This was built as an entry for a contest run by KLUG. The brief demanded a craft fit to carry at least four minifigs in their quest to colonize the galaxy.
I played a bit loose with the rules with this scout transport that carries all the necessary supplies to set up a temporary base on some distant moon or planet before signaling to Rebel HQ for reinforcements.
The design is inspired by Rogue One concept art from @ryanchurchart for the U-wing. I’ve tried to present my LEGO version as it can be seen in the Art of Rogue One book compiled by @philszostaksf
I have to say thanks to Inthert as his U-wing instructions really jump started this project with the troop bay design.
Jake RF and his U-wing project really helped inform a lot of the wing structure on this thing too.
Among the many members of the Rebellion even were some former elite soldiers and mercenaries. Some of the came from the military of their respective home world, which had fallen to the empire, others were former members of Rahm Kota's militia, which fought in the Clone Wars. Together they formed the elite squadron of the Rebel Alliance, tasked with attacks on high value imperial targets or against all odds rescue missions.

Made these for a fig-off against The Bricktor. They are mostly inspired by Rahm Kota's militia seen in The Force Unleashed.
A rare, yet still mostly ignored by collectors, 1967 AMC Rebel, awaiting the final crush at Pearsonville, April 2010. Another lost demo image no one's ever seen until now. 2 minutes of full moon with xenon flashlight and blue gelled something inside.
Tried some Sam Adams Rebel Grapefruit IPA. It's not nearly as good as the grapefruit IPA that Perrin puts out, but it's decent.

So yeah, Rebels is awesome, and Hera's ship is one of the Coolest in Star Wars... I don't think I'm really up to building a Minifig Scale Ghost, But more then happy to make The Phantom... Very happy with the end result. I did take a lot of inspiration from other Phantom MOC's out there on Flickr, so props to those guys. You can of course expect more Ship and Landing pad MOC's like this in future, it was a fun concept to do!

The third phase of Steel City Lug's Battle at the Beach display is The Empire Invades. For this phase, I built a little vignette showing an underground bunker where the rebels are planning their defense strategy while the battle rages on above.

Highest tides in the world
Burntcoat Head had a public wharf that has been the location of a tide gauge since the 19th century. The tide gauge at Burntcoat Head was operated by the Canadian Hydrographic Service and has recorded the highest tidal range in the world. Currently, the tidal gauge is no longer in operation. Tides at Burntcoat Head average 55.8 ft (17.0 m), with the highest being set during the 1869 Saxby Gale at 70.9 ft (21.6 m).
The Guinness Book of World Records (1975) declared that Burntcoat had the highest tides in the world:
“The Natural World, Greatest Tides: The greatest tides in the world occur in the Bay of Fundy.... Burntcoat Head in the Minas Basin, Nova Scotia, has the greatest mean spring range with 14.5 metres (47.5 feet) and an extreme range of 16.3 metres (53.5 feet).”
The National Geographic magazine (August 1957) also made a similar assertion: “The famous tides of the Bay of Fundy move with deceptive quiet. Sheltered from the open sea, they ebb and flood to a recorded range unequal in the rest of the world.”
Like pretty much every place along the ocean around the world, Burntcoat Head experiences two high tides and two low tides each day. The Bay of Fundy fills and empties with approximately 160 billion tonnes of water twice a day. On average it takes 6 hours and 13 minutes between high and low tide. As soon as the tide has reached it lowest or highest point it will change directions and either begin to come to shore or flow back out. Each day the tides times will change approximately by one hour. The reason why the tides fills and empties the Bay of Fundy each day is due to gravitational pull of the moon and the sun on the earth, as well as earths rotation.

Sometimes, Rebel pilots have problems with their X-Wings and they are just too far away of the Rebel Fleet to receive assistance in time. In such cases, other pilots comes to the rescue.
This figure is inspired by the Rogue One designs and a Vietnam War era uniform. The skull on the helmet is a reference to Straight To Hell by The Clash. Enjoy!

I even seem to humanise some!
