The Rape of Persephone (Italian: Ratto di Proserpina) is a large Baroque marble sculptural group by Italian artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini, executed between 1621 and 1622.
Bernini was only 23 years old at its completion. It depicts the abduction of Persephone, who is seized and taken to the underworld by the god Hades.

one of the hills to the East side of Lough Money. I was surprised to see these flowers open in February.
I am used to seeing it in flower in April time but I can't remember ever noticing it in flower so early in the year. Not sure if it is due to the mild weather or down to something that the farmer has done in terms of timing.
