The AgustaWestland CH-149 Cormorant is the Canadian Forces designation for the AgustaWestland AW101 (formerly EH101), a helicopter used for air-sea rescue in Canada. Developed as a joint venture between Westland Aircraft in the UK and Agusta in Italy (now merged as Leonardo), the CH-149 is a medium-lift helicopter for military applications.

The aircraft was delivered new to the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) in 1962 -
used by No. 417 Squadron at CFB Cold Lake, Alberta. Later used as instructional air-frame 876C from 10 August 1987, also marked 210AC for Aircraft Battle Damage Repair training. In storage at CFD Mountain View, Ontario in February 1995. On display on pedestal at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton, Ontario from 2000.

Transports of the Royal Canadian Air Force were regular at Gatwick, operating into Europe as well as to North America,
I recall seeing Dakotas, Bristol170, Hercules and Canadair Yukons as well as these Boeings. Also I once saw a DHC Caribou flying over not far from Guildford. They had some Convair Liners too, but I never saw one.
They replaced the Yukons (a Bristol Britannia derivative) with five Boeing 707s which were originally ordered by the US carrier Western Airlines. This one is 13701.
