I shot this tighter version of the falls from a little different angle. I like the silvery tone the photo has. I took two shots at this angle, one with the polarizer and one with it very minimal. This is with it on minimal, I think that is what contributes to the silvery tone and gives emphasis to where the water rolls over the edge of the rock..more reflection was captured.

No one should accept rape; everyone should oppose rape.

Unfortunately, "real men" do accept rape.

I think the "real men do not let men rape" message was a way of advocating a different form of masculinity -- in opposition to other forms of masculine aggression (from guys who nevertheless are "real men"), or the the acceptance of that aggression.

In other words, I think the "real men do not let men rape" message was a challenge to certain aspects of mainstream masculinity.

That anti-rape flyer was modified to read "real men do rape" --

words that can be interpreted as either a pro-rape message, or an anti-men message.

Another sheet about respecting women was taped up nearby (in a much more visible location) --

until that other sheet was quickly torn down.

I have posted about that flyer and the Flickr comments posted below here -

In that post I have linked to four other posts (at other blogs)

about this flyer.

However, fans of England's green and pleasant land should not despair. Burnett says oilseed rape has probably been more visible this year because it has flowered for almost twice its normal length of time - eight weeks, instead of four - as a cold and wet April and May stopped flowers developing and dying at their normal rate.

And hay fever sufferers should take some comfort from a recent medical research council Institute for Environmental Health report into its allergenicity.

"[It] has a large pollen grain but it doesn't move very far. To get serious amount of pollen from rapeseed oil you'd have to actually walk through the crops," says Gagen.

I was trying to resist the rape this year.

After two weeks of its honey sweet pungence taunting me I succumbed willingly in a field.

Does that mean it isn't rape?!

"Oilseed rape"

It's about this time of year that huge swathes of the local countryside are given over to the crop of oilseed rape. The colour is undoubtably stunning and the masses of yellow fields certainly looked extremely striking when I flew in to Stansted on Sunday.

I have had several attempts at doing some sort of PAD for the past 3 or 4 years and have yet to capture the yellow beauty of this time of year. I think some of the crops are starting to tail off now, so I felt the need to snap this as time is running out! It isn't the location I planned, rather a hasty pull in on my way home from sorting Mum's post. So, I may yet take another some time..............
