41 Squadron Tornado hammers through the valleys of Snowdonia. A great sight that is sadly missed.

Here is a (slightly) updated look at my Tantive IV MOC. The model is just shy of 10k pieces and is somewhere around 3 feet long in real life. The original was designed by me some years ago, and I am intending to do a ground-up redesign soon since a lot of useful pieces have been introduced. As for instructions, since I get a lot of comments about them, I can't in good conscience release instructions for a model I haven't built in real life. While the internal structure is similar to the Saturn IV set (actually that's what inspired the model, see the neck), I can't 100% guarantee the stability until I build it in real life. At 10k pieces, it's not really on the immediate horizon to be built either. Basically there may be instructions eventually but no time soon. As for scale the model is nowhere near minifigure scale, but considerably bigger than play-scale so we will call it "plus scale" or something. Oh and yes, you guys may prefer a dark red color instead of the standard red, but not only do the macaroni curved corner pieces not exist in dark red, from what I can tell the brighter red is more accurate according to A New Hope. I hope you enjoy and if there are any improvements you guys would like to see for the version 2 let me know!

This is a minifig-scale model of "The Phantom", the shuttle from the TV series "Star Wars Rebels". It's about a foot long and has a full interior, with working hatches at the rear and on the underside.

Many thanks to Ryan McBryde for letting me use his nose and cockpit design - and also for his help and suggestions in creating this model.

I also have a thread for this model on Eurobricks:

Update: Many, many thanks to monekypaws for making the instrctions available for free on rebrickable - link here.

This page contains both a step-by-step set of instructions and a parts list. The details section contains a list of rare parts to check before attempting a build.

Shout out to my bud Neil Ta, whose visits to Detoi always produce thought provoking images (and remind me to check my archives). Keep up the great work, man, and thanks for the awesome Lego camera. :)

The Troopers on Hoth wore a white or beige shirt and pants, along with matching tan and white caps with ear flaps, and could carry goggles when necessary. Troopers in the field and not in the safety of Echo Base often wore a similar variant as those in the hangar but instead had more of a white and grey coloring, along with white Alliance Cold Weather Backpacks

This picture goes with a song by Lauryn Hill called "I find it hard to say (Rebel)".

Lyrics by L. Hill:

I find it hard to say, that everything is alright

Don't look at me that way, like everything is alright

Cuz my own eyes can see, through all your false pretenses

But what you fail to see, is all the consequences

You think our lives are cheap, and easy to be wasted

As history repeats, so foul you can taste it

And while the people sleep, too comfortable to face it

His life so incomplete, and nothing can replace it

And while the people sleep, too comfortable to face it

Your lives so incomplete, and nothing can replace it

Fret not thyself I say, against these laws of man

Cuz like the Bible says, His blood is on their hands

And what I gotta say, and what I gotta say, is rebel

While today is still today, choose well

And what I gotta say, is rebel, it can't go down this way

Choose well, choose well, choose well...

...choose well, choose well, choose well

And while the people sleep, too comfortable to face it

Your lives are so incomplete, and nothing, and no one, can replace it

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no

And what I gotta say, and what I gotta say

And what I gotta say, and what I gotta say

And what I gotta say, and what I gotta say

And what I gotta say, and what I gotta say

Is rebel... rebel, rebel, rebel, rebel, rebel, rebel

Rebel, rebel, rebel, rebel, rebel

Repent, the day is far too spent, rebel... rebel!

Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up...

Wake up and rebel

We must destroy in order to rebuild

Wake up, you might as well

Oh are you... oh are you satisfied

Oh are you satisfied

Rebel... ohhh rebel

Why don't you rebel, why don't you rebel?

Why don't you rebel?

The Rebel Patriot is the most complex figure we have ever printed to date!

The figure took a total of 79 processes to complete, including 14 prints in 10 different colors on the front torso alone!

By comparison, our previous champion, the Golden Sentry, had 63 processes.

We hope you like this figure as much as we do!

These Rebel trooper are trained to fight in snowy planets. Although they mainly use their guns, they have been knew to threw snowballs at imperial forces. They were mainly used in the rebels second base on Hoth. They turned out to be great fighters, killing the imperial scouts with ease. The main attack force proved trickier, many rebels were squished under the feet of AT-AT's. The battle of Hoth was a disaster for the rebels.

Thought it was about time for another update. So of course I take this pic right before I finish the new sets. Anyway as seen is the majority of my rebel ships not included are the smaller vehicles and wips

The aircraft Cavalier F-51D Mustang "Miss Rebel," registration LN-BMU, is a North American P-51D with a complex and storied history. It was originally built during WWII, later rebuilt by Cavalier Aircraft in 1968 for export to El Salvador, and eventually returned to the civilian airshow circuit.

WWII origins (1944–1945)

The airframe was originally constructed as a P-51D Mustang sometime between 1944 and 1945, with the USAAF serial number 44-10753.

The aircraft's early service history is largely unknown. Its USAAF serial number was reassigned to the airframe when it returned to the US years later.

It is important to note that the Miss Rebel name and paint scheme it now carries represent the aircraft of Captain Oran Watts of the 23rd Fighter Group in China during WWII, not the original identity of this specific airframe.

Cavalier rebuild and military service (1968–1974)

In 1968, the aircraft was acquired by Cavalier Aircraft Corporation in Sarasota, Florida. Cavalier specialized in modifying and refurbishing surplus P-51s for civilian and military use.

Cavalier rebuilt the Mustang into a Mark 2 ground attack fighter for the Salvadoran Air Force, giving it the new designation F-51D. The modifications included a taller vertical fin, stronger wings, additional hardpoints for ordnance, and wingtip fuel tanks.

The aircraft was delivered to El Salvador and served as FAS 405. It participated in the 1969 "Football War" between El Salvador and Honduras, one of the last conflicts where piston-engine fighters fought each other.

Return to civilian life and airshow circuit (1974–present)

After its military career, the aircraft was sold to a private owner and returned to the US in 1974.

It later received the Norwegian civil registration LN-BMU and entered the European airshow circuit.

The aircraft's military-style taller tail was eventually removed to make its profile more historically accurate for its WWII P-51D lineage.

Today, LN-BMU is operated by Biltema Logistics AB and appears at airshows across Europe, including the Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow in September 2025.
