The Rape of Persephone (Italian: Ratto di Proserpina) is a large Baroque marble sculptural group by Italian artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini, executed between 1621 and 1622.
Bernini was only 23 years old at its completion. It depicts the abduction of Persephone, who is seized and taken to the underworld by the god Hades.

This is the footpath I mentioned in an earlier post (Rape Reflections) As you can see it is a bit wet!! But I have a good pair of boots so my feet stayed nice and dry :-)
I returned here 2 days after the previous shot, half hoping to get a sunset. I wasn't disappointed! :-))))))
One of my favourite footpaths near my house cuts across many fields. Each year there is usually at least one field where oil seed rape is grown, and this year is no exception. After all this rain there is a lot of water about! This isn't the actual footpath, it's one of the tractor tracks filled with water. Although the footpath was not a lot drier! Let's just say my boots and trousers were rather muddy afterwards!!! :-)

I shot this tighter version of the falls from a little different angle. I like the silvery tone the photo has. I took two shots at this angle, one with the polarizer and one with it very minimal. This is with it on minimal, I think that is what contributes to the silvery tone and gives emphasis to where the water rolls over the edge of the rock..more reflection was captured.

No one should accept rape; everyone should oppose rape.
Unfortunately, "real men" do accept rape.
I think the "real men do not let men rape" message was a way of advocating a different form of masculinity -- in opposition to other forms of masculine aggression (from guys who nevertheless are "real men"), or the the acceptance of that aggression.
In other words, I think the "real men do not let men rape" message was a challenge to certain aspects of mainstream masculinity.

words that can be interpreted as either a pro-rape message, or an anti-men message.
