It was as if the sky was reaching for something.

Early this morning, when I was going to work, I captured this ray of light.

My car stereo was playing Gabriel's oboe, from Ennio Morricone's soundtrack of The Mission movie, one of the best ever (www.youtube.com/watch?v=oag1Dfa1e_E).

For whom was this ray of sunshine, I ask myself?

Then, I felt as I was a part of a whole, along with human beings, plants, animals and all the beautiful inanimate things that are everywhere.

No matter of race, color, gender, beliefs.

It was for everyone.

"Ray of Light:" I took this image about 4 months ago and finally revisited my archives and got around to posting it. Hope you enjoy!

Leaving the Cable Car's lofty terminus (Previous photo) I headed off down the path, heading for the Rose Gardens way below.

As the path weaved and twisted steeply down the hill (It was much steeper than the path I'd followed up to the Terminus!) it entered a small stand of native bush (i.e. forest).

With the sunlight all but blocked by the towering canopy, it was suddenly rather dim, but as the path rounded a sharp bend, these rays of light (above) filtered through the towering tree tops...

I probably wont be on Flickr tomorrow or Saturday; I've got some work to complete before Sunday (Our minister is not well), I'm out for dinner tomorrow night, and there's a big Family gathering at "The Fisherman's Table" restaurant on Saturday. (I believe someone is celebrating a bit of a scary milestone birthday!).

I love these rays from the clouds soon after sunrise on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I saw them one morning and ran out to take a picture. I also liked the fisherman looking out to sea waiting for fish.

Haven't felt much like going out after the events in Paris, but looking out of the window this afternoon I briefly saw a sundog in the sky. Perhaps a sign of hope for the future.....?

At first I thought this was a Manta Ray, but after a little research I realized it was, in fact, a type of Stingray called a Bat Ray. It lacks the cephalic lobes/flaps at the front of its head which only the Manta rays have.

There are actually two stingrays in this image, the second one is below and in the background :)

I had the privilege of visiting the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago on April 8th, 2016, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Dramatic Crepuscular Rays through a dying storm in northern Oklahoma.
