Sometimes you feel bad if you eat your art. But I ate these and didn't feel one bit bad!! 98 cents at Kroger and worth every penny. :-)
I'm totally infatuated with yeast-leaven cakes now, especially ones with German or Austrian roots. This raspberry kuchen/coffee cake embraces all that is nice about summer with the bright tart taste of raspberries (tiny intensely flavoured ones!). The butter and turbinado sugar topping along with the simple lemon icing gave the airy cake an unexpected counterpoint.
Recipe of the famed Grand Central Bakery in Seattle and Portland. I'm totally ordering their cookbook. Online version of the recipe is available at Serious Eats. Read more at Dessert By Candy.

We had these for dessert, and noticing the little hairs I kept the last two to take a macro picture. My lovely other half who has resigned himself with having an ever photographing wife thought this was an exceptionally weird photo subject :-)
Am only now noticing that the second one is cut off rather abruptly and distractingly on white :-(
When we stopped to take a few photos of the view, we found scrubby little raspberries growing alongside the road. Yum!

Cranberry juice, triple sec, vodka, lime juice, and raspberries. Nov 2011.
24-05-2010. Today, I am revising for my English Literature exam tomorrow. I've also done some Chemistry. In the breaks I've been listening to music and decided to have some ice cream or yoghurt, whilst looking in the freezer I found some frozen raspberries. I thought they'd be fun to photograph. They're also super nice to eat frozen! Hope you're all enjoying the sun. <3
Single off camera speedlite from camera right and reflector at left for fill. Raspberry was supported from below with a thin metal rod (a.k.a. coathanger).
Others in my Strobist Fruit set.
These tarts got an enthusiastic two thumbs up in the Vanherdehaage house.
