant before they open and get some great shots of it empty. Sure enough at around 10:00 am the park was getting packed with people, but the Yak-n-Yeti was completely empty. They didn't open for another hour. This place has such an amazing interior. I'm not sure where I would want to sit while eating here, but I can tell you it's most likely upstairs...

The great and impressive Daibutsu of Kamakura. He survived a tsunami which washed away everything around him.

The guy on the left kept shaking his head. I don't know if he was amazed or just plain bored. The lady sat very still throughout the 3 exposures that ultimately made up this shot. She must have really enjoyed the view.

Where in the parks would you go to eat breakfast?

Continuing from yesterday's post on breakfast, I thought I'd post this fun shot of France. Back in the back, there is a little cafe. The smells that come from this area are heavenly. This shot was taken without a tripod on one of my first days here in Walt Disney World. I got into EPCOT about 30 minutes before the park opened and started getting shots of places. Being the first time in EPCOT I went straight for the World Showcase and realized that not all of it opened with the park. So while waiting for it to open, I went to the parts that were open to take a couple of shots. One of the places that is open is France. Here I came upon a woman eating her breakfast and going over paperwork. This transported me directly back to the two years I spend in Switzerland over 10 years ago. I missed the smells and the people. No matter the size of the city, breakfast in Europe always has a quaint little town village.

By the way, I want to thank all of you who are liking this page on facebook and especially to those who use the photos and share them with friends and family. We just hit over 100 likes and things are going up. Thank you!

What is your favorite Disney World Queue?

Still to this day there is one thing that Walt Disney World has that Disneyland does not... Room to Queue! And with that room, imagineers have designed some of the most elaborate and lovely queues. Some interactive, some educational, but all great to look at. The next thing I'm assuming they'll start doing is adding more things to make you hungry as you wait in line. I know hunger took...

Can you see the Hidden Mickey?

If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times EPCOT has the most photogenic areas in the "World". Of all the places in the World Showcase, I love the attention to detail that Morocco has to offer. Rumor has it, the royalty of Morocco had natives come over to help build it. I don't doubt it one bit. The work in this area is exquisite. This is one of my favorite areas in Morocco. I love the Mosaic Tessellation. It's work like this that...

Have you eaten at the Jiko Restaurant?

In one of my latest adventures after work, I decided to go not too far from Animal Kingdom. I went to Animal Kingdom Lodge to check out more of this amazing building. Next to that amazing stairway I took a shot of, are two restaurants, Boma and Jiko. Jiko is a classy place with an amazing menu. I walked in while people were just finishing up and the staff were still...

Do you get elaborate masks for Mardi Gras?

In Italy, one of my favorite stops is the Mask Shop. The ornate artistry from this third party vendor fit in perfectly with the spirit of Disney. I had a chance to speak with the Italians tending to this store and found them to be some of the most happy and friendly people I've met in my life. I love the Italians and it reminded me of my time in...

Do you "Fall" in love with the Magic Kingdom Decorations?

Once again I was kicked out of the Magic Kingdom. Security was tight after the park had been extended an hour. I didn't want the extension. It meant that I would be leaving the park later than expected and that most people wouldn't be as nice as they usually are at the end of the night for photographers with tripods. Although, the plus side meant that no one else would be lingering in my shots...

Is this show better than Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular?

The last time I came to Studios, I decided to go and see this show. I couldn't wait. It had just started to sprinkle as I got in line and thought nothing of it. Then off in the background I could see some amazing flashes and about 30 seconds later and loud boom cracked over head. The rain got more intense, the booms got closer, and the flashes more brilliant. We still moved in...

What was your best cast member experience?

With it being Walt Disney World's birthday I thought I'd pay tribute to the true reason the parks are such a success. The Cast Members. Not just because I am one, but even when I was a guest for my very first time, it wasn't the rides that captured my heart, it was the whole experience. It was the cast that brought Walt's vision to life and made it what it is today. Cybil here was just one of the many cast members I've met since moving here. Her bright smile and...

Is Dino-Rama too cheesy and low budget for Disney?

Before coming to Disney World and even before finding out where I was going to be working, I was talking to a friend of mine about the many differences of Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Yes, i used photoshop. Last Rebel - i call my car. And in this photo i tried to show it's spirit.

An HDR photo taken at the Fairport Harbor lighthouse.

The original lighthouse was completed in 1825. The tower stood thirty feet high, capped with an octagonal-shaped iron lantern. The lighthouse was accompanied by a two-story keeper's house.Due to deterioration the tower and keeper's house had to be replaced. Rebuilt in 1871, the tower now stands sixty feet high and has a spiral staircase of 69 steps which leads to an observation platform. In 1925 the light in the tower (a third-order Fresnel lens) was discontinued. It was replaced by a combination light and foghorn station which was built on the west breakwater pier head. (http://www.ncweb.com/org/fhlh/)
