This was Michigan Ave. this afternoon under a steady drizzle. We drove around after a hearty lunch in Chinatown looking something interesting to shoot. My camera dials must have been moved inside the bag as this shot was so underexposed. Thank God for RAW files, I was able to salvage it somehow in LR. This was shot from the passenger seat and I was playing with manual focus while the wife was driving.

ALOHA ALL.

Taken at Keiki's Beach Oahu, Hawaii. This beach is famous is for its' massive shore break during the winter season which can reach up to 20-30 ft. Even on small 1-2 ft days the raw power of this break can drag you out or even break your neck/back. Be aware, there is no stationary lifeguard tower in the area. They do patrol once every 20-30 min. This beach is also known as the beach Clark Little captures his amazing shore break pictures.

This photo was shot against a black backdrop with a remote flash (Nikon SB-800 with Gary Fong's Lightshpere) off to the left and the camera's on-board flash bounced from the ceiling. All processing but the text and frame (done in CS3) were done using Adobe Lightroom. It was shot raw.

All equipment l used is listed in the tags.

Hello Folks,

Repeatedly, I see our friends having problems understanding and making the best use of Raw Conversion. There is actually a lot that can be done, while converting a raw file. If you can make the best of the tools available, you actually don't need to do much in post processing at all.

This was done in Photoshop CS2. I may at some point do a similar interface tutorial for CS3 if the interest level happened to be high enough.

So, I've finally decided to enter a "Next Top Model" contest, namely because there's finally one where we won't see masses of editing! Yay! Plus, since Elliot was my first doll since I started collecting as an adult, she was definitely my first choice to enter. Plus she's loosely based on a good friend of mine, so it's nice to have a bit of inspiration.

Name: Elliot Adams

Age: 23

Hometown: Manchester, United Kingdom.

Employer: Student, studying a BA Hons Degree in Creative Writing & English Literature.

Aspirations: Although modelling isn't her first choice of careers, it's something she's always been curious about. She usually doesn't believe her friends and family when they tell her that she has the potential, but after being pestered for months, she's finally given in. Her long-term dream has always been to be a Lecturer focusing on helping adults with learning difficulties (But this might be a bit of fun along the way).

Bio: Elliot is a very reserved person, who likes to keep herself to herself, she's never been one for being surrounded by a massive group of friends, she'd much rather just have a couple of closer mates, just to chill with.

As previously mentioned, she has little self-belief and doesn't realise what potential she really has.
